Yo Traveler!

This is our big day! I'm just glad they didn't toss my car overboard for being a cheeky bugger.

Your story reminded me of that scene in Titanic where all of the steerage passengers are dancing on tables in the 3rd class dining room, while the stuck-up first class people are eating in the fancy dining room. MINIs in steerage partying, BMW 5s and 7s being snooty upstairs!

So, how many times have you checked WW so far? I'm about to go for my 4th right now. Whichever of us sees it first has to post here pronto!

spoonleg - SONA looks really sharp, I like the white sunroof

pebbles - sure glad you got all the paint splatter off Mr. Bridger...those events are not good for the nerves...

Well..today was the day to pick up Mistoffolees, BUT I got a call from my MA at about 10:30am. The MINI is all set for pickup at 1:00pm, however...my JCW kit arrived this morning....so I have a choice, pickup Mistoffolees in the cold drizzley rain, or wait until next week and let them get started on the Works install.

Yep...posting pics will have to wait until next week...I think my MII has broke the double digits...maybe I'll just pick up the latest copy of MiniWorld or wax the SSR Comps while I'm waiting....

I have the identical time. That must be when they post it. Maybe they are already moved to the VPC. I must have checked that site 12 times today. Feet dry.

Congrats Traveler and Countrym !! Your MINIs are in the "black hole". This will be a very quiet time! No news about it until you get the call from your salesman saying "your MINI was delivered by truck today".... I called my poor salesman and gave him my cell number and told him to forget calling home or work just use the cell number. I kept that phone charged up and with me at all times!

Waypoint - Congrats on getting the JCW kit ! Those parts dept guys are really good! and what a choice, pick up your MINI on a terrible damp day and then later return it for the JCW.... or wait a few days and pick up a JCW MINI ! DUH! that's no choice!!

I am getting SO jealous, my MA says it will be here next week. I got out of kneee surgery yesterday so shifting is going to be a challenge for a while,,,I'm considering it therapy though !!!

Waypoint, pebbles, spoonleg, KEWL !!!

Ryephile, If I recall, the Michelin Pilot Alpins are the same size as well? I have got to order my snow shoes as well in a hurry!! Costco had them for $143 installed with road hazard.

UKNUT ! Lynnen on Monday ! Very good ! It's been a long wait! I knew you were right behind me when you joined us the first of Sept! and sure enough I got Mr Bridger on Tuesday of this week and you'll have Lynnen Monday, 6 days later!

This will be a long weekend! Get out the broom for the garage and catch up on any yard work, raking of leaves, etc... you won't have time for chores after your MINIs get here!!! You'll want to Motor for several days!

and fourkeelers - when my MA said next week, it ended up being Tuesday! I have my fingers crossed for you! and take care of that knee! I found that the clutch is so easy! I was totally amazed. I have found driving my MINI to be very smooth ! Your knee will need PT, and driving may just help you strengthen it ! Enjoy those pain killers while you have them That's the ticket, to help with the wait, take a pain killer and take a nap!!!

Yeah, I just spoke with my MA. It looks like I'll pick up my MCS two weeks from tomorrow at the latest, sooner if I decide to play hooky during that week to go over to Jax and pick it up. (I think we all know I'll end up playing hooky! ) He thought it probably wouldn't be ready by the 15th, and I have football tickets for FSU vs. NC State for that day anyway.

UKNUT, you are so psyched! You should probably take some NyQuil and sleep until Monday, so you can avoid the hair-pulling and obsessive pacing you're sure to experience in the next 60 hours.

Traveler, I guess all the cars get discharged at the same time, officially. Either that or Blue Moon and my (as yet nameless) MCS rolled off the Tanabata side by side. Some kind of Indi Blue procession, I guess!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

When does the easy part start?

Waypoint - I don't know how you do it. I'd be sleeping at the dealer.

I ordered the carpet mats the other day from Classic MINI. They charged $75.60 plus shipping. I had read on the OL Forums that Momentum MINI charges something like $185.

Well, I finally got back from Operation Iraqi Freedom and the day I get home, the email arrives with my VIN. So, my MCS is being built this week for delivery in 2-3 weeks....gotta love living in Germany. Today we went down and paid the remaining amount. All I have to do now is wait for the call from the local BMW/Mini dealer saying she's ready to pick up. Wheee.........time to motor is coming soon.

Welcome "home" 04CooperS. Being stationed in Germany you won't have to wait for that long boat trip across the Atlantic. Just out of curiosity, how do the cars get to Germany from Oxford? Is it a boat ride or do they route them through the chunnel? Did you buy a US spec car to eventually take home?

As I recall, I think they are trucked from the factory. Thats usually the way I see them on the autobahn...on carriers. Yes, she's US spec.

My neighbor borrowed "the Italian Job" from me last night, since I'm laid up with knee surgery recovery, he's offered to pick up the car for me later this week... What a nice neighbor!!

Ryan - The report on the paint is disturbing. I wonder if your dealer washed the car and contributed some of the damage. I am tempted to tell the dealer not to wash my car at all. I was up at Pep Boys yesterday getting some Fix a Flat and saw the 3M Swirl Remover. I almost bought a bottle. Looks like I'll need one.

  New Toy Report!

I was up at Big Lots (of all places) and found a 1/18 scale Hot Wheels die cast model for $12.99. It is an IB/W MINI Cooper with the 5 spoke silver wheels, space cloth and Nav. The only obvious inaccuracy is that it has the bee sting antenna instead of the shark fin. It's really pretty cool for 13 bucks. Even the steering works. Now where’s the Zaino?

This will be the placebo MINI until Blue Moon arrives.

Pebbles - I like your tags. I was trying to find some information on the TX DOT site but they say little about the personalized ones. I was going to settle for "State of The Arts" (cool star) or "Animal Friendly". Now you have me thinking about the personalized tags again. Is there a database that you can search to make sure that your selection is available?

Speaking of toys, my wife got me a 1/6 scale R/C Cooper for my birthday in Sept. I should post a pic or two for y'all to check out.

I don't think I'll Zaino it, since it's plastic.

Rye, that's BS about your paint. Definitely complain to your dealer!

One week to my EDD!

nope moby, you can only pick up your MINI after your dealership preps it. My MM2 sat in their parking lot for 4 days before they got around to it - patience is a virtue

Cheers!

I not talking about picking it up, I am talking about it being sent there. My dealer is only 5 mins away, I think I will just drive down and take a look to see if its on the lot.
