Hola MINI Maniacs,

JCampos: I ordered April 10 from Sacramento MINI (I paid extra for the extortion package) and hope to get Padre at about 2 months even. I keep saying I, but my wife and I are going to share the car; I think my total obsession is going to make it more 'my' car. Do you think we have a battle coming? :evil:

Wannamini: Maybe Dobby got confused (he was drinking a lot) and was waiting on the dock for Padre to show up.

"Don't worry Dobby, Padre is ok and will be in California soon. Now, get on the truck. . .Come on Dobby, get on the truck. . .It's ok Dobby, get on the truck. . .Damn it Dobby, get on the truck!"

Yeah, Dobby was looking for Padre probably. Then maybe he was thinking they were both hitching a ride via truck to California. Alcohol kills brain cells.

I emailed Julie and asked to to email me back if she has news that he was released. Otherwise, to say nothing. Nothing's been said. Sooooo, looks like he's STILL there.

He'll be here soon enough. Should be anyday now. This waiting is EXCRUCIATING! I think this past week has been the absolute worst part. Well, at least since Thursday...

I hope noone coming off the boat gets "Dobby'd" It's not fun.

I think I should have emphasized "can." I really don't, but reversing into a spot is also quite fantastic.

Oh wow! And I've seen that movie about 5 times and never paid attention to that. I think I was laughing too hard watching him hurt himself.

Those are all available. My two favorites, LV2CRNR and EAR2EAR were both taken as were almost all references to MINI.

You guys are lucky! I ordered from Mini of Mountain View also, but not until April 8th. I won't be seeing my week 25 build car until late July if I am lucky.

WannaMini I like the I SHUNK plate idea. But the one you are picking is cool too...

I vote for BLDY HEL with 2d choice LV 2MTR. I also ordered mine in California. Various spellings of Que Padre were taken, but I did get QUE MINI (So/How Tiny/Mini).

that all sounds about right, and makes sense... the build date printed on my car says 4/22/04, 6 days before I actually placed an order, so that idea was rolling around in my head.

I love BLDY HEL. you could also try BLDY L, even more subtle...

I'm thinking that my car feels like it wants to be called Gizmo. I'm trying to let the name just come to me, and that was my wife's suggestion. it's growing on me.

 

Not yet but i talked to my MA and he said that it should arrive this week and i should have it this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I feel kinda silly, but I ordered plates today two months before the car gets here. I ordered ACTL SZ.

 

Just got a call from my dealer, Andes Highway due to dock on June 11th in South Carolina.

I saw that too on the Charleston port web page. Seems like an awful long trip since Figaro left the same day and it is due into SC on the 9th and that includes stops in NY and Baltimore. Anyways . . . at least we know the ship is on its way.

 

Yeah, my dealer called me today also with the same info (Andes Highway on the 11th). It seems way too long. Slow ship maybe. At least now I know that they average 5 days from landing to my dealership.

He's ordering my accessories though (just floor mats and chrome mirrors).

Since I'm having it shipped from the dealership in LA to Portland, I'm looking at a likely July 1 arrival.

I am getting the same accessories for my DS/W MCS except I am also getting the windows and sunroof tinted. Hot sun here in Texas. My MA estimated 4-5 days to get to the dealer as well. Hoping to have mine for the weekend of the 18th.

How is your mini getting to LA? Are they trucking it there? This may be much quicker than waiting on a ship to traverse the Panama Canal.

My vote, and hopefully my plate, goes for ISHRUNK. Some of the other ones I liked were SIZE XS and MINIMZE. Go for BLDY HEL - Dobby has been worth it. :smile:

Although the Aida is now due into NYC on the 5th, not the 4th. It seems Dobby is rubbing off on Charlie.

 

No sign of the shipping vessel, the "Grus", that my MCS is aboard. I guess I will just have to wait for it to appear at the VDC. I still hope to get the car before July.

"Belle's Ride" named after my grand-daughter is going to be so much fun. All my friends are very excited and are queing up for rides. My grand-daughter always giggles when I take corners quickly. She will love riding in the back of my MCS.

I am really looking forward to giving her and all my friends their first rides. When I pick up the car I am going on a road trip so the engine will be broken in when I get home. That way I can make it rev freely and make my passengers giggle and/or squeel more effectively.

Plates.. thats it??? I ordered:

Alta intake, alta pulley, alta air diverter/water sprayer, alta short shift kit, alta gauge pod, magnaflow cat-back, Autometer Phantom boost gauge, Autometer Phantom Oil Temp (coming soon), "M7 Device", and a Unichip (coming soon). You got some catching up to do. My MINI should get here in a little over a week and it is just DYING to get past 1250 to get fitted with all its snazzy new gear!

 

OOOO! I really like BADOBBY - the sharing of the D! But that would be for me and you guys and perhaps avid Harry Potter fans. But he IS Dobby. BADDOBBY is one too many letters.

Just like with everyone else, it's a toss up over what the name is.
