Thanks Pebbles. You read my mind while I was taking my lunchtime walk. I was just thinking "I've got to find those maps that Pebbles was using." Now I just need to clean these reading glasses.
Oh, and no Mini sitings downtown today. :???: How disappointing.

Yes, Traveler, that is right! I put WCZ5535 into the Accuweather site and it came up with "WCZ55" in the ID column, and listed the position as 52.8N 43.2W. I just checked the globe in my boss's office, and 52.8N 43.2W is right in the middle of the North Atlantic. I guess Accuweather could be wrong, but the position on the map and the position they have listed match up.
>>
Yikes! I see a WCZ55 half way across the Atlantic. Could that be right? The Coast Guard site listed the call sign at WCZ5535. I assume that they abbreviate on these maps.

You're right, it's weird. Maybe it's a lot easier to go west across the Atlantic than it is to go south along the coast, and it will slow down when it turns left . Or maybe the ship's going to sit around in Baltimore harbor for a few days before they dock. Or maybe that Nov. 2nd date is inaccurate. Or maybe it's going to stop somewhere before it gets to Baltimore, and the WW site doesn't show that.
Or, maybe they know that we really really want our MINIs ASAP and they're going extra fast as a personal favor to us.
>>Something just does not add up. This vessel is not scheduled into Baltimore until November 2nd. Does this captain have a girlfirend in Nova Scotia or something?

OK, I just looked again, and the Tanabata has disappeared from the map.
It didn't check in at 1524 or 1824, either. I'm assuming those are times, since the first report said 1224.
What the hell happened? U-Boat? Iceberg? It's nowhere near the Bermuda Triangle!

And can you believe that for 14 days I watched for the Jingu Maru - JPPT and I NEVER saw it --- yet just now - right now - it's 3 blocks from the top, just off the Canadian coast -- see it's going back to Southampton because it leaves again on 11-3. I can't believe that when it's empty I see it!! Murphy's Law!!!
Hey Folks,
Quick question. When I went to the Coast Guard Website, I found that the call sign for the TOSCA, the ship that's leaving Southampton on Oct 26, is S6AN. But, I can't find this ship either on the Accuweather site, or the ocean weather site.
Am I using the correct call sign ??

Yo Blue,
You ARE using the correct call sign. According to the WW site, the Tosca left Bremerhaven today. Since it hasn't been at sea long, there might not be a report for it yet.
Also, ships don't always show up, even when they are on the water. Like Pebbles said, her ship didn't show up the whole way across the Atlantic. It looks to me like they report in every three hours, and the info gets updated. If a ship doesn't report, then there's nothing on the map. I assume no news is good news.
Welcome to the club again; it's nice to have fellow compulsive MINI trackers to commiserate with!

Excellent. Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, it's good to know we're not alone in our "compulsive behavior". We'll all probably need some post delivery counseling. Wait, what am I talking about....., the best therapy will be getting behind the wheel and letting loose the horses !!!!
Yeee Haaa !!!!

countrym - Tanabata's back, even further west this time.
edit: here are the time and coordinates:
WCZ55 00z25 54.8N 40.1W
edit again
: Hold the presses. Earlier you had it at 43.2W. It's going the wrong way!
Is this the right boat?

>>MM2 arrived at Motor City MINI today at 11:30am. My MA claims that he can't deliver me tomorrow cuz "he's busy"
I am very very happy your car is there! With Mr Bridger delivered to Charleston a few days after your MM2 hit New York, I hope he gets to San Antonio one day next week. I can only get him on a Saturday so if it's not 11-1 it will be 11-8.
and Blue, if you don't want to bother with the weather sites, just come here and look at these maps. When I copied the page I found they both update as the master page on the weather site updates. and yes, I went 13 days without seeing the JPPT and now - again right now - it's up in the middle of the map near the top. I can't believe I can see it now twice in one day!!
We had a high yesterday of 92 and today 88 ! right now it's 74 !! But tomorrow we are getting a cold front! Woo Hoo! They forcast a high Sunday of 65 !!! Yea! Fall is here !

Well, I just got an update on the Phoenix Diamond... aka "the ghost ship". The ship carrying my MINI passed through the Panama Canal sometime Wednesday night. I didn't find out until the next day, so I missed watching it on the web cam. darn! Oh well! According to the WW site, the ship is now scheduled to hit Port Hueneme on Thursday. Hopefully, I won't have to wait too long after that. The port is only a hop, skip and jump away from LA.
I'm so excited for all of you who are about to meet your MINIs. Ryan, yours looks awesome! Is it true that they might discontinue this color? What a shame if they do.

Traveler - what does the OL at MINIUSA say for your status and EDD?
Afterwards I headed over my dad's and we worked on the Roadster for a bit, and then cleaned up the garage in prep for MM2. Tomorrow we're going to hang some florescent lights in the garage, so I can see what the hell I'm doing when I change out all my suspension
Today's MII is actually a bit less than Spoonleg's - I'm not foaming at the mouth, more of just a tense waiting, I'll say 7.8

Been motoring since about 13:30.
The car is as tight as a drum.
The pre-flight check revealed some issues.
-rear fogs weren't hooked up/new switch panel not installed even though they had supposedly done it on Fri.
-some light scratches on the hood and rear left quarter
-headlight washers would not work consistently
All went on an IOU, and the dealer will make good on all in a few days. Big thanks to Hrach.
Car needs exhaust for additional coolness--Borla, Borla Sport, Scorpion, whatever.
