Good news here. I called ASK MINI and talked to Adrienne - she was great! I swear, IT MATTERS WHO YOU TALK TO !!!! She told me that my MCS went into production on Monday and gave me my VIN # TD76302 !! She said that once in production I could call each day and be told where the car is. She said it goes fast and it's fun to track it.

I am walking on the moon! I am so thrilled!

Traveler - you will love being at status 112. your order would be in and set and you can just sit back and wait. You can't change the order so enjoy knowing what you've got coming!

I have a sort of side note to my joyous post from earlier! and no I'm not less happy but it's sort of odd and I want to know what you think.... but I just went to the Owners Lounge and sure enough just since yesterday my status on the Owners Lounge now says Production started and my VIN number is printed there.

And this lady Adrienne saying "your production started Monday" and giving my VIN number... What does it mean?

(1)that MINI is only giving out information that's already on the Owners Lounge? and should I be ticked off a bit because the Owners Lounge doesn't update for days after the real status change ?
or (2) that my status changed on Monday and the Owners Lounge is updated 2 days later?? and we can count on it being accurate to 2 days?

Do I even venture to ask outloud,
That if the Owners Lounge updated today with my VIN number, actually how many day's has my car been in production???
4-5 days needed for the Owners Lounge to update or the 2 days I'm told today?

If the car's been in production 4-5 days then it will be finished sooner.
At this rate, I imagine they'll never tell me correctly when it's finished, by the time they tell me, it will have already moved on and may be loaded on a ship.
The only thing I will be able to count on is the day the ship leaves will be the day the ship left !

i went into work without my cell phone, production #, or even dealership #. i of course do not have internet access at work either. so i made a call for help to my friends who do and finally got my dealership's #.

plan a accomplished. i called classic mini and asked the receptionist to get my production #... hehehe she was so nice that was no problem!

i was excited till i looked at that status codes again... man there's still a lot before i get my mini. urg... now that's a major downer. oh well... at least i'm getting a mini!

spoon - i'm going to start keeping track of who i talk to and let you know. b/c all of the ones i talked to were super nice and informative!!! hmm... the next time they give you probs u should request for someone else!

I just called and was told I start production today.WOO HOO!!!!! They didn't have a VIN yet though. Is that normal?

Great color Traveler. Our color choice originally was gold/black and than pepper white/black, and finally decided on IB/Black. Thank goodness we are now at code 112 so we don't have to go through this agony. Now we just think about accessories! AAAHHHHH.

And speaking of statistics, I started to reminisce about cars gone by. This will be the first time since I was in college that I did not own at least one Japanese car. (We won’t say how long that is. ) That was the car the introduced me to Moss Motors and salvage yards. Please tell me that MINI’s don’t have Lucas electricals. Remember Lucas? “Lord of Darkness”.

CONGRATS to pebbles and ryan and everyone else with newly obtained VINs!! Looks like MINI has been busy toiling away at everyone's vehicle!! I called ASKMINI this morning. A nice person (that last time was the ONLY time I had a less-than-pleasant person) told me that Sona is in the paint shop!! I was excited to hear that, but kinda bummed she's not done yet. :???: :???: We'll see what they say tomorrow!!

Who knows what ships our 9/26 MINIs will be loaded on?! Time to start thinking about that now I guess...

Ryan is a over 100 cars ahead of me, perhaps I'll see how his goes so I know what to expect too!!

One more time, it's a repeat of the status codes, but I've found that in calling ASK MINI the person either will give the code or will say the words. I just called and was told I'm still at 150 and the other day when I called the lady kept saying Production Started!

I am FOR SURE going to get the Green Stuff brake pads, well that is, just as soon as I braked the hexx out of my factory pads. but just as soon as I just might need new pads I want those pads!

if MINI has the Aero Kit back ordered and it's not here when the car gets here, I'm going to say "forget it" and order the chrome grills. I like both the black grill and chrome grill looks equally well! - but I really hate this anxiety of thinking I want the Aero Kit and it may be back ordered for 2 months. I know a man who got his MINI in June and his Aero Kit in August. well, that's not for me! I want the car ready to go when I pick her up! and if she doesn't have the Aero Kit, then I'll just order her some chrome grills!!!

and yes, for me I was told "on order" until yesterday and then all of a sudden I was told it had started production on Monday and they had my VIN. So I'd say wait 2 days and call back and you'll have your VIN. or check the MINIUSA's Owners Lounge and see if the VIN is showing there! Mine was showing up on the Owners Lounge the same day the lady told me the VIN on the phone!

yesterday, I had an IB/W/S MCS with Aero kit pull up next to me on the road. We were in traffic, and I didn't see it before hand, so I was surprized. I could feel a smile forming on my face, and my brain reminding my eyes to look to the cars in front of me so I wouldn't rear end anyone, tee hee!

Yes, and the OL is actually updated, I was surprised to see that too! Let's hope this is a sign that their IT guys have their stuff together!

Thanks spoonleg for the compliment on the sig photo! I was looking at photos of MINI events and found this one of a MINI rally! Just think, perhaps just minutes after this photo was taken they all took off, down the road, all in a row! like how cool was that? Very cool to me! I think they are lovely! I couldn't take my eyes off it. So I saved it to my computer and then I cropped it and sized it and BAM, I had my sig photo!

hey critical - and anyone else with a VIN # - give Ryan the last 2 letters and numbers so we can see where you are in production! He'll put your number next to your name - like he did mine and then we can see how the numbers change status. I know Ryan is ahead of me in line and I can watch to see when he's told his status changes.

and what I understand the VIN # means you are at 150, like all the parts are numbered and ready and the MINI is "In Que for the Production Line" ...

Spoonleg - There aren't that many MINI's in my section of town either. All of Texas got off to a late start because of BMW's then ongoing fued with the state over their selective distribution of X5's. I will sometimes go for several days without seeing any. Why the fourth largest city in the US has only one dealer is beyond me.

Ryan - Yes there are definitely 17" wheels in the plans. The v spokes will quickly be relegated to autox duty. I do like FrogGuts's G-Racing Seki's. I think the bright silver looks good with the IB. Maybe some silver Team Dynamics. I'm selling off the parts from my current ride to start the MINI fund.

Pebbles - The chrome grill sounds yummy. I know what you mean about not waiting. After all these months we will all need immediate gratification.

Couldn't help myself i called again and i was at 153. According to ASKMINI i should be at 155 tomorrow. Mini should be on board next week. Hmm... i thought they are able to tell you what ship it was boarded on but i guess they don't know that anymore. hmm... i'm wondering will my dealer know?? anyone know?
