moby - you really need to get on your dealerships case! Two weeks for prep and paint for the Aero Kit is absurd!

Well I took possesion of it tonight !! Too chicvken to drive home in Rush hour, Icy, night, 1st time w/ manual tranny since 94 and not to mention euphora perf tires and not snow shoes, so I'll get it in the morning. Spent about what seemed like 40 minutes just sitting in the car checking stuff out!! The guys buffed out the car, looks so different than when I took these pics the day it rolled off the truck. I 'll be sure to take some pics tomorrow.

not that I'm dying for one, but how does one get one of these mugs? do they come from the dealer or MINIUSA?

btw, my new MINI has been taking a rest for a few days now... one of my runflats is flat!! Apparently, none of the dealers here in the L.A. area carry them in stock! AAARRGGGHHH!!! I'm not even sure if this would be covered under the warranty. Does anyone know???

---> Jet - unfortunately, Tires are one of those things that aren't covered under anything, GRRRRR Tire Rack carries the tires (in stock, I believe) but make sure to have an authorized run-flat tire store do the mount and balance (like a Goodyear EMT Certified).

Good luck!

I got my mug from the dealer, as well as 2 key chains, 2 tee-shirts, a 1:28 scale model (IB no less, but with a white roof) as well as a cap.

Picked up last Saturday. Good and bad.

Good: Smooth deal, no surprises and free floor mats thrown in without asking.

Bad?

1) I was not asked about programming daylight running lights, 10 mph door lock etc. What I got was the stock settings. When I asked if it was free for any dealer to do this I got no answer worth anything.

2) I hear that they were to give you a CD of music for the drive home. I got zip.

3) The stereo was not programmed to any stations

4) The windows could have been cleaner.

5) Although they had MINI clothing and stuff to sell they were more interested in getting me out of the door so they could process the next customer. Well I guess I'll just buy aftermarket stuff online.

In general these are not complaints, just observations of things that could have been done better. As things turned out I would have picked the 10mph door lock anyway but now that I found out you have to open the door twice to get out, I would not take the option. So a trip to the dealer to switch will happenm anyway.

General notes: My Mercedes would not even fit in my garage because it was too long (17 feet 6 inches!). The MINI fits so easily that I realize I didn't have to sell my Honda VFR750! Oh well.

Stumble? Yeah, a bit. NOno to thr yoyo though.

Miniusa.com still says "En Route" for mine.

It was built Oct. 17. Did the boat capsize?

--->savage65: Important Note: For 2004 the automatic door locks are not programmable, they are stuck on. The BCM is different than '03's and previous, and the option to have the doors auto-lock at 10MPH or not is NO LONGER. Get used to two pulls to open your door, unless you flick the central lock toggle first.

--->Kurtster, you should be taking delivery any second. Call your dealership and ask what's up. You can also give ASK MINI a jingle to make sure it's gone through the VPC and is on its' way.

I feel like the bearer of bad news lately, yuk I'm doing a "baseline" dyno run to see how the engine performs before I do all my engine mods. After all my mods (next weekend), I'll go back after a few hundred miles and do another dyno run. The Delta should be FUN.
Cheers,
Ryan

Hey everyone, I picked up "Joe Mini" today. The sales manager called and said it was ready. I had to scramble for plates, but in the end it all worked out.

p.s. The definition of hard: Having a brand new Cooper S and the Autobahn 5 minutes from my house. Time to motor through the break in.

I also received the orange and silver mug. I think it's pretty thoughtful considering it's just about the only mug that will fit in those cup holders (even though I have the complimentary MINI Fini, however ugly it may be). But nothing else. All I got was the mug and a motoring gear pamphlet that I already had from the dealer.

I recently purchased those COOL tail lights with white dots for the turn indicators (which are currently orange). I had originally planned on clear tail lights but I have decided against them and think that these will accomplish the look I'm going for while not appearing too "ricer" or whatever. I'm real excited! When I install them I'll also do the brakelight mod and will post pics for the Nov club!

I hope everyone is enjoying their new babies, and for those of you who don't have them yet... hold on! Time will fly by with the holidays and all. Motoring is such fun!

--->04CooperS - Congrats on your delivery!

Big news today - I got MM2 dyno'd. My friend found a DynoJet Chassis dyno nearby and setup an appointment; so today we Motored over there are hooked up the MINI. Each brand of dyno is different, however DynoJet is the "industry standard" and typically represents the most accurate numbers provided everything is done correctly. Anyway, since I don't have a scanner I had to take the raw data printout and turn it into an Excel graph; here are the three pulls of my bone-stock engine:
I will have a follow up set of dyno pulls in a few weeks after the Pulley Party and all the engine mods.

Cheers, and Motor-On,
Ryan

Hello everyone ! I am back from my New Orleans Vacation!

I had a fantastic time! 2 couples I know from Florida drove up and the 5 of us had a blast. I am tired !

Mr Bridger drove fantastic! I drove down Saturday and came back today .
1042 miles total trip!

On the way I ran through some construction in Beaumont and all sorts of rocks flew up on the car. We were going 75 mph and at one point 2-3 of them hit me really hard. Once in New Orleans I had a chance to wash the car and as I was drying him off... I saw a scratch in the paint on the hood. It's from a rock! I want to freak but I won't! Can the dealer fix something like that?

Anyway, I really missed my Nov club! I haven't had a chance to read what I missed, but I can see from the photos that more were picked up!! YEA !!!!

oh, and Happy Thanksgiving too!

One thing I did notice was my digital speed indicator on the tach reads 4 mph faster than the big speedometer. Will take alittle getting used to I guess. Has anyone else noticed this? Will have to find one of those roadside radar gun signs (whatever they are called  ) to see which one is more accurate.

Congrats night_shifter! all BRG looks stealthy, in a slightly greener way My digital speed readout is dead-nuts to the big center dial, no discrepancy, hmmm.

YUK - we got our first real snow today MM2 was promptly locked up in the garage, because I am NOT ready to put his snow boots on yet!

Motor-On,
Ryan

Hello All,
Picked up my EB MCS from East Bay MINI last Monday. What a kick! No stumbles, rattles, buzzes, creaks or groans. Installed the Alta intake the next day. COOL supercharger whine! Can't wait to take it to redline!

Ryan, I know how you feel, I haven't put snow shoes on yet myself,,but then it snows, the roads are cleared, and eventually the roads are dry, so maybe I won't need snow tires?

It's great that some of the November crowd are getting some goodies. I haven't received anything either from MINIUSA or the dealer: not a keyring, or mug or anything. Swine. Maybe I need to email MINI and **** em off
Still, my car is nice and shiny after cleaning all the crap off it.

Well as of today my MINI says "At Distribution center.
The dealer is closed Sundays so i can't get a dealer update.
Built Oct. 17
Dealer said it would be in Nov. 22.
On Nov. 19, I arranged for Dec. 1 pick up at 5pm. That's tomorrow.

If it's not ready, I'll frickin' die.
I literally go from the airport (from Boston to CA) straight to the dealer to get it. If it's not ready they'll need to provide me with a way to get home.

Agggghhhh!!

*** you need to have it checked by your dealer. Mine is right on the money! When the speedo is pointing at 70 the digital says 70.

It's great to see the photos of the new MINIs!!!

Kurtster - you'll have your baby tomorrow! No sleep tonight! It's like Christmas Eve when you were 12 !!! Your dealer knows you are flying in to pick it up so made sure it would be totally ready for you. I guess you could call them at 10am and make sure before heading to the airport!

Have fun picking it up! Don't be anxious on the plane (I hate planes)...
and be safe driving home !!!

No, Traveler! Wait! Gotta wait for those of us who are still heading home from picking up our babies! I've not had good luck uploading pics to the site, so I'm goint to see if Ryephile can do it for me, but David and I picked up our MINIs yesterday in Portland, Oregon. We had an incredible time...picked up the cars, went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night, and headed home this morning. The only fault I've found with my car is an odd rattle in the h/k system in the upper speaker on the system during a high treble. Other than that,. the car has been a gem. We had such fun driving them both home, and watching the reactions of people who seem to have never seen such a car before--the benefits of living in a MINI--deficit environment.

Another downside--a nasty rock chip on the way home. I think that these cars need force fields.....

aww Martin - the credits never roll here in the CWFxClubs! There's continuous out-takes, bloopers, and of course the "coming back for more" stories! It's great to hear how everyone's MINI is coming along - A month from now it would be great to get a status check, like mileage, mod's people have done (if I've even got any left to do by then!), places we've Motored, and anythine else that's fun!

--->Dannette and David - you can email me your pics, I'll upload them here at NAM and post 'em here on The November Club

Cheers, and Motor-on Forever,
Ryan
