name.... I have no idea. I gave it alot of thought but I couldnt come up with anything that sticks out.

There was also one slight problem with my car. The display for the auto ac was a little hazy.... looks like it was smudged or something but its on the inside. So...... MINI of Mountain is actually really great about it. THEY pointed it out to me and told me a new one was already on the way.

That's awesome. I had a great experience with my MA, who pointed out my MINI was upside down. Said I could have it replaced.

Congrats on Dobby FINALLY arriving wannamini. Sucks that your car took so long at the VPC.... not that I am trying to BRAG or anything but mine only took 1 day at the VPC!!!! I was SHOCKED! Boat docked on the 6th and I got a call on the 8th saying its at the dealership!
Oh yeah, most cars took a day - in and out - and all the VPCs. BTW - there was nothing seriously wrong with him at all.

I'm so excited to update your status to MOTORING!!!! Congratulations!!

Wannamini- Your dedication to this thread is so nice. I will totally understand if you don't wanna keep tracking untill I pick up on July 3rd, though I will post when I can and tell you all how great mr Mini is, I may even have a name by then. Also you can update all the Freedom folks to on US soil. we landed on the 5th as scheduled. My MA said I should be at the dealer in TX on the 12th.

How about the rest of you on the Freedom, who's taking delivery this weekend? Did your mini say that the yellow guy is good, healthy and happy? I can't believe my car is gonna be there waiting for three weeks, that sucks!! I wish I could drive right now so I could go get it next week!

Oh well at least he's in the US on his way to TX.
OF course I am going to hold out till the end to put you to MOTORING and give you your ear to ear grin! I signed on for this, I am going to see every last one of us through! Yeah, and I see little updates here and there once we are all motoring. I can see us keeping this going for updates...

On another note, I like the simple May '04 Club for in our siggies.

Oh, I was the SAME way. I didn't even want to touch him for fear I'd scratch him! I was so nervous on my drive home.

And yes, I like the sig - (look at mine )

Great, JCampos! So it's all worth it, right?
My car is the EB. We're going to try to pick it up later today. No names yet -- any suggestions from all you creative souls out there?

Jcampos question for you...

I noticed that Mini of Mountan View but the front plate bracket on. Did you try and ask them not to? Are you planning on taking yours off (I know it is required in CA I just don't like it)? If you already have are there holes in the bumber now? And was your MA Dean or Ben? I met with Dean or Elvis as he like so to be called. Car looks Awsome!

Thanks!

Damn JCampos! Your ear to ear 'I can hardly believe it' grin says it all. The car is beautiful. Keep sending us pictures as you drive around. The OL now again says my est. delivery is June 11, today. I'll have to keep bugging my MA and hoping that the truck gets here soon. Let us know the best twisty roads you find in the area.

Cheers,

Check out the sig below...I'm picking up Pigwidgeon tomorrow morning at 10:00 am. I've already got a ride to Atlanta lined up and everything. WOOOHOOOO!

Only 22 hours to go.

Awesome! I don't think you are going to sleep very well tonight. Better have some good California Zin or Cab before hitting the sack. Oh and don't forget to chill a bottle of champagne for tomorrow night when you bring Pigwidgeon home. My wife and I already have our bottle in the fridge and ready to go.

Have fun tomorrow.

Cheers,

WineChic,

We are sticking with everybody until (and even after) they get their MINIs. I hope you're feeling better. Can't wait until we can have a MINI wine tasting event with all the nearby MayDayers!

Wahoo, Wahoo, Waaaaaaaahhoooooooooooo! I just heard from my MA and Padre is supposed to be on the truck and on his way for delivery at the dealer sometime today!!! I'm going there this afternoon to give them the parts I want installed and get all the paperwork done. We will schedule an official pick up time for some time on Monday or Tuesday. Padres likes trucks. The poor driver probably has to keep telling him to stop honking the big horn.

Hopefully, I'll be able to have pictures for you guys next week. Did I remember to say, Waaaaahoooooooo!

Cheers,

Congrats!!! this is going to be one of the longest days of your life, you know this, right?

A strange sence of calm has come over me the last week or so, it may be the muscle relaxents and pain killer, but I am really not to wigged about having to wait until the 3rd. It is kindof a nice time to prepare for being separated from my money that I like so much. I can get insurance all set, find a good deal with good coverage, figure out where to go on the MINI road trip. I really expected to be all wigged out right now, but I am kinda mellow about it, really excited, but mellow. Anyhow, I've waited 3 months thus far, what's another three weeks? I won't be saying this on the 30TH ofcourse at that point, three days is gonna be like a freaken eterity!!!

My MA was Ben. I did NOT ask them to not install the front plate.... I forgot. I did take it off last night and YES, there are holes now

I don't know about you, but my MA and I keep getting these visuals of these little MINIs in cartoon form. I just had a visual of Padre sticking his front out of the closed curtain with his door wrapped around into the driver cabin, hinking the horn. Oh yeah, Padre's tongue is sticking out, too, and he's just full of excitement.

Just like we pictured a cartoon car with a margarita shaker in the paint shop. hahaha

It's here!

Hey all! Sorry I haven't poston on NAM yet, but I post more than my share over on the MINI2 may build thread. Some may know me, others may have forgotten us completely (AHEM--WM!). But I have been following right along in here as well.

My production # was pretty much right next to Storm's for reference. Both of ours have been sitting in stinky NJ since saturday.

But I'm too damn exited, I need to share with you guys too, mine was just delivered to Mini of Peabody! I'll be heading up tomorrow to welcome it, but due to several installs it will be Tues or Wed before pickup.

I've been excited all week..now I've got the feeling I won't be able to even sleep the next few nights!

:D

All these cars from the Heijin are being delivered! Hopefully, I'm only a day or two behind everyone else. I'm having my dealer put the chrome grille in, since I think it is just so gorgeous (that and he magically ordered 17" rims and wants to make it up to me in some small part). Hopefully he can rig the trade between my car and this other guy - that way I won't be out $600 for the S-Lites, which I think will totally overpower the dark silver, considering they're white. :/ I'd rather get default 16" rims, and put that money towards rims/equipment I really want. :D

Perhaps I ought to stay by the computer and post a blow by blow account of the first moments?

Motoring madly -- what a great car! WannaMini, you're my hero for starting this thread and keeping track of everything. I haven't laughed as hard for years as when I saw the INIW, and I love it, but you better believe I checked every MINI logo before signing the check. Pete F, just pick the car up -- you'll wonder why you let it go so long. iyellow, ditto. JCampos, couldn't open the pic but that was really kind of you. Now why was I so patient -- the last to pick up the car from this shipment???! Winechic, hang in there and see you on the road next month. Lintqueen, let's hear about it. (No photos for the next few days --our digital camera is on holiday in Europe. Bad planning.)

No progress on the name. My husband sees EB/W and thinks there must we some E.B. White name we'd like. You can't call a blue car Charlotte, though... First I need to think about where to motor tomorrow and maybe a name will make itself obvious. And I'll have time to take care of the .sig.

I'm looking forward to hearing about everyone's experience with these cars. We all love them, but what a great thing to hear early when something might go wrong and have that perspective on whether or not to worry!

Thanks, guys.

Gosh, thanks, that's very sweet! (And I have been told I'm a "surfer in a deb dress" before!) I've had fun with the photography and crafts in the last few years... I'm not quite ready to take the plunge and start really trying to make money with it, but I'm gathering steam.

In other news, I picked up my baby last night. Honestly I was a bit freaked out... there was the whole last minute "clear coat" decision (which I bought basically for the guarantee... I have no garage, and there are about a million birds in my yard, so I figure I'll eventually get some bird poo that I don't get off "in time"). Then there was the negotiation around trade-in (they're going to auction off my poor old Saturn and don't think they'll get anywhere near blur book, so I got less than I was figuring on).

The two kickers, though, that (a) the trick about pushing the key button and getting the windows to open was not working well for either me or my MA and (b) the ICElink install didn't work, so there was no iPoddy goodness.

WRT the ley...it turns out I was squeezing the little key so hard that I was cutting off the singals (oops), and once I loosened my grip it was fine.

The ICElink I'm just going to have to fuddle with. They did the install (free) but w/out an iPod, they couldn't test it. And by the time we got to it, the service techs were gone.

(Add to that the fact that I'm single, female, 35 and the last of my female single friends, whom I've known since I was *five*!, is getting married tomorrow, and you [read: I] have a giant case of anxiety.)

But anyway, she's home. I love her. She's very sentitive (compared to my Saturn, which was a moose, as far as handling), so I'm getting used to her.

Pics as soon as I can get'em out of camera and edited down to size.
