Happy Cinco de Mayo. to you as well Pete.

Thank you for the ship info. I can not believe that it is Cinco de Mayo already. I will have to have some cervesas (i personlly prefer the Modelo Especial hard to find here) tonight or some mojitos, ciperinas, margaritas so many options so little time, such a poor speller.

Have a nice day all I am off to the wine, gotta taste all morning, blah, too much this week.

Modelo Especial. Excelente! Que Padre! We drink mojitos every New Year's Eve and they pretty much knock us on our butts.

I'm glad to hear that we slow poke Westerners won't be abandoned when everyone else already has their minis. We will have to live vicariously through you for a while.

Pipe in some Mariachi music to set the proper mood for any postings today.

Salud,

I had to go back and check the list - so that's a day or two LATER than they originally said? I'm sorry.

.- In fact, this morning? This website was the VERY first thing I pulled up - OOPS!

______________________________________________

Me too first thing when I come in, go to NAM to this post to get the update on everyone. No monitoring here though. I supose they could if they wanted. But it is such a small company. 40 or so employees including the vineyard crew. so they don't even bother.

Winechic,

Which part of the country are you in? Do you work at a winery? (If so, very cool)

When I called ASK-Mini yesterday... they said the car should be done by Monday the 10th. If my car is really done that day, can anyone guess which ship I might get on?

And if I will be getting my car from the dealership in Stamford, CT.. does anyone think I might be able to get it by June 5th? (I know that there is no way to know for sure.. but I was just wondering if anyone thinks there is a chance that the car could make it to CT by then)

Thanks!

Here is the shipping info.

If the info on the board is correct you will hopefully get on one of the ships on the 18th or 19th. It would be miraculous to get on one of the ships on the 14th. It seems like you have a shot at getting it by the 5th of june. What happens on that day?

Yee Haa, I am finally out of neutral and in first gear! That's better than another group I belong to where I am still considered a "junior member." I don't like the sound of that much.

Winechic: Are you in California? I am in Sacramento (home of the Governator). Maybe I can stop by and try some of your wines. I am actually going to be in Napa valley for the next two weekends.

WannaMini: My est completion date is also 5/7. That is if Dobby and Padre haven't been playing hooky and fallen behind in ther progress.

Cheers,

Thanks for the info. I had seen the ship schedules.. but I have no idea how long it takes for the cars to get to port after production.. and if the ships are already filled or anything.

The reason I would like to get the car by the 5th is that my wife and I will be taking a road trip to Cape Cod for a week, and it would be awesome to take the Mini!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

Thanks again.

Don't you guy's and girl's use the MINIUSA web site to track your MINI's production.
I can understand the excitement but you would be best served by going way back in these threads and reading what has already been learned and shared about MINI ownership.

I'm really hoping to have my MINI by June 11 so my husband can tow our other vehicle when he moves our stuff cross-country. We're moving from Alabama to Idaho. If the MINI isn't here by then, I'm not sure what we're going to do, since I have to have something to drive to work. I might end up renting a car until Pigwidgeon gets here.

He's already in Idaho (closing on our new home as I type). He'll be out there working until the end of June, when I finish up with work. Then he'll fly to meet me and we're going to take a couple of weeks and drive Pigwidgeon across the country--using as many twisty roads (and as few interstates) as we can !

I think it's less about the efficient exchange of information and more about the camraderie and fellowship of the shared waiting experience...surely you understand. We do use the Owner's Lounge but it's less than specific or accurate.

wmba, my car was completed on a Monday and at sail on the Liberty by the next Sunday. She was originally scheduled for a ship which was to leave much later but then waitlisted on the Liberty and shipped out. Incidentally, the OL still shows her as awaiting transport.
Good luck!

Not as fun as it sounds. Just spent from about 11:30 until now, 3:30, tasting. I am now quite tired and have to write the winemakers notes from the crazy scribles the winemaker and I made during the past four hours. Not a bad gig if you can get it thuogh.

What about you, I think I remember reading something about a fortune 100 company. Way to high stress for my liking.

I too live in the state of the Governator. I live and work in the wine country, and I make wine. hence the stupid screen name, I am not very creative. Unfortuneatly I am at one of those close to the public wineries, so I really can't have many visitors for tastings ect... Though I do love going wine tasting so if you want tasting discounts ect... I may be able to do that. (Industry discounts on wine and free tasting almost everywhere, plus all my friends make wine too so I know lots of people)

Maybe I should be really cliche(sp) and get a licence plate that says Chardannay?

Got another update! I am status 155...assembly finished, in quality check! Essentially, the factory is done thought technically I'm still "in production". The ASK-MINI person told me that from here on out, they can't tell me much more about estimated delivery time. SO I guess from here, it's the WW website that'll be getting a million hits a day from me.

Woo hoo! Progress progress progress!

>>i have noticed that everyone is hoping to get their mini at a specific time. have u guys planned around getting ur mini.

I've been waiting for the "May Build" since August of 2003, when I put down my deposit (the SECOND time I've put down a deposit, actually - I test drove an MCS for the first time in August 2002, and put down $1000 immediately. Cancelled the order, grudgingly, a few months later when I decided a house/garage should be my first priority). Planned the May '03 build out in advance to ensure my MCS would be available at the end of July '04. Why? Because my future wife (she hates the 7-letter f-word) and I will be flying out to Portland from Detroit to pick it up and road trip back across the country. Sure, we could have bought it from Motor City MINI, but that's not as exciting, is it? So far this is our itinerary: July 30, pick up at Rasmussen MINI. Two weeks of exhilarating motoring down the Pacific coast, back up through Vegas and Utah, and August 14 we'll attend a wedding (not ours) in Montana. Then high-tail it back to the D, and back to the reality of flat/straight/sh*tty pavement and, of course, work. To help soften the blow, the first weekend we're back home is the Woodward Dream Cruise. So in my case, yes, I've planned around getting (finally!) my MINI. And after all this wait, the closer I get to the big day, the more excrutiating the wait becomes!!! I'm glad to share in the suspense with the rest of you in this forum!
