R50/53 Can't Wait 4 November Club - Who's with me?
Its nice to see that I'm not the only club member on the Phoenix Diamond. CDconsor, where is your MINI heading once it lands in Cali?
All this talk of getting loaded is making me a bit nervous that I may not get loaded onto the Phoenix... crossing fingers and praying out loud!!!

We are at 180 (Waiting for Export Dispatch). Yahoo. Spoke to James and he was very pleasant and was generous with the code information. Ragdollcatz, I have had numerous run ins with Mr. Tony and he never gave me a code number and was very stingy with information.
It looks like our first group is sailing on the Atlantic right now. Bon Voyage and I hope you have excellent sailing weather.
Hopefully the rest of us will be riding the high seas soon.

This is my freakin' lucky day!
I just called 866-ASK-MINI, and they said that my production had started, and my prod date has been moved up from 10/31 to 10/17!
Excuse me while I celebrate!

Well its penultimate destination will be East Bay Mini. Which was pointless information I suppose except as an excuse to say "penultimate". I live in Fremont (Nor. Cal) so that will be the final stop.
I see more and more minis out here but nobody I've seen has the tail light mod or an aftermarket exhaust so I'm guessing that most these folk are not MCO members. But thats just a guess.
I hear you about being nervous. My car was scanned at the terminal but is waitlisted on the Phoenix. Yikes!!!

Congrats Chuck - I hope you get loaded!!
Congrats countrym - good to hear your production is ahead of schedule! Isn't it just great to get that VIN number? I was so happy, you'd have thought I'd taken delivery of the car!

AHHH. We have been booked on the Mignon, booking number GBSOU140, leaving Southampton on 10/18/03, arriving Brunswick, GA 10/28/03 (only 10 days?) After that another two weeks to California. What is weird is that we were scanned for booking on September 15th.

By the way we will be on California soil on 11/10/03. I wonder if Gary will be home for Thanksgiving? Should I set a plate for him?

Toonses--congrats on being on the Mignon! I've been monitoring your progress today and just noticed a few minutes ago that you had made progress. Yes!
Of note, my hubby's car is on the same boat. So.....why am I NOT?!! I am deeply, DEEPLY disturbed that my hubby is on a boat, and I'm sitting on the dock, he'll probably be partying with some redhead AND a blonde all the way over! It's gonna be an ugly, ugly night around here if I don't get on a boat PDQ.

WOW - allot of activity today! Well, it's Wed of week 41 ! Time to get people wrapped up and ready to ship! Really nice to see a group forming on the Mignon!
Don't worry Ragdollcatz, you'll get booked to the Mignon too!
and if you don't, I say when you do get booked, just search the deck for a cute IB/W MCS and dance the night away! Deck 3 has a live band!!
oh, and the olives ARE a good food to keep stocked for this MINI adventure!
Traveler and countrym - isn't it great to see the VIN numbers so close? It's really neat to see them built and booked. I had Ryan right ahead of me and I kept an eye on his progress! It really goes fast during your week! Day after Day the week before I was only told 150, then my week came and BAM on Tuesday I'm in the paint shop and Thursday I'm waiting for transportation! Friday I was booked on the ship! Every day it changed!!
Oh, and congrats on getting the 10-17 (week 42) countrym !
You must be living right!

Best wishes in getting loaded!
I was very worried I wouldn't ! But I did!
and in the end, they loaded Critical and MCS22004 on it too!
I don't think the VIN numbers have anything to do with the ship booking process. I can see on my ship numbers way ahead of mine and way behind mine too.

>>Just got off phone with Jason and he told me my mini was in production and out the 17th,but when I called back and asked him for a code he said they no longer give codes???? Is this ture???
It sounds like you are status 150, Scheduled for Production with a week 42 build. Some of the folks at ask mini will no longer give status codes. Just keep calling back until you find a cooperative one.
If you are status 150 then they should be able to give you your VIN number. Let us know!

Off topic warning! For you Texas folks (and Texas wannabees) there is a Texas only forum with lots of local content.

UGH, I called my MA today and told her "no wash, no wax"... and she acted like I was retarded! She said, "uuuh, WHY?" I explained that I didn't want any scratches or swirls, and I didn't want any coats of wax because I wanted to thoroughly wax it myself so there is no use in them doing it. She said, "uhhhhhh, hold on." She comes back a few minutes later and told me, "Ok I guess we can do that"
I also asked about a $300 something dollar service charge I heard Momentum tries to put on all cars they "etch". I asked her about it and she said yes, it's true. A "dealership service fee" or some crap. I said, forget it. I will get my car etched elsewhere for free. She said, you can't do that. We charge this fee for every single car sold at Momentum- Jag, BMW, Porsche, VW, whatever. It also covers having your car "washed for free" every time you bring it in!! Well F that, my friend! I aint payin that much money for you to potentially scratch and swirl my car with your crappy wash jobs! UGH. Pisses me off. But I guess I have no choice.
I mean, in all reality $300 isn't THAT much money (when thinking about the $25k+++ I will be spending on this car). But the PRINCIPLE is what I'm talking about here. These people are trying to give their customers the shaft! I'm sorry but it DOES NOT cost $300+ to etch my car; and even if I LET them wash it every time I got service, that would amount to a whopping 3 or 4 washes (assuming I only need the "scheduled" services- knock on wood).
Come on Houstonians, rise up! We're getting shiested!

>>Come on Houstonians, rise up! We're getting shiested! , now I have progressed to resignation.
I plan to be real clear on my feelings with a contribution to the dealer evaluation section after I take delivery. I hear that starting in December that a second Houston MINI dealer will open on the north side. Let's see how long they can keep shafting customers when they have a choice. Guess where my service business will go.
