OK Big Shock - but today for the first time, the Owners Lounge says my MINI is In Route!

I'm watching the worst football game of the weekend! My team UT is being beaten by OU - like 58-13 and there is still 7:15 left in the game !

Pebbles, just face it! OU is and always will have a better football team that UT!!!

Why are these games so highly publicized?! UT may be good, but they consistently suck against OU.

Thats why I root for TCU, MY home team!

Complaint of the day:

How come you can't get a production update from ASK MINI on the weekend? That's utter BS!

Can you tell I'm impatient?

I'm not sure I've ever called them on a weekend. What do you get? The same status as on Friday? It's good to know not to bother calling on the weekend.

I agree about being impatient!
Waiting is he!!

Here are some of my waiting stratagies - see I had to wait from January to July just to put down the deposit,so the MINI arrives in time for me to turn in my leased car in Nov. It's been a long year!

Here's some things I've done while waiting :

1) Do some chores around the house or rake the yard. Keep yourself busy on the weekends. I cleaned out my garage about a month ago so now my Honda is living inside! and Madeline will too! - I hate doing chores

Here are a few waiting stategies that I have employed this weeked.

1. Shop for wheels on the net and sought input from others (thanks Ryan)
2. Watched my new Italian Job DVD, including the special features.
3. Stopped my the MINI dealer to oogle what is on the lot.
4. Called ask mini this mornig and listened to the automated update. (No new news)

For some reason these strategies just seem to make matter worse.

Maybe if I watch the factory tour videos again!

Traveler - Thanks for the ideas! Some of them I can do! ! !

>>>1. Shop for wheels on the net and sought input from others (thanks Ryan)>>>
Nope, I can't do that! I'd spend $2000 really fast! Cha-ching !

>>>2. Watched my new Italian Job DVD, including the special features. >>>
I've got mine on order from Amazon - so by one day this week, I'll be watching both the old one and the new one over and over!!

>>>3. Stopped my the MINI dealer to oogle what is on the lot. >>>
They are 100 miles away but I have considered taking a drive!!!!

>>>4. Called ask mini this mornig and listened to the automated update. (No new news)>>>
I'll have to try the automated update. Everytime I've called I just say "customer service" and talk to a Service Rep.

P.S. The Fall Color Tour went awesome! The MMMC has notoriously thin turnouts (people here in Michigan are party-poopers! The weather was perfect, the drive was great, and we all had a blast, YAY!

P.P.S. I also picked up my H-Sport springs and H-Sport Competition sway-bar set. They're so beautiful, it's a shame they get dirty underneath the MINI

Ooh, if we really hustle I wonder if countrym and I have a chance of making the Tai Shan on the 18th? What's in line for the east coast after that?

Ryan - You are really making long for a real autumn. A few years back I worked a project in Illinois near St. Louis. I used to hike year round at Mississippi Palisades Park north of Alton. In the fall the whole forest would turn a glorious golden yellow. Oh well, stuck in Houston where I can make a living. We're still running the AC flat out down here.

YEA ! You are on your way!

Here are the call signs that I can find -- and NO I haven't actually found the call signs posted to the 2 Weather sites I go to, but perhaps they only report weather when it's bad weather. I'll keep checking the weather sites and if I see any one of these ships I'll give a hollar!

JINGU MARU = JPPT
PHOENIX DIAMOND = 3EGS6
OTELLO = SCFH
TAI SHAN = LAZP4

Yahoo we are on the water. What a glorious day. I hope Gary doesn't get sea sick. I am sure he is partying and won't stop until he gets to California.

Well yesterday to get my mind off of Gary's trip went on a 10.5 mile tandem bike ride with hubby. The air was so crisp and fall like. When we got home we decorated the house with our spooky decorations. Even though we don't have little ones around anymore we still get into the spirit.

Today we went to Nevada City (about 30 miles northeast) and went on the most beautiful hike. The leaves are changing colors and it was breathtaking. There was ivy that was growing on pine trees and the leaves on the ivy were brillant red. It looked like flames. It was just too beautiful and really put me in the fall spirit, considering it will be around 85 here today.

Pebbles have you been able to track the Jingu Maru? Tracking the Otello will be fun. I have 24 days of tracking before the ship reaches California. I have a good feeling we will have Gary in our hands by Thanksgiving. We also have a special trip planned when he gets here. We will be going to the coast to Mendocino, about four hours of winding roads. I can't wait.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Toonses,

Mendacino is great. Lots of windy roads and pretty dog friendly. We used to stay up at this nice cabin called something cheesy like the Enchanted Cottage but it got sold and the new owners apparently live there.

Have fun!

Yes, Mendocino is wonderful especially in the fall. And it is very dog friendly. We stay at a small house that is right on the Headlands near the art gallery. The owner has three places she rents out, a house, a studio, and a loft. The house we stay at has a clear shot of the ocean and it is in town so we can just park our car and walk the entire weekend.

So lets see we have Cdconsor, Ragdollcatz and Toonses on the Otello. That is only four cars (two for Ragdollcatz). What a small group. Oh well gives us more room to stroll around the deck. Lets hope for quiet seas and a strong wind on our back. Three weeks will go by quick. We will than just have to wait to be shipped to our dealers. Gary will be shipped to Sacramento (Niello BMW). Hopefully that won't take more than two to three weeks.

Bon voyage! Let the party begin.

I've looked at both weather sites off and on today and still no sign of the call signs the US Coast Guard site gave me. and the Mignon doesn't come up with a call sign. There are a couple of Mignon's but both are personal recreational boats - like one says it's 45 ft long - not the cargo ship we are looking for at all!

I will add that I don't see any bad weather either so perhaps none have their weather tracker turned on. I'm not sure how it works!

I'll check again tomorrow!
(yea, like you guys thought I wouldn't)

Hey Jingu Maru Peeps,

It is arriving in NY a day earlier on the 15th. Some good news as you are awaiting the next update on your car.

No sighting of the Maru on OceanWeather.com yet.

I wonder if that means it will be unloaded one day early as well. Any thoughts on how long from dock to dealer?

From the ship docking to taking the keys is usually around 2 weeks. The time spent in the VPC can vary greatly, so marking your calendar isn't a good idea. We'll just have to bite our nails and play it by ear

Does anyone have an EDD on MINIUSA.com yet? I don't although, like Miss Pebbles, it does show I'm "en route".
