No, I'm sure they booted him off, perhaps had to use force!

One bit of good news! My salesman called me this evening. He wanted me to know the car would be here by the end of the month and he thought I could pick it up by the first week of Nov. He reviewed the options I wanted. He agreed to call me when it arrived at the dealership so I can drive down to take photos of him all dirty and newly arrived! He said he wasn't sure they could get the Rear Fog light switch so it may have to be added later. At this point, I've saved so many vacation days for when the MINI arrives, I'll just set aside one day for when the Rear Fog switch arrives. It's odd that he's giving me a date about a week longer than the Owners Lounge, but I think it's a buffer in case they get behind in the make ready and delivery. Anyway, they've always padded the days. When I ordered they were saying "end of Nov" and here it is the End of October! So if it ends up being the first week of Nov, I'm still way ahead of what I expected!!!

Pebbles - Keep us posted about your rear fog light experience. I am curious as to how much your dealer will charge for the labor.

Well my car will have been in Southhampton for a week as of tomorrow. To compensate myself for the wait I ordered my wheels and tires today. I ended up going for the G Racing Seki's from R Speed. I almost ordered from Wheelmax but after being disconnected 4 times  and put on hold I decided that their reputation for poor customer service must be well deserved. I'd hate to deal with them if I had a problem if they can't even take an order. Anyway dealing with Joseph at R Speed was a pleasure. We chatted for about 15 minutes about Miatas and Minis. I'm happy to do business with those who support MCO.

And Pebbles, let me know when your car is on the way to Texas. I'll ride up to I-10 and wave as it goes through Houston.

Spoonleg - Where is your car? We have not heard from you lately.

Pebbles, you're sure right when they talk about padding delivery. When we ordered the car in June we were told that we could expect the car in April or May of 2004! Seriously!!

MM2 is also "delivered from" as of 8am on the 20th. My guess is the IT guy for W&W got lazy and decided "heh, I'll just log them all in when I get back from partying over the weekend". I have a feeling all the NY stop Jingu Maru people are already half thru the VPC

Nuff for Now,
Ryan

Ahh! Ryan!! Aren't you soooo excited?? You can probably TASTE that MINI right now... it's oh so close!!

Plus you've got all your new tires and wheels and assorted other goodies to pay with! What more could a future MINI owner want??

Unfortunately us over in the South and Mid West have a while yet to go. only 9 more days til my EDD! That's worth something, IMHO.

How long did Mr Motor spend in the VPC? A few days? A week? What's average? I AM ANTSY!!

I wonder how MANY MINIs were discharged at the VPC in SC?? I hope only those of us in the CWFNC- that would be like, oh 3 or 4, right?!?! Then we'd be sure to get through super-fast!! I guess that's kind of unreasonable though. hehehe... wishful thinking!

Well the Tanabata is supposed to sail from Bremerhaven to Southhampton today, and I am no longer shown as wait listed. I'll believe when I am shown as loaded and underway.

My "waitlist" message is gone too, Traveler. Let's hope we get loaded Thursday. (That might make work a little painful on Friday, but I guess it's worth it!)

How about a pic of your new wheels?

spoonleg & ryephile - you guys have severely escalating MIIs. I suggest immediate medication!

This is addicting. I just checked WW and the evil waitlist message is no longer showing for my booking on the Tosca that leaves Southampton on 10/25 and arrives in NY on 11/2. I will be on vacation all next week so I guess I won't reliably be able to get to a computer and track its voyage across the Atlantic though.

YEA for everyone being loaded this week!
NO MORE WAIT LIST !

Ryan -
You are so lucky! The selling of the tires will be perfect with the delivery of MM2. I know you are going nuts not knowing where MM2 is. My group here in Austin met on Sunday and every person had a different amount of time their MINI spent at the VPC. One guy said his MINI was taken off the ship one day and 2 days later his dealer called saying it was there!! He freaked! There were also people who said their MINI was totally lost for a week or longer.

Spoonleg - You'll have to promise to post here the day your MINI gets to Houston! I'll make a SPY run to San Antonio to see if Mr Bridger is there. I'd love to know before they call me! I know the VIN number so it will be easy to see which MINI is mine. Hey, just thinking about an after-hours Spy Run is making me wish it was tomorrow!

Traveler - I like your thinking! If I knew what truck Mr Bridger would be on, I'd take a vacation day off from work to sit on I-10 to watch it go by!
and the night before I pick it up ?

Ryan - I just love your new TACH signature!

I liked the one from earlier today - but this TACH with your name in it is the living end!

Thanks Miss Pebbles, the tach-sig was actually by accident! I really like it too

I'm in a bit of a confusion about my snow/all-season tire situation. Basically, once I take delivery and put my 10 spokes on, I'll see what I want to to stylistically for the 2nd set, and go from there. My tire options will work out among a few options from there. Whew, I just gotta breath and think clearly

spoonleg - Did you get a Cooper Flags sunroof decal? I've been thinking about getting either the Union Jack or the Texas flag, but I'm a little nervous about doing the installation. Do you plan to do it yourself?

My online status changed to "At Distribution Center" today, even though it was unloaded on the 16th. My dealer told me it could arrive any day.

Congrats, mcs2204 . . . please post a pic when you pick it up! And while you're at it, pick a peck of pickled peppers.

Traveler - I'm going to get a sunroof graphic from Cooper Flags, too. From what I've read they're easier to install than stripes or what have you on the metal surfaces. And it should keep me from getting skin cancer on my head, which my wife is particularly paranoid about for some reason.

So, the Tanabata is supposed to sail from Southampton tomorrow. Everybody please send the MINIs on the dock your good loading karma! My mantra is "Get loaded, get loaded, get loaded." Just like in high school.

Is it just me, or has this thread been quiet for the last couple of days? Where is everybody!!!???!!! ops: ops: ops: (Vast echo.)

OK, time to make dinner.

I like the yelling into the void line ---

Spoonleg - I called the parts dept and they said they can get the Aero Kit delivered in 3 days and knowing my MINI is on it's way, he'd make sure it's there. I plan on calling the dealer and saying I'm interested in seeing MINIs, so came by a couple days ago, but would like to see them in different colors. so before I drive all the way over, could she tell me if they have received any more on the lot for me to get to see in person. and if the receptionist says, why yes, we got some in today... I'll drive down for my spy mission!

I really going into withdrawal from being able to track the car.
Like there's nothing I can do but wait.
No weather maps to look at, no nothing.
This is the hard part!

I agree ..this waiting for our babys to exit the worm hole that transports them from the VPC to the dealer is killing me..

There's no way to let Mistoffolles know that UPS delivered his high tech racing shoes (BFG g-Force KDW2 on SSR Comps) or that his Zaino kit is waiting so he can make sure he looks his best.....aarrgghh

Hey Pebbles...if you spot Mistoffolees on your spy mission..drop him a hint...

This is sort of the calm before the storm. The October club is growing quiet as the new owners resume having a life. And here we sit anxiously awaiting the first sign that there are indeed new Minis on the way. I for one am very excited that someone, any of us will soon be taking delivery on their new car. This will help get me through the next 3 to 4 weeks before mine arrives.

Waypoint; congrats on your KDW2 and SSR Comp combo, those will be awesome! Did you get anthracite or silver, and tell us about the sizes you got, 18's?

I also got my tires mounted today onto my TZ-10's. Waypoint will be thrilled to hear I got the KDW2's competetor; the Parada Spec-2, in 205/45-17. I snapped some pics, but they mostly turned out crappy. So instead, I p-shopped what the wheels will look like on MM2, by using a favorite pic of MM1 Tell me what you think:

Minimal Delivery updates; MINIUSA.com OL updated my EDD to this Saturday, the 25th, and it's now listed as "at distribution center". Hopes for Saturday continue (crosses all fingers!)
Cheers,
Ryan

I just checked WW, and I'm loaded on the Tanabata! Woo to the Hoo!

Rye - your wheels will look great; nice photoshopping!

Pebbles - I have my VIN memorized, too. I think we're all nuts. In the good way.

Traveler - check the WW, baby! Are you on the Tanabata with me?

I just got a card telling me to pick up my MINI luggage and cool bag. I think I'll just wait until my car comes in. It's a three hour trip one way. Has anybody spotted the Tai Shan on the ocean map? I'll try again in a little bit. Later, Peace Out
