RYEPHILE,

***** if I know, it says "schedule for production" and the arrow is at the 2nd step, but it still says "estimated production date 9/26" when I click "review order detail". I don't know what this 150 business is.....how do I find out what number I'm at?

Yes, I really want to go. I spent all day today thinking about how I can save up vacation time from Feb and March and put it all for the trip to Deals Gap. I know that if I loved the little movie, I'd just be over the top to do it in person. I'll have to see how my money looks and how my time looks.

I called ASK MINI and I'm still at 112.
He said call back anytime, which means I'll call back Friday!!

OK - off to get my hair cut and highlighted!!
Woo Hoo I'll be pretty!

I'm concerned about you. Haven’t got your MINI fix yet and all this stuff going on. Chill girl! Your going to get over reactive and can’t handle it when the fix gets here. Just a concerned MCO member.

spoonleg - congrats on making 150. I was thinking about ordering a Cooper Flags sunroof cover myself. Are you planning to have Momentum do the install on the flag and stripes or will you do that yourself?

aw lo mini, i'm so jealous. my production started yesterday too, but no VIN!! WTH?
and i'm not calling again til Friday... making myself wait!! but congrats on 150!

good for you on your second lesson. i still have not started!! this weekend, though, i will be hopping into the new 325i and giving it my best shot. he's a doctor anyway, he can afford to replace the clutch if i ruin it (or anything else!).

yes traveler, my MA at Momentum (Mariana) told me that they would install my stripes and sunroof. i am also going to have them install my clear bra, which i have already ordered from another company (MINI charges too much!) i hope the service people will agree to do all of this for me, because i have heard that some dealers refuse to install cooperflags products to avoid tearing or messing up the product, then having to purchase a new one at MINI's expense. But according to my MA when I first ordered the car, they will install and charge for labor (which will no doubt cost a buttload). But that's the plan, Stan!

Hey... it's kinda quiet in here today. Where are all of my excited little November buds??

Still at work! I've been here since 8 this morning, and it's 10:20 now! One of the downsides of being self-employed is that the overtime is kinda mandatory.

I bugged some poor soul at ASK MINI about my production status again, and I'm still at 111. But, to quote a popular aphorism, good things come to those who wait.

Yo lo_mini, Jet, and MNESIAC, Congrats on hitting 150! Let me know what your VIN#'s are, so I can try to track your MINI's when they get to the docks (and just to keep a fun order). It's really cool to look at The October Club's production update and see how the newer VIN's are just starting production, and the older (smaller number) VIN's are on the ships already

Cheers,
Ryan

Ryan - thx for the excellent car-care thread. Called the dealer, and he said they do not wax, only a hose-down and wash. said, "No wash."

"hose down"? like when you hose down your kids after a soccer match in the mud? like when you hose down your neighbor for trying to sabotage your rose garden?

it sounds so crass. no thanks, no hosing down MY car.

i know! when i found out i was like, "this is the best day of my life". then i stopped and realized, the best day of my life is truly going to be when i pick up my Sona and bring her home!! It's all becoming more real now...

And silly me, I thought the best day of my life was the day I graduated from college! Phooey!

Good news everyone who's got their vin! I can't wait to get mine!
Spoonleg - you'll have the first one coming to Texas in the club!
I am so excited for you. It's the real start ! Sona is on her way down the line!

I broke down and called and the man said with est prod date of 10-3 I should have a vin by Monday or Tuesday of next week! I said ok I'll call back next week.
That means I'll call tomorrow!!

It will be so fun to see all of our names and our vin numbers.
Ryan, it will be so cool to see the progress of the club. With the first VINs given out coming home first, while others are being shipped and others are being built!

I have 4 big events :
1. Getting a VIN - to me it's the real start!
2. Getting loaded on the ship - knowing the vessel name I can track across the pond
3. Getting to S. Carolina - Finially in the USA
4. Picking up my MINI at the dealer

You are so correct! When I graduated from UT, It was one and only thing I wanted to do is "get out of here alive"... it was a joke at first and by the time I was a Senior, it was more true than joke!

and I totally agree about being happy about the VIN. It's my first goal and I will just be smiling so happy when I have it.

Congrats to those who are also at 150!

To the others, you will soon be there!

Spoonie - Have fun on your 1st driving lesson. It's actually not that bad when you both make fun of the situation... which is what my friend does. Like you said, he's a Doctor, he can afford a new clutch!

Ryan - VIN: TD75831

Hmmm... who else can i tell that i'm in status 150? i think i've told just about everyone i know!

I love the FMAs! I'd never seen them before and the first one was written by my buddy Chefrichie! I knew right away, I read one sentance about going home and meeting his SO and driving to San Antonio in a Volvo. Well, that's Theresa's Volvo!

What great stories! We have a small group (like 5 people) who meet about once per month at a Starbucks. We all live in South or Southwest Austin. I sure hope one of them will go to the Deal Gap so I can follow in a convoy from Texas. I do not want to drive for 2-3 days alone. I'd prefer to be with at least 1 other MINI. Well, I have some months to see if there are other Texans going and then secure the time off from work.

Thanks for sharing the F.M.A.s!
I need a roll cage and a helmit !

and yes, I'm a pest! Called ASK MINI twice this week and do plan to call again tomorrow! But I've made a mental note that I've never talked to the same person twice. First was a lady, then a Robert and today was Tony! so unless they mark my record each time I call, then they don't know I call 3 times a week. and they are really nice people, Tony today told me how the MINIs will ride an 18 wheeler from S Carolina to Texas and I joked him that I'd be the lady on I10 watching the car carrier go by, looking for my little red car. He then said I'd never know it was MINIs because they transport them totally covered up. He said too many crazy people out there. I totally agreed there are too many strange jealous people out there.

Today, a co-worker of mine stopped by my office to say they'd seen a MINI on the freeway and they'd thought of me. They then asked me all about what I was getting, when I expected it, etc... I swear, I give it a year and there'll be another MINI at my office!! I know there will be someone who can't resist the looks, performance and smile factor.

MINI smile factor rating = 10 !
See a MINI and you smile - it's like a reflex !

See my Smile?

>>Haleboy, Congrats
>>When you've taken a slight break from Motoring, would you kindly share with us your new MINI? We need a MINI-fix!
>>
>>...and speaking of weather, it's starting to get a bit brisk up here in Michigan I'll need a jacket!

Thanks Ryephile, as soon as I get some pics, I will post them. For the record: REX as in T-REX is British Racing Green with white roof and Premium #1 (Sun, Cruise, trip computer, heated profile leather seats, auto air). Very happy I went for option package and not base with no extras. Sun roof worth every penny!

First road trip to your neck of the woods...on my way to Illinois mid October. WooooHoooo!

Haleboy - very nice name T-Rex! and do post photos! I know you love your MINI! You are so lucky to have found that fine car early! Very cool, your BRG/White is a T-Rex MINI ! I like it as much as the Tin Man MINI !

These names are a total reflection of the creativity of the members of MCO !
