Hi Harbor Girl! I would be happy to add you to our list if you plan to stick around? It's soooo wonderful to be in this group. We are all as obsessed and neurotic as the next!

Yeah, Storm, I'm sure your wife would love the comment you made about the girl in front of the yucky jazzed up MINI.

Oh believe me, give it time. In fact, go back to the first few pages of this thread before we all really started to get to know each other. You'll be surprised. I saw that your thread has quite a few responses on it already! I'd love to drop in once in awhile....

I have computer training this afternoon and another project to finish so I couldn't even have wine with lunch.

Hopefully when I report in tomorrow, Padre will be safely tucked away at our house.

Oh, the agony continues.

Cheers,
WELLLLLL?!?!?!?!?! I haven't read ahead yet, but is Padre home????

Here's a funny story...goes to show you to MEMORIZE what your warning lights mean. I had the triangle with the exclamation point come on last night, and of course I freaked. Pulled over and found out it meant that the DSC had failed. Then I realized I may have accidentally hit it instead of the windshiled. Sure enough, I flipped the switch and the light went off.

Many thanks, WannaMini -- that's too kind! I had fun writing it (and there's still so much to cover... like the (excruciating!) wait).

BTW, before i forget, your dealer should have a file on you -- make sure to ask them to add the INIW thing so that it's "on record" should you ever want them to, say, install the new one (in case the people at the dealership change or whatever).

Thanks for the kind words, WannaMini. You'll have to post pics of the driving lights. I was sure I'd be getting them for Owen but now I'm not so positive. Definitely will be getting the parcel shelf, though.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I just haven't had any news to report and I have been out of town. Anyways . . . the Andes Highway arrived in SC on 6/11 and I just found out my EDD is 6/20  MA says I may get it on the 19th, but more likely the 21st. It has been raining this week in Texas so I am not sure if I would want to motor very much in this mess. Let's hope fur sunny skies next week.

Thought you folks might enjoy a couple more pics

There are two new ones at the bottom of the site showing the results of detailing with Klasse products. They are amazing! 6-12 months of acrylic protection...the car self-cleans now

Motoring!

Finally after an excrutiating wait after work yesterday, we got to pick up Padre. The chrome grill, driving lights and parcel shelf were installed beautifully and at no extra cost. Sweet.

I got to drive him home (my beautiful wife gets him today) and it was even more fun than I hoped it would be. It was 100 degrees here yesterday so the AC was on full. I had to give it more rpms when taking off, but Padre was zippy and ready to go. I couldn't believe it when a cop pulled up behind me not two blocks from the dealership and trailed me for over a mile! Luckily, I was still trying to learn how to drive this particular clutch and didn't burn any rubber or anything. He finally turned off. (Maybe the Chili Red is a cop magnet, but he was probably just checking the car out.)

I'm used to driving my old Nissan pick up with its loose loose steering. I usually drive waving the steering wheel back and forth (like actors on old movies) just to keep the truck in the lane. In the MINI I found that I was weaving all over the place. (Hmmm, maybe that's why the cop was following me.) I had to concentrate on just letting Padre roll straight down the road. Very nice.

Well, my wife has Padre today so I guess I'll have to stay at work and not slip out for any motoring today. We hope to post some pictures on Friday after we get the roof graphic installed.

In case I didn't say it before:
Wannamini, please put me on the list as MOTORING!

Cheers,

Raining in TX

So how hard is it raining? My poor Monty is there waiting for me to pick him up at Moritz. I hope he's not outside.

Monty

Hey Winechic!

I love the name--veddy British . I'm sure Monty is fine in the deluge--even if he gets wet, they'll have him all ready for you July 3. Besides, Pigwidgeon has been rained on everyday since I got him and seems to be loving the rain. I think he's part duck . His first night in Birmingham it rained buckets. I woke up during the night, heard the rain, and felt soooo guilty. It was a little silly, I guess, but I wanted so badly to bring him inside. It took a while for me to go back to sleep.

Only 2 1/2 weeks to go now. Have you gotten that insurance set up yet?

Winechic - We are getting storms in Houston this week. I think Dallas got the brunt of the storms last week. Monty has probably had some time to dry out
