well I'm brand new here... been checking it out for a few weeks and finally signed up.

My MCS is built and Awaiting Transport according to the Owners's Lounge. That's all I know - how have some of you come to have such detailed info as what boat your car is on? that's awesome!

I saw the ASK MINI phone number posted below - is that more helpful than the Lounge online? and what is the WW site?

I too am going nuts and I haven't been waiting nearly as long as some of you - I ordered on April 28. I was told 8 weeks, maybe 6 maybe 10.

thanks everybody
Trevor

Owner's Lounge is worthless, except to get your VIN number. Once you write down your VIN number, go to this site:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/GLWebApps.AppTracking

Click on auto, and enter your VIN and tell us what it says. You could very well be at sea and not even know it! Welcome!

*INDEPENDENCE NEWS*

Ack!!! She's going to be a day late. She's now expected in NY/NJ on the 23rd, not the 22nd. I know that extra day waiting in Southampton would kill us! Arg.

She's also experiencing 9 foot seas. Is that a lot for a ship her size?

9 foot seas are very typical of the North Atlantic as far as I know. 20-30 foot and you're in trouble!

Well, this evening I am off to the UK until June 1st. I'm glad I got to put 150 miles on my MINI before the trip. He's safely stored in a friend's garage in the burbs.

I hope that some of you will be enjoying your cars as well when I return

I'll try to get some pics of the factory in Oxford, and I'll tell them to keep up the good work...it's too bad all the tours were booked already.

BostonMark- Have a great trip to the UK say hi to my mini.

Wannamini-good to see you're still around, I though maybe they saw how much time you had been spending on the internet and disconnected you. Thanks for the lovely picture. I have been having bottling problem nightmares all week now I'm going to be dreaming of my mini, dead, in a ship wreck on top of that. At least we are almost done with the bottling.

alright! now we're talking...

my car is on the Independence along with a bunch of you. so arriving in NYC 5/23, does anyone have an idea about how long the cars are typically at the Distribution Centers?

thanks for pointing me to the shipping site, that is great. feels good to know how much closer it is now.

Well, maybe the ghost ship will be able to slip through the Panama Canal without having to pay the toll.

Cheers,

Thanks WannaMINI and winechic. If I see a capsized WW ship from my airplane, I'll be sure to contact you

Funny thing is that I was going to post that picture, but I didn't want to make you all even more nervous!

Seriously though, have a safe trip and enjoy it. You renting a mini while you're up there?

Ok, for those on the Independence....Does ANYONE show as being "en route" instead of awaiting trasnport? I like to think we trust WW more than the owner's lounge. 'Cause if we didn't make the Independence OR the Jingu, then I like the think we made the midweek ship.

I'm 85% sure that we are on the Independence because she's been at sea for 5 days now, and we are all still "loaded on vessel." Anyone want to up my 85%? Please?

agreed - we are on the Independence. OL seems to be hopelessly out of date. I was amazed to see that my car, according to WW, had been at sea for days when for two weeks I was sweating it out at OL seeing "Awaiting Transport." It still says that, but I'm not putting any stock in OL now.

I'm pretty darn sure our MINIs are riding the waves as we type!

AAAAND, the Independence is closer to NY than the Jingu Maru is.

Another newbie here (I guess we all are, at some point). . . ordered my MCS DS/W on 5/5, production completed on 5/17 and found out today the Gray Ghost will be cruising on the Andes Highway due to depart on 5/26 and arrive in Charleston on 6/10.

btw - OL stills shows "Scheduled for Production". I'd say it's a little out of date.

Thanks to all fellow posters for the info on how to track.

Well all you lucky Independece folk, you will know if you are aboard very soon (3 to 4days) cuz you are do to hit the US then. This part must be almost the hardest part of the wait.

Have any of you concidered the extended service warranty? Or researched what it will run post inital purchase to buy. I need to see what the service intervals are and estimate cost to see if it is worth the $500-$600. We shall see.

I have gotten the skinny on the fees at my dealer. No dealer prep. reasonable doc. fees, very good news.

Independence folks-

I called ASK-MINI last night and he said that according to their records Phire is at the "Port of Entry". He mentioned that the Independence should be unloading on the 23rd, so I doubt that the ship is actually "at the port". However, I do have confidence that our girl is making her way to NJ/NY.

All this said, I'm 95% certain that we're on the Independence since all of our VINs still say "loaded".

Belle's Ride, my 2004 IB/IB MCS is built, and is at the port awaiting shipping. This is a west coast car so I understand it is 30 days at sea and a week or so more to my dealer. It will be a great July 4th holiday!

My Owner's Lounge status finally updated to "en route" today...so there's my 100% confirmation.
