Sometimes they get them on and take them off for some reason (damage?) or for whatever reason, you don't get loaded. I'm going to check the shipping websites later today to see if the Freedom has left and then check whether or not my vehicle status is updated to say that it was loaded. All the web addresses to check these things are on the web page:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...q_tracking_usa

Just checked the website - the Freedom has sailed from Southhampton, but my status hasn't changed, yet (received at terminal). I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they loaded my MCS aboard.

But...

They weren't expecting my car for at least another two weeks. The truck I'm scheduled to be delivered from Classic on (to the West coast, where I live), isn't planning on leaving until late August, to give the rest of the '05s in the delivery chance to catch up and get to Classic.

But...

There is a truck leaving August 2 with an earlier batch of orders. If I get out of the VPC and over to Julie in time, my CR/CR/CR (dash!) will be in my hot little hands by mid-August.

Julie said she'd try to put a rush on my car. I've got my fingers crossed, but trying to keep hopes down.

My MINI is also in the states. It sailed on the Carrib. Highway and docked on Tuesday. Still not sure when it started processing at the VDC, but I noticed the change on the Web site yesterday. If we are at the same VDC (Charleston), I'll have my MINI wave to your MINI if he sees him. Maybe I can hitch a ride on your truck, since my dealership in pittsburgh is on the way to Cleveland.
Congrats to you dlaugh. Isn't this wait getting more and more unbearable as the time draws near?

Welp, my car is too at the VPC. According to the mini tracking site in the owners lounge, it is scheduled to be delivered to Baron MINI in KC on Monday. It and 8 others that are on order. OK, so the race is on! Who is going to be:

1. The first person to take delivery of an '05?

2. The first person to take delivery of a Purple Haze MINI?

3. The first person to take delivery of a MINI with the Chrono package?

I'm gonna toot my own horn and say that I stand a dam good chance at number 2!

Looks like you might be the first, Travis. But I maintain that my MINI will be the dark horse in this race (despite its yellow color). So watch out.
Congrats. and if you do get your MINI first, be sure to post pics.

So far mine doesn't look like its made it on the Freedom. The ship has sailed and I searched by booking number and the great majority of those scheduled for the Freedom as shown as loaded. Oh well, I hope I catch the next ship.

Look's like a number of MINIs that got booked on the Freedom on 07/19 and received at terminal on 07/21 didn't end up getting loaded on the ship. If the site is correct, my MCS won't be reaching the VPC before 08/07 or 08/14 instead of 08/04. Boy, that really sucks.

My MINI is all US Specs. I went through http://www.pentagoncarsales.com/ the dealership is only a few minutes from the base I am at.

Its killing me that my MINI is only a few blocks away and I can't get my hands on it.

Selling my wife's 2003 WRX for the MINI....I think it is a good trade

Travis
A) How many cars do you have ??!
B) You're selling a WRX for a MINI ??!
C) You might be the first Purple Haze/BEP ??!

I was deciding between the WRX and the Mini, and figure that so many people have the WRX that I didn't want to be just another one....
I put my name on the wait list in Jan with british racing green, and just a month ago, saw one on the road and decided that was too conservative and plain for my Mini... so I wanted something shocking that stood out.... was thinking about last year's blue until I found out that they won't make it anymore. Those pics of BEP on-line in the cloudy British day, make it look much like the blue, and so I figured I'd go for it. When I got to actually place my order in July, my MA showed me the showroom photos of the BEP and I was kinda shocked at how purple it is!! So I have two cousins who live in London and I asked them to go to the Mini dealer to find a BEP, figuring that there might be some out and about across the pond by now... No luck, they have been looking for 2 weeks and no London dealers have any. They looked at the metal swatch, and tell me that it looks like the Cadbury purple.... Well, I figure, be bold, you're getting a Mini!! make it stand out!! so purple it is.....

kinda excited to find out that yours is at the VPC, and you may be getting it soon, and could possibly actually post some US sunny sky pics of the elusive BEP!!!

So what is your story about the (blind) color choice?

Heh, I have several as you can see. I wanted an Indi Blue MCS, and I didn't want to wait until January for the new blue. So, the wife and I decided that the BEP was a halfway compromise. Depending on what site u look at, the BEP is almost dark blue, but, we are taking a blind chance with it to be sure!

I have been waiting too long!!! since April 3rd and I am starting to go crazy!!!! One more week and it will be at the VPC. I am soooooo paranoid. I am certain that something else will go wrong and I will have to wait another 3 months. It gets so much harder the closer it gets.

How are you all doing with the wait? Anyone else freeking out?

just curious, I wonder how many here ordered their mini from Julie at Classic Mini? also, anyone having it shipped to the west coast? just wondering since the more cars to be shipped, the cheaper it would be for shipping.....

Hey all-

Someone is going to get the first '05 soon, I can feel it!

It won't be me But that isn't important. What is important is that we will get to see the changes in real life, well digital camera real life! And then we will all be so excited to get ours. I tell you, on the May build thread when the first person took delivery everyone started going crazy with excitement about get their new MINI.

Well since I have done this once aready I have been overly anxious from the start, thus, I have been looking at the Port of Charleston web site everyday hoping to see the Emden has made it to he US before it's scheduled date of 8/1. It looks like it will be on time though. Better then late. So I figure it will take a week or so at the VPC and then transport to the dealer, then transport to me. I may have it before we begin the 2004 harvest by a day or two. That is good for me it meens I may have a day to drive it other then to and from work. That is my hope. Also I may be able to be there when it is delivered instead of having someone else take delivery for me. Wouldn't that suck!

So how about the rest of you, are you hoping to get you MINI before any big event?

Yes, indeed: I'm getting married! I get hitched on September 5, then I'm off to Italy for a month. If the car gets here before then (fingers crossed), I take delivery; if not, one of my lucky friends does (one of my groomsmen, actually).

In other news: EEP!

I just spoke to my MA. He said optimistically, the car will be at the dealer by the end of the week. But by the latest, it will arrive by the end of next week. I'm thinking it will probably be next week, since I'm usually a bit of a pessimist, but it's still going to be here over a month early.

I heard someone starting to say something then I plugged my ears and hummed a tune. Really though, I don't know how these rummors get started. Let's just call it a rummor for now. We will know in a week or so if it is true. And at that point we can freak out. Ofcourse if someone (bmovierat, keep us posted) doesn't get their mini in a week or so we will know that there is indeed a hold up.

I ordered from Julie.

How much cheaper can shipping be? I was quoted $1300.

I was planning of flying to OH and driving the car back to AZ. It should be around 50% cheaper than shipping. But if any of you guys can get in on the shipping and lower the cost, I might go for that too.

Even though you had to "cheat" and get your car in Germany. All's fair in love and buying MINI Coopers. Beautiful pictures. I love the color, that was our second choice. Love all your options too. You will certainly be the envy of everyone in your barracks.

How are you getting the beast back in the states?

My husband was in the Marine Corps, and when they deployed those guys, usually each one was alloted a certain amount of weight on the ship back home. Depending on rank, it was usually enough to ship a car (but not much else). Is that how it works in the Air Force?

Congrats again. Be sure to tell us your first impressions.
