Yay!!! Dobby's here .

I'm so jealous---and I looove the upside down MINI. I'd keep it. It's perfect for Dobby.

Congrats, WannaMini.

Sigh. (also on Freedom, of course. Which thinks it's sailed for the next port, but which has not told me anything else about where my baby is or if she made it off the boat)

Unforunately I cannot pick up monsuire mini untill the first week of july as a result of my injury and my work schedule, got behind last week, plus, my fella is bottling the last week of June so I gotta wait for him

Everybody, a heartfelt THANK YOU! for all of your congrats and well wishes on Dobby's arrival!!! It was w/o a doubt THE BEST car-buying experience of my life. So non-pressure, and laid back. Even when I said I didn't want the extended warranty, the finance guy just said, "Okee dokee" and we moved on to the next. I LOVE that. Granted, MINIs sell themselves, but can you imagine if more dealers took this approach? I remember buying an Explorer with my ex and basically almost throwing up because of a tummy in knots. We bartered EVERYTHING. And they tried to force everything. THAT was a nightmare. This was pleasant, and I hate to say it, but even fun.

And tracking with all of you has been a BLAST, and I am seeing all of us through to the very last MINI to be delivered!!!

Just as I am leaving "WannaMini" as my callsign, perhaps I should leave the upside down MINI logo as well.

It's not me, It's my horse. She had a rough time with the trainer, it will take a while to fix that.

I have a est. delivery date on the owners lounge of 6/12. So cool, wish I could fly to TX that day!!! My poor mini will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for me at the dealer, I hope no cheese poof hands touch my little car.

I just picture it in the show room being crawled on.

Oh so the HORSE is hurt, and not you? Hopefully the dealership will tuck it away in a safe place, away from traffic.

The Heijin cars are heard from....

Yes! Our MA called. Our car is "one of the first ones off the boat." It should be here by end of the week and he'll put in the auxilliary gauges and give us the floor mats. He's off W and Th but will call us to set up an appointment to pick it up "end of the week or over the weekend." I'm off to get insurance

no, I'm hurt, the horse did it, bucked like I have never had a horse buck before, in a full run no less, quite a shock!

My MA said that no one would even see it before I get there to pick-up. That is what I like to hear. So how's motoring, did you get the weird jerky thing checked out. That doesn't sound good at all.

WANNAMINI!!!!

my most sincere congrats on the happy conclusion of the Life of Dobby Part One. I must weigh in on the logo - it's just too perfect. It must stay upside down. It's hilarious. and somehow it's not even the whole emblem, just the center circle with MINI in it, I wonder if they could even do that if they tried!!

but GoLikeSchnell has it right on - get a new logo and hang onto it just in case.

I'm glad you're finally motoring, it's a wonderful experience. i'm having a truly crappy Monday but when I went out at in the MINI at lunch, couldn't figure out what was wrong with my face when I realized it was a big grin!

Sharky,

We are on US soil!!! I'm trying not to get my hopes too high of having the car within the week. If anybody is going to get Dobby'd it is my car Padre. Still, hope springs eternal.

Wannamini: Great pics! You and Dobby seem like a match made in heaven. And you have a roadtrip margarita kit ready to go. You know Dobby wants to see California and go wine tasting with us. Please update all the Heijin's to On US soil or whatever the category is.

Wine Chic: Sorry to hear about the injury from your horse. A trainer should not cause a dramatic change in a horses demeanor. I'm sure that you will have your horse acting and feeling normal again soon.

Hopefully motoring soon.

Cheers,

Downside Up?!?

Hey Wannamini,

I think you should definitely keep the upside down MINI logo. It is a sign from God or something. Also get a 'traditional' one in case you (God forbid) ever want to sell it. I'm sure you'd only ever do that to get Dobby Jr.

Cheers,

Now that's a good MA. Hopefully Tony at MINIMainLine is as good when I pick up Charlie this week or next.

Welcome home Dobby. Happy motoring!
CONGRATULATIONS, WannaMini and Dobby! Lovely pictures. Happy, happy motoring!

BTW, I would definitely leave the wings upside down.

Thanks, You'd be suprised what a bad or incorrect treatment can do to a horse in a short time. he toatally blew my little horses mind, she will take a long time to get back.

Sorry no more off topic horse talk, I promise, she is my baby I have had her since before she was born.

Did you mix yourself one when you got home?

Congrats, Wana... it's been a bumpy ride, but it's nothing but smooth sailing from here on out. Enjoy your new blue baby. Can't wait for mine. :D

So when you gonna change your name to GottaMini?

I think this is the part of the wait that I hate the most. I have no idea where Charlie is other than somewhere between Philly and NYC. We need to be able to track our babies once they get off the boat.

Still have an estimated delivery date of tomorrow, though. Should be another few days to install the invisishield then....motor.

Just waiting on the call now Tony. hint hint.

Storm 180,

I feel your pain. It is excruciating knowing that Padre is in California but not being able to really track him until his arrival at the dealership. I have the fear that he will be Dobby'd or worse, be really damaged and stuck there for even longer. Hopefully Charlie will arrive safe and sound and you will be on the road soon.

Cheers,

As long as I'm on the road before the 20th, I'll be fine. We're driving down to Florida then to see my folks, and I really want that road trip to get rid of the break in period.

When I find myself looking wistfully (yet impatiently) at pictures of IB/W MCS's, I gently remind myself that 'It'll be here soon. Very soon.'

Then I quietly find a corner in which I can sit and quiver & shake in anticipation.

Yes, you won't be able to track it yourself, but your MA should be able to tell where it's at - i.e. released to carrier, etc. I don't think Padre will get Dobby'd

According to the OL, my Estimated Delivery Date is TOMORROW!!!! My husband is on the phone with Hank Aaron MINI right now to get some more info. Maybe I'll have Pidwidgeon this weekend (fingers crossed).

Now I have to figure out a way to get to Atlanta (my other vehicle is on a Uhaul trailer--currently somewhere in Nebraska)....

Wahoo! Congrats IYellow on the arrival date of tomorrow. I hope your MA confirms it. Padre's estimated delivery date is now listed as Friday. Wahoo! I still won't be able to pick it up until early next week because the dealer has to install the driving lights (while they're at it they also will put in my chrome grill and parcel shelf), alarm and aux input. I'm going to call my MA and see if he can give me any more detailed information. I paid almost no attention in our staff meeting this morning. I need to get this car so I can get back to work. The truth is that I will probably then spend the days dreaming about getting back into my MINI so I can drive some more.

WannaMini: Are you blissfully driving around town just so that you can be seen before heading out to the twisty roads to have some fun? What is the final decision on the INIW situation? We all want you to keep it.

Cheers,

My mini is in production!

Very excited to find out my Mini went into production on the 7th! Had to tell someone who would understand how awsome that it's a week ahead of schedule. The best I have gotten from friends is "Oh, cool". This wait is killing me. I might have to finally make a June build thread so I won't be all alone when you all motor away.

Car at the dealers!

JCampos, where are you? I was driving down the El Camino this afternoon and made a U-turn when I saw a car carrier being unloaded at the dealers. I actually saw what I'm sure is my car being driven off. Sorry -- didn't see a PW/B, but the carrier was nearly empty by then and they were driving the cars up onto the roof, so I hope yours was there. The OL gives ETA Friday, and we have an appointment to pick ours up on Saturday. All I can say is, the cars look great. Speedu4ea, you'll be happy if you set up a June build thread -- it really helps the awful waiting. Other Heijin cars, are you hearing from your MAs?
