OK I'm a worried new mother!!!!
and No, I really don't think that I want to have it changed. The photo taken from the side shows the curve in the roof and from that angle it's perfect! I guess people shouldn't go around standing on chairs to look at car roofs !

I'll keep him just as he is!!! I love him!

Thanks everyone for the compliments! That's the answer I wanted and you guys are the greatest! I'm just escentric enough to want something special about my car and I believe that flag it is! and if I ever want an All over UJ, I'll for sure get it from Cooper Flags!

Well, I'm off to bed. Maybe I'll sleep good tonight!

I have to admit - it was so easy to drive, I put it into 3rd while looking for 5th! and not just once, I did it twice. Then I started paying attention!! I now have 114 miles on it! More miles tomorrow!

Congrats Pebbles! Mr Bridger looks great. I could not see anything wrong in the photos. And so what if he's a little off. Aren't we all? Just consider it part of the MINI personality.

...tick, tick tick indeed. Tanabata sails from Baltimore today. I should be at the VPC on Friday. The local club has a monthly meeting about 2 minutes from my house on Friday. I think I'll go hang out. This will no doubt trigger another MII crisis.

Hi Pebbles,

Congrats on your new Baby ! She looks great!

I've been looking at the pics of your UJ, and I don't see anything wrong with it. The RED diagonal stripe pieces are off-center on the white, but they're supposed to be. I think it looks fine !!

Have a BLAST !!

TA TA FOR NOW !!

Anyone else on the TOSCA actually get confirmation on the WW site that it was dropped off in NY? Mine still shows as on the ship but the OL says an EDD of 11/13 so I',m assuming it did get let off.

Hi Lee,

I was on the TOSCA. Spoke with ASK-MINI and they said it was safe and sound in Jersey. From here on, they said my dealer would have better info on the delivery status. My EDD is next Wednesday, so I figure I'll wait a couple of days, and then call the dealer to see what's going on.

One-Week Later Assessment
Well it's already been over a week since picking up Mr.Motor2. Initially it was eerie having an identical configuration to the first MCS, but since changing a handful of things, the car feels "individual" on its' own now. I have about 430 miles on the odometer now. I can't really give an impression of how he drives because he was always getting new performance parts!

Lots of action around here lately!

Pebbles - your car, and your flag, look great. CR/W with the UJ and Aero Kit was a bold choice. Awesome.

Waypoint - looking good. Did the dealer install the aero grille? I thought that was strictly DIY.

Tosca peeps - you're getting warmer!

Traveler - the Tanabata should be leaving Balt for Charleston today. I just checked WW, and it hasn't sailed yet. I'll definitely be compulsively checking that site today! I even tried to e-mail the Baltimore port people, but they didn't write back.

And now, a rap song in honor of Blue Brummie:

Tick to the tick to the tick yo,
I gots to get my Mini off the boat yo.
Tick to the tick to the tick yo,
My MII gots a lump in my throat yo.

That's the best I can do at 9 AM.

Pebbles, Ryan, Waypoint - all looking great! I am quite literally green with envy (ok I'm wearing a green sweatshirt but you get the idea).

So is the WW site supposed to tell you that your precious cargo was unloaded? The Otello has sailed from Port Hueneme but for all I know my MINI is on his way to Hawaii

Cheers,

Chuck

Yes the W/W site will say the word DISCHARGED and the date and time.

I printed it when I saw it and was really happy because the next day I tried to call up my VIN to show someone and it said "cargo not found" ... so in a flash you are out of their computer!

Okay, looks like I'm a new member of this club. Made a deposit yesterday on a IB/B MCS with 3 packages, auto-wipers, lapis leather, H/K. I'm told she's sitting on a dock on the other side of the pond and that she'll be her around Thanksgiving. Does that mean she'll be on the Otello? How do I use the WW site to track her? Argh!!! Can't wait. (Sorry...I know a lot of you waited FAR longer.)

OK, the WW site now says Discharged from the TOSCA. I guess they were just a little bit behind updating.

Okay, just figured out the WW site. Looks like my baby was loaded onto the Jingu Maru on Monday and is projected to arrive in New York a week from today. Then I can really start losing my mind knowing she's in the country but I can't have her yet.

Pebbles (or anyone else),

Just wondering, does a "discharged" status on the W/W site mean the car has passed any of MINI's incoming inspection criteria, or only that it was unloaded??

Ciao,
BB-

That is just off the ship and turned over the MINI.

And welcome Fenian. To call your wait short would be a bold understatement. You'll be motoring in no time at all.

woohoo my car is in NY!!! Then it should be at my dealer on the 12. Then My mouth will drool!! and I will slip on my floor and hit my head. Which will knock me out. Then when I wake up, the wait will be over, and I can pick up my Mini.

( bored at work )

Thanks for the info. Apparently they are a little behind the curve here in CA. No one is listed as DISCAHRGED from the Otello - all 50 still listed as loaded on vessel.

Bugger! I want my MINI!

Hey Traveler, you beat me to it! Looks like we're on schedule to make Charleston on Friday. Too bad the Accuweather map had the Tanabata somewhere near Nova Scotia as of this afternoon.

Welcome Fenian to the club! Another beautiful IB/B !!! My MINI rode the Jingu Maru (call sign JPPT) I didn't see it at all for his whole voyage. Then after dropping off MINIs in NY and SC, the JPPT showed up over and over for each day it sailed back to Southampton! (go figure that) ... Either way it's so fun to track.

OK from how I understand the map, I think there are two WCZ55 ships out there. I've even seen them both on the map at the same time. I know for sure the one near North America is the WCZ5535 - Tanabata!

Update - 24 hours
I love my MINI! Some kids were walking and as I went by a boy yelled "I like your British Flag" ... well that removed the last speck of worry I had about that Union Jack. I now totally love my car! It drives easy and smooth. I think the radio on the MFSW is easy to use. I have about 180 miles on it and there is a brake dust issue starting. I'm prepared to wash those wheels 3 times a week if I have to! The only things I've found odd were things I didn't understand. I heard a clunk every time I started up, I'd pick up a friend and we'd start to go and CLUNK... then I remembered, I have the doors set to auto-lock when I start to drive! Hello

On a personal note, I'm still not sleeping well at all. I thought it would change after Mr Bridger got here but last night I was up twice. My mind is going 90 mph! It's hard to settle down for the evening! (where's my margarita mix?)

Congrats on all the MINIs that got Discharged! That word Discharged seemed odd to me. But then again so did those dates, the day, month, year business!!! The 5th of November always looks like May 11th!!! and Discharged sounds to me like they'd been kicked out or removed with bodily force or something!!!

** I found these link maps will update as the ships report to the weather sites' master maps! **

You are now free to go blind looking for your ships !
