Hey Cdconsor, I saw the Otello this morning on Accuweather as well. It does look like it moved over a grid. At least we are still on the map and working our way closer and closer to North America. There is a website for the Port of Halifax which also displays when ships arrive. I will look for it again today and post the hyperlink. Port Hueneme has a website as well but I was unable to find the link for ship arrivals.

The Jingu Maru is unloading in New York today. That is so exciting. Just think within days you will be driving your cars. Well I hope you all have a great day.

I've been busy trying to sell my house this week and have not checked in here for a while now. Its good to be back and to see all of the status updates. And welcome to all of the newbies!

I have also been trying to track the Phoenix everyday now with NO LUCK! AAARRGGHHH! I know its out there somewhere! Chuck, I'm glad to hear that you made it on a ship! Sounds awesome to be able to see it online! I wish that I can say the same.

I did receive an e-mail reply from the people at the Panama Canal site as to when the Phoenix is scheduled to arrive there. She should be passing through over the weekend!!! I am going to watch her on the live camera that is setup there... I'm such a geek! Here's the link: null There's an e-mail link on this page as well.

Otello was right above the A in Marine at 3:30 PST this afternoon. No other ships sighted.

OK, now for my own news, I read that some of you had Est Delivery Dates so I rushed over to the Owners Lounge and found I have a EDD of 10-29-03 !

If they'd all post their location like the Otello, we'd all be happy as clams!

I got my box set of Italian Job movies. I watched the old one last night and will be watching the new one in about 5 minutes. Just long enough for me to get a diet coke and some pop corn and sit down to watch it!!


oh, and I have a question for you - my MINI friends - If I chose a name for my MINI - like 6 months ago - but just now have thought of another one that I really like - can I change my MINI's name? I think I prefer Mr Bridger - the criminal mastermind. or should I combine the two and name it Madeline Bridger, like the mastermind's daughter? oh well, I'll sleep on it and don't be shocked when I tell you what I've decided!!!

Do you have to go to court for a name change? Maybe we could elect Ryan the November Club Justice of the Peace. Then he could make it legal. Personally I prefer Madeline Bridger. When we got our SPCA dog I wanted to name her Moon Pie (she has a little white bib on a black body, it looks like marshmallow stuffing). Anyway my wife wanted to name her Minnie. So she became Minnie Moon! But I digress. I've been trying to finalize a name for my car. When it was all silver I was going to name him Spike. Now I'm not sure that works with Indi Blue. With that bulldog good looks I was thinking of Sarg. Sort of the MINI in charge.

Thanks for the pictures Pebbles. It is so nice to see that the Otello has not sunk and is still on its merry way.

The Otello's estimated date of arrival to Halifax is October 20th. You can check the site for a daily ship status and see if it arrived on schedule. (I know this is pretty ****, but I need to past the "waiting for Gary time" somehow.) There is also a website for the Port of Hueneme, but no daily ship arrival report.

Lo mini, knowing the ship's in New York is making me really anxious! It's about all I think about, unless I have something I am working directly on. The moment my mind wanders, it's back to the unloading of MINIs in the USA thoughts!

Estimated Production Dates are the Friday of the week when a given car will be built. Mine was 10/17, but the car was actually assembled on 10/13.

To get more specific info about what's happening when, call 866/ASK-MINI and give them your production number. They get updated a lot more often then the Owner's Lounge.

I'd also suggest that you go back and look through this thread to find info about Mini tracking techniques, if you have the time. I picked up lots of tips that way.

I hear ya ?-man! It can be confusing! My estimated production date was 9/26. Production actually started on my MINI on 9/23, but didn't finish until 9/28! According to ASKMINI, it was in the paintshop for days! I'm still not sure what that was all about.

I was hoping that production would have been completed earlier (like a lot of other people here) so that it could make the Don Q. to California... but no such luck! If it had made that ship, I'd probaby be picking up my MINI this week!. AARRGGHH!!

Instead, I had to wait another week and a half (at the docks in South Hampton) for the Phoenix D. which is not scheduled to arrive in Cali until the end of the month! Then it can take another week or so after that before its arrives at the dealer!

So, there's no real way to gauge when exactly your MINI will be completed and loaded onto a ship. I would just keep calling ASKMINI (don't bother with the website) and checking in here... between Ryan, Pebbles, and the rest of us here, the tracking of your MINI is in good hands! Good luck!

Julie at Classic Mini just called, my car's at the dealer. Now my party is still waiting for two more cars to come in and they will be shipped to CA leaving OH on Nov. 1 and arriving in Santa Clara on Nov. 8..........looks like my b-day's coming 13 days early this year.......YAHOO!!!!!

 

I called Ask-MINI and I have been released to distribution today. I just checked WW's site and it looks as if I am booked on the Tosca which leaves 10/25 and arrives in NY on 11/2. The tracking page has 2 lines, One is Booked, the other is READY TO SCAN AT TERMINAL. BElow this it says *Cargo is in waitlist status, but ther eare o * anywhere else. I am assuming that I am definitely booked on the Tosca?
