I was wondering about the significance of iyellow.

Anyhow, that is quite an excited/happy look you have!! Did pig say that my little mini had a good trip? Since he is a car I going to guess that the answer is no. Mine is listed as at the dealer on the OL so I imagine he's been there a few days How I wish I could pick him up this weekend stupid messed up back.

Less than three weeks to go now need to do that insurance and loan stuff soon. oops.

Less than 48 hours until I get to meet Charlie. So if anyone sees a Chili Red\Black MCS flying down the PA turnpike on Wednesday give a wave, eh? Long distance waves and\or toots of the horn will also be accepted and appreciated.

Hi everyone. I'm still waiting, waiting, waiting.

Congrat's all around to those of you who've picked up or know when you're picking up your new babies.

I'm going to go back into my corner & twitch some more. I just looked at the pics of Pigwidgeon.

I should know better than to look at anything IB, it makes me

WanaMini, please change my estimated date of arrival. My boat lands on Weds. 06/16, est. delivery is 6/26.

Storm180,
Congratulations. On Thursday, I will be driving around inexplicably honking Padre's horn for you on the PA turnpike. Maybe even the Governator will hear me when I pass his Hummer near the capitol. I (actually my wife and I so ) we get Padre tomorrow. Thursday he will be getting his cool window tint and California Flag on the sunroof. It would look cool to someday assemble all of the different countries and states at an international gathering. Sort of a united nations of minis!

Cheers,

Hang in there Jimskater, you'll be motoring before long. Maybe you should make sure that there is some padding in your corner so you don't hurt yourself waiting for the big day. Most of the Maydayers have spent time in the corners of padded rooms already anyway!

Stay cool and cheers,

To others, who don't know the stories of Dobby, it's a defect.

Motoring is AWESOME. I am getting more and more daring. I've stopped braking for corners. Yesterday, I pulled into an empty parking lot to see exactly what he can do. That night, while on my way to the club, I was listening to some Onyx with the windows all the way down, the sunroof open, and my long curly hair blowing EVERYWHERE. It was awesome. I cannot wait until all the Maydayers (and you, spedu4ea) get to motor.........
Hey thanks for the mention! I am finally on a June Build thread! Although I come back here often (like often enough to have read every post ) to see how everyone is doing. Plus the June thread hasn't reqally started moving yet. I was afraid of this. There is only one WanniMinni after all and only one Dobby! Hopefully it will pick up. Seeing all of the big smiles from the people Motoring makes the wait both hard and easier.

Congrats everyone! This seems to be the biggest week for the May group. I should be picking up mine tomorrow night! As you can tell I'm not going to fall asleep early tonight.

IYellow, big props for biting the bullet and getting the stick shift. It might be a little tought to begin with, but you'll thank yourself for the rest of your life!

I love driving this little car! It was a horrible Monday at work, but I got through it thinking of all the errands I've been putting off that now I could drive to in the Mini. On Saturday we went on a little road trip, down Stevens Canyon, up to Skyline drive and down through Woodside (for those of you who know the Bay Area). Great views, extreme bends up and down, more fun in this car than I ever remember it on more sedate drives.

Snuck out today to escape the incoming work and bought a windshield sunscreen from the dealer. I need to look for that thread, but what are the rest of you doing about that? Tinted windows? Other ideas?

So how many of the May builds are still out there torturing their owners undelivered?

Been lurking here a while, being also in the May build group. Wanted to welcome iyellow and TomAiello to Idaho. We're going to try to start something with a morning coffee for MINI owners in Boise on June 26.

I should be picking up my BRG/W MC in Portland end of this week, so I'll have her, Igraine, in time for the meeting. It's fun hearing how everyone is relating to the cars once they get in them. Congrats to all you Maydayers.

Um, it occurs to me that I might look like some psycho stalker posting pictures on the internet. If you're wondering, I'm iyellow's husband ("Aiello" is pronounced "I-Yellow" ).
OOOOOH!!!!! NOW I get it. IYellow. I thinking, "If she likes yellow so much, why is she getting IB?"

You're right about Dobby having so much character. I just LOVE that car!!!

A Name

Hey all-

I was driving home from work yesterday and out of nowhere a name popped into my head, a name for my new baby not just a random name , I think his name will be Monty. Maybe short for Montgomery, but maybe just Monty. So what do y'all think. (I'm practicing my TX talk for when I get pulled over for speeding two minutes after I drive away from the dealer. )

Hey iyellow, I have never really driven a stick either. I think it just makes it that much more fun. The only time I really have was when we rented a MCS in Vegas a week or so before I ordered Monty. That's what hooked me on the MINI.

Wannamini- you can update me to at the dealer.

Winechic, I'm so sorry that you have to wait to pick up your new baby . Hopefully the time will fly by--but you can definitely use the time productively. I recommend arranging insurance (my insurance agent was so excited--it was her first MINI), and of course, BUYING ACCESSORIES .

So far Pig hasn't said anything to me, but I'll try asking him again this afternoon. Although he seems happy to meet me, he's been a little quiet.

Thanks, Idahorob. Congratulations on your upcoming delivery!! You're going to love Igraine. Are you in Boise? I'm really looking forward to getting out there, especially since the humidity here has been brutal lately. I haven't done much driving in Idaho yet, but I'm hoping we'll find lots of twisties to motor on.

Please keep us posted on the MINI community in Idaho--I'll be out there around mid-July. My husband is already there, busily working away on remodeling our house, but Pigwidgeon is still a Southerner right now (with me ).

Thanks for the welcome, and maybe we'll see you soon!

I LOVE Monty. So much in fact that Dobby was almost a Monty. But for Monty Python. Very British, you know! Higgins was almost a Monty as well.

Dobby was hyper and talking from the very start. He is going to get me into some serious trouble! He never goes slower than 80 on the highway, and I am just not used to going that fast! Bad Dobby!!! And he won't shut up about wanting a Margarita! He keeps asking when we are going to drive up and down the California coast and go to wine country. I think perhaps he has ADHD.

Beware the Ides of June

AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH! We just got back from MINI of Sacto and I am sad to report that Padre wasn't ready yet. He should be ready by 3:00 so I'll have to wait until I get off of work to pick him up this evening. The dealer told us to save our lunch receipt because they would pay for our lunch. Cool! I have computer training this afternoon and another project to finish so I couldn't even have wine with lunch.

Hopefully when I report in tomorrow, Padre will be safely tucked away at our house.

Oh, the agony continues.

Cheers,

The Maryland Update

Well, as of tonight, Owen has exactly 1000 miles on the clock as he sits in the driveway. Yes, that's in less than three weeks. Yes, I've exhibited *some* restraint. No, it hasn't been *much* restraint.

Owen has given lots of rides...has given more test drives than you might imagine...has brought home wood from Home Depot...has taken three adults and one child to see Harry Potter at the historic Senator theater in Baltimore...has been an ambassador of MINI to friends and family alike...has already been "borrowed" by my wife for her commute...has been making friends with a spotless black Mustang Cobra in a faraway corner of the parking lot at work...has caused the BMW 2002 to sit cold and alone in the garage...has allowed me to preach the gospel of MINI to the unwashed masses...has shown the halfassed 2 Fast 2 Furious crowd in Bel Air, Md., how it's done (up to 4250 rpm of course)...has just plain been a hoot.

Here's some pictures:

At home with my wife's Golf 1.8Turbo...it's a forced induction household!

Meeting Sibyll, the BMW 2002, nose-to-nose...

...and from the other angle.

Hope everybody else is having as much fun as we are! WannaMini--did you keep the upside down badge? My wife thinks that is so totally cool, especially since it's named Dobby...
