I told myself I would not call MINIUSA until Friday, but I am just too excited. Called and spoke to Lisa who stated that Gary started production on 9/25 and that he was at code 150. His planned birth is still scheduled to be completed by October 10th. Good news, Gary's car cover finally arrived. This way my cats won't be crawling all over him while he is parked in the garage. We have a three-car garage but we are only going to park the Prince in the garage. Our good trusty Tundra will have to rough it outside. My husband is so worried that something might touch Gary that he is already clearing a six foot path around the area where he will be parked. (And it is only September 30th.) I can only imagine how he will be once Gary finally arrives.

Pebbles I got my VIN # last Saturday (posted note on 9/27/03). Yes we are getting excited. In a week or so I will have to start tracking ships. Oh joy. Another thing to worry about.

Just got production order #, was told delivery Nov. Bought in NY Having shipped to NW Seems rather early ? could this be true? MCS drk gry/drk gryPackages 1,3 everything on package 2 but went with 16"????? HK, Wiper/sensor

 

So here's the sad post explaining my absence these past few weeks.

Just like Rodney Dangerfield, I'm going Back To School. I already have a four month old 2003 Accord with less than 10,000 miles, and the depreciation hit is going to be a punch in the gut. Not to mention, with the money I've been saving for the MINI, I can pay off a rather heavy amount of credit card debt in full.

So, looking at everything in that light, does it make a bit of sense to dump a practically new car, and take on nearly $8000 more in a car loan, while still holding onto thousands of dollars on a card at 10.99%? I didn't think so.

Especially if I'm going to have to park on campus lots, where my darling MINI would be sure to be dinged, dented, and mistreated by others.

So it was with a heavy heart that I cancelled my order last week. I'll be sure to turn in my CWFNC secret decoder ring on the way out, and return my locker key.

It may take a day or two for your data to be posted. You could also try calling 866 ASK MNI and they should be able to tell you. They always have the latest info.

Yep, the car will change but the build date will probably hold. Mine did. The color/options that are currently shown are what the dealer had ordered for his inventory. That will be updated in a day or two. A November delivery is going to be tight for a late October build. But what the heck do I know? :smile:

You're a smart guy! You have to look out for yourself and your finances! I have a 3 year lease on a 2001 Honda Accord 2 door coupe - V6 - it has every option known to man and my only regret is that I didn't buy it and I have to give it in trade for another car or turn it in by December. SOOOOO way last year during the holidays I started looking around and found the MINI and decided that If I had to give up my gold baby, I wanted a MINI! I had to wait until July to even place my order and put down my deposit. all because I did not want to take a hit on the value of the Honda. Now my MINI is getting here by the end of Nov and I turn in my Honda in Dec. -- unless MINI will give me close to a break even as trade in!

I know it was hard for you to cancel your order! But check back in 18 months and see what new things MINI is coming out with and order one then!

I have heard that from production week to keys in your hand could be as short as 1 month. So perhaps your estimate of "End of Nov" may not be too far off. and that Est prod date could get moved back a week to 10-24 also. When you get to Status Code 112, your order is set in stone and your Production week is locked in. I've also heard that if you live on the West Coast your MINI takes an extra 2 weeks because of the trip through the Panama Canal!

I vote for what Traveler says! Hand out with us and if you have to change to the December club in the end, You'll be one of the first of that group to get their MINI!

 

It will be delivered to the east coast, I'm having the car trucked accross the US, ( 7 to 10 days ) The dealer kept saying keys in hand NOV??????. I have a car on order from a dealer out here ,been waiting 2 months so far, told car would arrive Feb to Mar. So went on the hunt on the east coast and found this.

 

Odd that we don't have any 10/24 builds. The December club seems very quiet as well. Where is the next batch of newbies?

 

ok, NWMINI - you could do it! It's the east coast that gets their cars from New York! It's the one month from production week to keys in hand side of the USA !!!!
and if your date gets slipped back to 10-24, then it would be around Thanksgiving!

See, up until a car hits Status Code 112, the dealer can sell that spot in line and then change the order to be exactly what you want! You got a spot that was already going to be ordered as a car to sell off the lot! (you lucky Devil) so Wait a couple days and then go to the Lounge and scrole down all the options and make sure it's exactly what you want. Once you see it all - wheel color, dash color, seats, etc... then you know it will be built for you!

Oh, and tell us all about your MINI, wheel color, dash color, seats, options, stripes or not, etc... Mr.Motor2 update: He's now status 160! He got finished up being built yesterday, and is now waiting for a train to Southhampton. I'm major excited. Pebbles, yours should be just behind! Called WheelMax today, my wheels are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I should be getting some of my H-Sport toys on Friday, and my Scroth harness and Ferodo 2500's from Randy are on their way. mmmm, toys!!
