That looks great Chuck. When you get a chance, can you get a better lit shot of the front? I'm mulling over adding the aero grille to my IB/W, and I'd like to see a good example.

You rock!

cdconsor - nice pics! mini looks good! makes me want to get the aero kit to. hmmm... is it to late to make a request for a xmas present? hmmm... it should be quite interesting. the only missing piece of course is driving my mini around there. :???: well, at least the mini got to experience some fun-filled terain in p-burgh. yeah, just got back from there and had to experience the terain along with the snow... quite interesting.

happy holidays to all and safe motoring!

I'm headed up to the snowy Northeast to visit my parents, without my MINI. I hope I don't go into withdrawal! I guess I might have to borrow my friends MCS if I develop the shakes and cold sweats.

I'll be bringing MM2 back to the dyno to get an "after" reading
I'm also supposed to go to Denver to visit family, but it seems business obligations are really cramping my schedule, grrr.

Everyone have a great hoilday!

?how many miles does everyone have so far on their MINI? It's been 7 weeks for MM2, and he's got 2540 on the clock

Cheers,
Ryan

countrym,

I dont want to clutter up the thread with pics of my blue beauty but here is a good shot of the aero grill. If you want more I'd be happy to oblige

And you know, I think I actually scrape less (which is to say, I havent scraped yet) with the aero kit than with the stock kit.

As for X-mass, the mrs. and I are going to london. Its my first time there but like her 5th. The benefit of that is that I wont have to slog through every museum. In fact we are even going to catch the Arsenal game on boxing day. Should be fun.

As for milage, just hit the 1500 mark (picked up the car on Nov 18th).

Cheers all,

Chuck

Very nice Chuck. Love that color!

Fun? Met the local MNI Club last weekend for coffee and a photo op. 32 MINI's at Minute Maid Park (formerly Enron Field) was quite a sight. I also got to meet spoonleg and can report that she is definitely not a he.

Two Month update
I've had MM2 now for exactly two months, amazing how time flies. I haven't driven him in the past week because I was out in Denver visiting family. I also managed to squeeze in a dinner with Mark Ferguson and DiD (Dave), as well as some snowmobiling, shopping, air-hockey, and of course maximum relaxation.
Anyway, back to the MINI; he has almost 3100 miles on him, and things couldn't get further from stock! Today I installed the new Milltek cat-back exhaust. The exhaust was very easy to install, has an awesome tone, and makes the car feel a bit more light on its' feet (with my right foot!). In other news, reliability is 100%, satisfaction is quite high, though the magic is a bit lost with this second time around. I'm going to Classic MINI on Tuesday to have V36 uploaded; I'm hoping this will alleviate the horribly annoying Yo-yo that has plagued MM2 since day 1. Other than that, I changed the oil around 2500 miles to AMSoil full syn 5W-30 and a few filter, and I'm good to go.

Motor-On,
Ryan

nullThree Week Update
We picked up Jasmina on 12/12 in Dallas and headed directly for Santa Fe where we spent 2 beautiful nights. Then on to Flagstaff, the north coast of California, the Oregon coast, and finally Seattle on 12/20. What a great trip! 2800 miles.

Little bits and pieces of Route 66 are great relief from the Interstate.

Highway 1 in California was made for the MINI and there was virtually nobody on the road except for a few cows.

We are totally bonded with Jasmina and I am more impressed with this car every time I drive it.

Ryan - why did you choose the AMSoil and how often are you going to change it? Just curious.

Hope the new year is good to all you and your MINIs,

Duncan

Hello People who took delivery in November!!!

I wanted to check in and let you know everything is going great for me! I have had Mr Bridger 9 weeks and he is a great car! I have like 4400 miles on him. He never misses a beat!

We've been going to MINI Rallys. They are really fun! We are going again tomorrow! 4 MINIs will leave Austin at 5am to get to San Antonio to eat breakfast with 8 MINIs from our South Texas MINI Club! Then we roll out and are heading to the Hill Country. We'll drive all morning, eat lunch at some small town cafe and then drive all afternoon home! We take all the back roads so as to enjoy the best views and twisted roads! Often we are driving 20 mph over what's posted. It's allot of fun! The rally in Nov had 16 MINIs there! When we were driving down and around the hills, the string of MINIs looked like a catapillar going down the road!! I was 2nd from the last car so I could see them all ahead of me. It's quite a sight!!! We all have Walkie Talkies, set to the same channel, so we all can talk to each other and hear what everyone else is saying.

The MINI people I've met in our club are great! I've never been in a club that is totally accepting of every one. We have some people who are very car smart and they have me, who just loves to drive. We have very young people to very old people! We have working people and retired people.

I'm still getting lots of waves and smiles everywhere I go!
I am having the time of my life!

MOTOR ON !

Ha! and you thought this thread was dead.

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was fareing. Miles? Mods? Stories?

Personally I have nothing but positive things to say about my mini, and I told J.D. Power as much. Drives like a champ, tons and tons of fun, and miraculously no tickets (yet).

No long road trips yet so I'm only at about 5000 miles. But I do love driving at night with the sunroof open.

As for mods, well I finally took the plunge and started in with the power mods, pilo intake and milltek exhaust so far. I figure I'd wait till end of summer reviews to see how the 19% pulley performed in the heat. To be honest, I havent really noticed much of a boost with the intake and exhaust and I am a bit skeptical of people's butt dynos. Although I am willing to conceede that mine might not be well calibrated. In brief though the milltek is great, deeper tone, great purr but if it is any louder than stock, I cant tell (ok maybe just a smidge). Of course I've only had it on for about 20 miles so we'll see if anything changes.

The other thing I'm working on is the promini gauge pod. Man o man oman is that thing a pain in the boot. The engine bay is soo tight that I just cant get my big paws in there. Most notably, getting the factory oil pressure sending unit off and the new one in is exceedingly challenging (any suggestions?).

Well hope you all are having as much fun as I am (you couldnt possibly be having more )

Cheers,

Chuck

Hello everyone!! Glad to see the CWFNC back in action!

I am at about 7,500 miles or so (I can't tell you for certain because Sona is in the shop!) Sob story here- she got rear ended!

As far as mods, I'm seriously considering some intake and exhaust, but am currently researching the different brands. For now we just have cosmetic stuff- stripes, sunroof cover and new tail lights. Driving lights soon to come, I hope. How is everyone else?

Where are they now?

Almost time for roll call! I can't believe that with just over a week to go there is no third annual November Club. We were all insane by this time.

November club addition

My MINI should be delivered to Port Hueneme in November. I checked the shipping website and there are two ships scheduled to come in. One is going to arrive 11/2/04 and the other is 11/11/04. I am hoping for the earlier date since I originally ordered my MINI March 1st. I'm really getting impatient. I don't know all the coding you use, but I ordered a black (the one that sparkles) 2005 manual MINI Cooper w/ the sport package and a white top. I will keep you posted about its arrival.

Hey, you guys are supposed to be starting you own November thread!

I was jus thinking that it was coming up on 1 year for me as well. I just had my first service done a few weeks back at 11200 miles. Still great fun. (although adding the 15% pulley helps the fun factor)

Ha, I was searching for something else and saw this thread pop up. Who else still has their November 2003 Delivery MINI, 10 years on? I do. Though it has been through some changes.

It tore the left drivers suspension up pretty good when the wheel hit a rock on the way down. Also damaged the drivers side lower side skirt and the front bumper cover of course. Hit just hard enough to set off the front airbags. The impact that damaged the suspension also cracked the wheel and getting it out scratched two others.

This is when it was pulled out. Name: 50c47760.jpg

Here is the cracked S-Heavy, which even though this was a non-run flat, it held air for like 2 months.Name: 0b92a488.jpg

Size: 93.7 KB

So, I got the aero front bumper and side skirts and new wheels and tires that I had been wanting for a while anyway and had the suspension and airbags replaced. Luckily, nothing needed painting except the new Aero kit parts. It runs real nice and now my MINI symbol on the steering wheel is nice and new!
