>>gghost ~ did you make the Freedom? Are you shipmates with iyellow and winechic?

This morning the 50 minis that had been wait listed on the Freedom are now on the Andes Highway. However, there is no information on when we sail. This is frustrating!!

For those that have asked... I am picking my car up at Mini Of Fairfield County. That is in Stamford, CT.. which is probably an hour or less from the VPC. BMW and MINI move lots of cars through the Fairfield County area of CT...

Wannamini... maybe the reason your car is being released from the VPC on Friday is that it might be the first day that they have a truck going in your direction. They can't possibly have trucks going in every direction each day. When I talked to my MA a few weeks ago... he said that the cars can sit at the VPC for up to 10 days before they get on a truck. So I think you have nothing to worry about! Your car will get there soon!!!

>>MINIUSA's automated phone system says I'm in transit. A real person tells me I'm still on the dock arrived at port of exit, code 193. OL has me as "awaiting transport." W&W has me loaded onto the still/now non-existent voyage N0024-GRU, on a Panama flagged ship called the GRUS.

Hi jimskater,

I have a very similar situation. Yesterday, the Heijin dropped off of the WW site as well as the voyage number. I was afraid that maybe the ship had actually sank. (sunk?) I emailed WW (the now empty voyage page said to contact my nearest WW rep - like they do after a plane crashes!) They wrote me back today that the boat left Southampton on 5/13 (not 5/10 as shown on their site originally and not 5/14 which is the listed date of loading). It is supposed to arrive now on June 6, not June 10. Also, the OL just updated me today to en route, 12 days after the boat left England.

Bottom line: I am afraid that we will remain confused until Ollie and Padre arrive in Port Hueneme. I think that WW is using other shipping companies because the Heijin is owned by SDK Lines, not WW. The good news is that, just because we are riding ghost ships, they have not truly disapeared and should deliver the minis as promised. In my case, hopefully, 4 days early.

Stick with this group. They know how to have fun and pass the excruciating wait.

Wannamini: I'm sure Dobby is fine, probably just a little hung over like you said.

Cheers,

Yes, after Charleston monsuire mini will take a ride to TX where my fella and I will pick him up in early July. We are currently tring to figure out where we are gonna go after TX, we are considering Colorado, Utah, Idaho, anda final stop in Oregon. Or Vegas, and So.Cal. I would prefere the mountains.

rock on GoLikeSchnell! congrats!

hey WannaMini: you've got me wondering now about these truck routes - I've been thinking rather simplistically about it and just kind of figured that we would be on the same truck... but now that you mention it, I don't think they would put my car and yours on the same truck out of NJ, to have go to Akron (it is going to akron right? or were you picking up in PA?) and then all the way south to Cincy. so if I'm supposed to be at the dealer on Friday, then maybe you are on another truck just before or after my truck leaves the VPC.

could this be Dobby's first "Bad Dobby" experience? newborn and already raisin' hell!

It looks like the first 10 cars to arrive at the port on the 18th were loaded on the Freedom, mine being one of them.

I was origanally schedualed on the Andes Hwy. the depature date was the 26th so I imagine you will be leaving very soon ggohst. The ships seem to be 2 days behind scheduel, if that helps any.

He better not be being bad! BAAAAAD Dobby! Uuugh. This is killing me - hey Tim, congrats on getting to the dealer already!! As happy as I am for my shipmates, I want to know, "WHERE IS MY CAR??!?!?!?!?!"

The car will be delivered to Mentor, actually, East of Cleveland. No, I would think they are different trucks. I would think mine would go through Cle, then maybe detroit to Chi, where yours may go through VA first - HEY! Maybe yours was on the truck that just dropped up Tim's in Balto - or maybe mine was!

Man, I just WISH I could track the trucks!!!!!!!

not too much time lost, I hope...

Where oh where is the Heijin? My car is supposed to be on it but today the voyage number and vessel name have vanished from the WW website, and the status of the car just says Loaded on Vessel. Anybody know the whereabouts of the ghost ship?

Sharky, this is exactly why I came here was to post about this.

IF you check the OL, it should say that you are now "en route" with an estimated delivery date of 6/4 . The heijin truely is one weird ship, and I have emailed WW customer service to see what the f:evil:ck is going on. Ill let you know what I hear back.

exactly! your idea of truck routes makes sense though... that you would be on something making a northern run to the west and I'd be on one running south first and then west.

so at this point, are we making this easier or harder?!?

hey all on the Freedom-

does anyone have a callsign for our cruise ship? I think it might be WDB5483 can anyone comfirm? I looked it up on the CG site and found 2 possible ships, maybe ever 3, but one was pretty small.

If this is our ship, the captian is too busy making sure or minis are safe and cozy to call in to the weather site, thus no tracking across the pond, bummer.

Concerns:

If you all haven't learned by now, I am an obsessive worrywort. I have made a list of 5 things that could go wrong. (I could go more, but decided to stop at 5)

1. Dobby is getting his fender banged back out, and he's being repainted, hence the extra three days needed at VPC.

2. Dobby is left sitting outside at the VPC waiting for a stupid truck when a massive hailstorm hits New Jersey - back to the body shop.

3. My favorite MA, Julie, takes vacation days, or days off, and truck arrives. They don't know it belongs to someone, and they sell it to someone who goes driving off with it.

4. Same scenario as #3 Julie is out - they don't know it belongs to someone and lets little kids with cheesy poof hands and the dads with grease stained pants sit in the car, and even worse let them drive it!

5. Same scenario - just that my car is there for days before I am notified.

I wish I knew exactly where my Dobby was.

Hey JCampos and Sharkey,

I emailed WW yesterday. they wrote back that the Heijin left Southampton on May 13 and is due to arrive on June 6. They gave no explanation as to why it no longer appears on their tracking system. Also, the Heijin is expected into the Port of San Diego 2 days before that. San Diego has its arrival as Jun 8, but it will probably actually be June 4. You can check the Port of San Diego site for all arrivals and departures.

It's all part of the fun we're having on the ghost ship Heijin. I think our minis should get together and take over the ship, kick in the superchargers and get to Port Hueneme. Mutiny on the Heijin!

Wannamini: I'm sure nothing bad will happen to Dobby. He's just playing hard to get so you will appreciate him more once he arrives.

Cheers,

Thanks, Pete. That will save a lot of us bugging WW. The Port of San Diego site shows the Heijin's estimated arrival date en route back to the Panama Canal, so maybe it isn't expected to be in Port Hueneme very long. My dealer doesn't seem to have a clue, unfortunately for me.

That was my guess, too. I guess with a name like "Freedom", you'd have to expect 37 pages of boats

Hey,Winechic, we're going to be driving Pigwidgeon across the country in July--we'll be driving across Texas, probably by the Grand Canyon, around other Southwestern areas, up through Utah and into Idaho. I'll have to watch for you!!

Congrats Schnell! Looking good.

WannaMINI: Dobby called. He said he got lost along the way (thumping his head against the wall while saying this). Mentioned something about you should have gotten the GPS.

Charlie wants to know if he misses the English fish & chips yet.
