OK--so I just called ASKMINI for fun. The automated recording told me "in transit". Is that the same as "en route"--as in, on the boat--or is it "in transit to dealer"? The live customer service had nothing for me....said their info stopped after the car hits the boat.

Don't want to bug my MA quite this early in the week... Wondering if its possible I've passed through the VDC already...I would doubt that, personally...

 

My fingers are crossed. The Freedom should sail from southampton tomarrow, I sure hope to be on it. All of the mini's booked on her are "wait listed" so I sure hope that we make it. How exciting.

I am so glad your ship came in as schedueled. It is down to weeks or days for you all now How hard it must be for you all. I just realized that it will be about one more month until I get to pick up my new baby and it seems like this whole wait is going really fast. I still need to take care of financing, incurance etc... And I am so busy I don't know when I will get it all done.

I am soooo excited though!

 

I was right there with you WannaMINI - getting nervous about my car sitting on that boat for a little unscheduled tour of the Eastern Seaboard. I want to be behind the wheel if it ever gets up and down a coast!

But we are on the loose now! here's hoping they're having a good week at the VPC and they move them through FAST!! and BEFORE the holiday next Monday.

 

Couldn't call in over the weekend (Outside of normal business hours), but I called first thing this morning - - - As far as the ASK MINI computers are concerned, mine has advanced from 150 to 153 (Assembly?) since Friday. I wish I could watch!!!

Oh great! Now you did it. You had to remind me it was a holiday weekend! Anyone who knows the PA turnpike knows that it certain spots, there is just enough room for two cars to drive through, let alone a car carrying semi and a grandpa-driven RV. Oh, I know! That was my problem, too is that I wanted to watch!!! MINI should sell tours where you can fly over there and take a tour and follow your car throught he assembly line. Granted, that's just for the most neurotic of us, but I would do it! I will update you.

AHA!! Another Harry Potter fan? It seemed perfect. Then when say the windshield cracks or the airbag light comes on, I can start to yell, "Bad Dobby!"

I'm actually in beautiful Akron Ohio - ordered from Classic MINI, the best. Luckily they are only about an hour away from me. BUT, say that truck makes a stop in Philly first (perhaps to unload your car?? ) and then has to treach the turnpike. Can I just drive to Philly and pick it up there? hahaha

I'd love to know what path the truck will take to get to Cleveland...I'm hoping there are enough cars headed to Classic that it's a dedicated truck!

I don't dare take that to be accurate, because I could possibly be building myself up for a let down if it comes a week after that. If that is anywhere NEAR accurate, that means I could be motoring within a WEEK. WOW. There is something so very exciting, yet very scary about that!!!!!!

OL said my ETD was 5/13 when the car actually came in two days later, a Saturday. It then took several more days because the shop "detailed' the freshly arrived BMWs first. But soon, soon you will change from WannaMini to GottaMini. Good luck and thanks for starting this thread and monitoring it so diligently. Happy motoring.

What's your status on the OL. When mine said at the VPC, the delivery date was accurate. That was the day it arrived at Classic. If it says at VPC give your MA a call and see if you're on the list. They have a list that I think (stress on I think) shows when the car should be there (I think that means on the truck).

Soon, very soon you will motor. Let us know when you go to pickup, maybe I'll be getting my plates the same day. And I wouldn't mind meeting Dobby.

OL still tells me I'm En Route, when I know already that I'm off the boat with you guys... so now my heart is sinking as I see you all getting estimated delivery dates and you actually KNOW you're at the VPC... my little silver S isn't sitting all alone on the dock somewhere is it?

a different page of OL (the part I didn't look at before my minor rant above) shows an estimated delivery date of 5/28... but with status of En Route. Which to believe? sounds like people here have had accurate estimated dates given to them in the past, so i'm starting to get excited.

could I really be settling into my new MCS next week? that would be a mere 5 weeks from ordering! musn't think that way...

Did you look at your order summary? That's where I found my estimate. I bet you have one, too.

 

I can see from all of your postings that this is not going to get any easier. The closer it gets, the harder it gets.

As for the OL, it still shows Padre as Awaiting Transport. The WW site says that the ship left 15 days ago but also that the cars were loaded only 11 days ago. Still no sign of Heijin either. It is probably making some unscheduled drug runs from Columbia to Mexico or something. I'll have to have the dogs check the interior panels to make sure they didn't leave anything behind.

Oh it is FAB!! My little mini can't wait for the cruz. Great food and drink, dancing he's gonna party like a little rock star.
