The time frame varies so much, its really hard to say. But for me, the time the MINI docked in S.C., to the time it arrived at the dealer was a little over 3 weeks. It was built 7/4 and I picked it up 8/7 if that helps.

 

Ugh! My MA said typically 7-10 days, but we're hoping for anything within 2 weeks.

 

It might have been a little less than that. Ever since I got my MINI, time has really seemed to stand still.

Actually, now that I look at my calendar, I find that the MINI was built on 7/4 it set sail within a few days and docked in Charleston, SC on July 20. It was at the dealer aug. 3 or 4 but I wasn't able to pick it up until the 7th. So it was about 2 weeks since arriving in the states.

 

Ya know what stinks. I am very busy with work this weekend and Fri I go out of town till Wed. Thurs I close on the house. So I cant get my mini till the 28th. Well they called and its ready and waiting. ARGK.

I dont want to wait. I went to look at it tonight and it looks great. But it looks like they left off PDC. There are 4 (I think) small red slugs in the rear bumper and one big red slug. I thought that PDC replaced these with black sensors.

Anyone have a picture of the PDC sensor?

Wait-wait. Is it that if you have PDC then you have four body colored disks on the bumper and if you dont then its smooth. Did they get the sensors body color? That would be cool. wait why did I order PDC on one of the smallest cars in america with no blind spots??? Wait I know its just another toy.

 

Yes, the PDC sensors are body colored round disks on the rear bumper- the PDC is neat too!

Anybody else come in on the Liberty? I tracked the Liberty at the Char. port, but it has left and OL doesn't show at PDC?

Take a deep breath, it's cool. It has to get to the VPC and checked in before it changes on the OL. Check tomarrow afternoon. Do you have a EDD yet?

 

Thanks, I called my MA back and she had left a message on my cell phone. She informed me it was at the VPC and was set to leave on Monday and will arrive at Roadshow on Wednesday!!

I also came in on the LIBERTY (docked 8/17 instead of 8/16 as scheduled ). On a whim, I checked the OL and I'm still listed as En Route....but I do have an EDD of 8/24/04! We'll cross our fingers and hope that its close to that and sometime next week.

Well we are at the VPC and will be at the dealers this Sunday! Hopefully will be on the road next week.

 

Getting to the VPC is half the battle. My EDD to the dealer was 08/20, then it went to 08/18, then back to 08/20 and now today, 08/23. I sure wish they would just stick it on a truck and get it out here already. The last minute delays beat you down the most. Oh well, hopefully it gets here Monday and they can do a quick PDI and get me back to motoring.

MA just called and Jimi arrives at dealership tonight. We are scheduled to pick up on Wednesday. Appointment with window tinting on Thursday.

We are planning a 1,200 mile trip over Labor Day weekend so break-in will occur within a few weeks. I just need to order the car cover (due to our cats jumping on the cars) and pick up a mat for the dog to lay on (we plan on keeping back seats folded down for husband's dog). We are ready and anxious. Our MA kept assuring us that the car would be here in August, and he was right. As soon as I can, I will post pictures. Yahooo!

 

Sounds like time for a celebration on Wednesday! So glad Jimi is getting here in time for the trip. Be sure to take lots of pics along the way to post when you get back. My EDD on OL is 8/25 - we'll have to see if that holds up. We were on the same ship so it could be here soon.

edit- YIKES! The OL now says 8/23!!! I think I'll keep it a secret from the rest of the family so I have two days alone with my new baby!!!

 

Went to see a PH at the dealer yesterday... first look - thought it was Indi Blue... walked around the car to where the light was shining in through the window onto the side... first time I noticed the purple... once you notice the purple, then you can see it... but until then... it looks pretty blue... I'm very curious to see it in the AZ sun!!

Can't wait to see pictures, of Jimi (that's what my partner wants me to call mine... went for Cadbury 'cause its supposed to be same purple as the wrapper - but it definately is not; much darker... so now leaning towards "Prince" )

 

My sneaky better half didn't tell me that our MA called yesterday and we're here! After prep and having windows tinted we take delivery Tuesday at 5:30PM!!!


Luckily #1 son leaves for college Tuesday and opens up a space in the garage for the Mini. Plus he won't be here to try to drive it all the time. Talk about perfect timing!!!

The good news for those of you waiting is the ship docked on Wednesday, got to the VPC on Thursday, and arrived in Scottsdale on Saturday. I guess they had plenty of cupholders

 

My EDD sat at 8/24 for several days, and my status didn't update to At DistributioN Center until yesterday (Saturday) sometime. I just checked a few minutes ago and I'm listed as At Dealer with an EDD of 8/21 (two days ago). I'll call my MA in the morning and get the scoop - could be a surprisingly fun Monday!

 

Looks like things are on the move!!! Everyone getting there minis so quickly. Mine should ship out from the dealer to me today! Then they say 7 to 10 days to arrive at my door step!! Can't wait!

No a Moritz in TX. I intended to pick it up and drive home.

 

I've updated twice with my MA today. My MINI arrived Saturday (or late Friday night), but they didn't have the staff to prep them over the weekend, so they will spend today and tomorrow checking the car, preping it, and applying bonnet stripes and checkerboard roof. Should be picking it up Wed. morning sometime.

 

Congrats to everyone who are getting their MINIs. I've been busy driving mine, so it's been a few days since I last checked in. Don't forget to post pics, everyone.

In other news, I have over 1,300 miles on my MINI. The husband did an after break-in oil change on it yesterday and I have been having fun occassionally red lining it ever since. It's a whole different car now that I can actually drive it. :smile:
