Very sad. And Traveler seemed to be a nice, upstanding citizen. Who's he gonna call to post bail? Should we start a fundraiser? Who gets his CAR???

Dannette and David.

Yeah? Yeah? Well... I... Uhh...

...nuts. I can't think of anything clever to say.

Other than I'm going to be insanely jealous of you during those two weeks between when your MINI and mine are going to be built.

Good news Ryephile. I just called ASK MINI and I am still scheduled for production on 10/10/03. Rats. I was hoping to be bumped up as well. We are still at code 111. We are thinking of switching standard stereo to Harman Karden while we still have the time to do it. Does anyone know if the HK comes with a 6-CD Changer?

Thanks. I hope you all have a great Monday.

No Toonses the driving cat, the HK doesn't come with the 6 disk (bummer). It is just an upgraded quality sound system (with some controversy as to it's "quality" might I add). I chose to get this option rather than tearing apart my car and doing an aftermarket system, which I would know next to nothing about. So for the price, and from the reviews I have read about it, it was worth it to me. Check out the bridger site, they have some good reviews of it.

I believe that the 6 disk changer is available as a dealer installed extra, no?

I'm so glad we have so many new club members since the weekend! And welcome to Traveler- a fellow Houstonian! I also ordered my MINI from Momentum and was pleasantly surprised that my wait time from deposit to expected delivery to be just over 3 months. You seem to have done even better! I suppose MNIs aren't so in demand here in Houston as they are elsewhere?

WHO IS GETTING EXCITED?!?!?!

Thanks Spoonleg. I think I will go ahead and order the HK. That means another call to my dealer. She is going to flip out again. So far we have changed the color twice, and canceled our order once.

Of course I am excited about our Mini.

YAY, LOOKS LIKE I'M IN THE CLUB BABY!!!! Ordered my MCS a few weeks ago, was on the fence about whether I belong here or in the October club but with an est. prod. date of 9/26 I think I'm here, because my car will be delivered to the dealer I'm buying it from (Classic Mini in OH) and then delievered to me in CA shortly after (reason I did this was because I didn't want to pay stupid CA dealership markup of $3000 on the MCS). Anyway, here are my specs:

2004 Mini Cooper S
BRG/BLK
sports pkg
sunroof
mfsw
obc
wheels locks
carpet floor mats

Oh yeah, I also can't wait for November b/c my 19th b-day is on the 21st.

later,

amir

We are all going to be nuts by November. I just checked in on the September club and they are all tracking their "missing" boat and the hurricanes. Don't worry, the latest report is the ship just left NY for Charleston.

I like the analogy about Xmas. The anticipation is fun. I found myself daydreaming a lot today in boring meetings.... tooling around town on a cool winter day in Houston (that's 60 degrees F for you folks north of I 20) with the sunroof open... completing a brilliant autox run… picking up my new Mini at the dealer.... What’s that? When will the report be ready? Damn! Can I take the rest of the day off?

hehehehe. I know the feeling.

And didn't you just LOVE this unheard-of FABULOUS weather in Houston this weekend?!?! I was so depressed because all I could think of was how much fun I'd be having with my sunroof down, cruising in my MINI. DAMN!

I hope we have a nice November, because no matter WHAT the weather, you will see me motoring around with my sunroof down! And you'll hear me screaming at all the other drivers, "GO AHEAD AND LAUGH, BUT I'M IN A MINI AND YOU'RE NOT! SO THERE!"

Welcome to the club jjblount and ZAMIRZ !!! We have a great group here! Everyone waiting for November!

The lady I spoke to at MINIUSA said you can change your order and your production date may be slipped back or pushed forward until you reach Status 112 ... that is when your production date and the specs of your car will not change.

I am so happy for you people getting an earlier production date!
I secretly hope my MINI gets pushed forward too! Leading him to a life of ... lying about his mileage!!

Isn't that how families are?? Well, Mine is!

but being first means you have to report back to us exactly how the car looks, rides, what you think of the 04 model, etc...
We'll be dieing to know everything about your drive home !

Don't feel any pressure.... but we just expect a complete report, every detail, What clothes you wore, what song you played first, how soon your face hurt from smiling, how many seconds it too before someone stared at your MINI, how many minutes before you were waved at, etc...
with photos

Of course I will probably change my mind a dozen times by November.

LoMini - don't worry about driving a stick! You will do great! I swear ONE DAY and you'll be a pro! I'm so happy about your 112 status!

Traveler - yes, I saw nparker's MINI! Those wheels are great!
I sized the photo so we can see it here on the club!!
I'm biting my nails ! !

Amir - I hope you get your MINI for your birthday! Did they give you a production number that you can look up on MINIUSA ? Ask your parents and aunts and uncles to send you birthday money - no presents!

BJ I TOTALLY know what you mean. It requires a whole lot of self control for me to not call MINIUSA every day! I didn't call today- aren't you proud? I will wait until tomorrow- that's when the last guy I talked to told me to expect a VIN. WOO HOO! I also want to find out my production code- have not asked that yet.

LoMini- This car is my first standard also. I am SUPER nervous. But it will work out. In the meantime, I'm trying to find someone who will let me practice on their car, with not much luck. I have a doctor-friend with a brand new BMW 330i (I think), and he told me I could practice on it. But I would be too nervous to wreck his brand new BMW!!

Hey BJ- I know it's a little premature, but what port do you think our MINIs will come in at? I think there's one in South Carolina- is that the closest to us? I wonder how long it will take for our MINIs to get here once they arrive!!

Hey you Southerners; your MINI's will go through S. Carolina, which is stop #2 for the ships, after New York, and will take about another week from the people on the east coast.

---> jjblount, Welcome! I need the rest of your MINI's config: upholstery, trim, roof and wheel colors.

---> ZAMIRZ, Welcome also! I need your upholstery and trim too (along with MattG and KerMini)

Other than some Registry updates, that's about it. I called ASKMINI today and was confronted with the usual useless automated system, and an almost equally unhelpful customer service dude, who sounded almost bored to death.
Cheers, and good night,
Ryan

[throws hands up with an innocent look]
Sorry but this is just how I believe the schedule goes, which does suck. Keep in mind the people on the west coast have to wait at least an additional week or two for their ship to get around the Panama Canal!

(btw, I also got the November Club webpage updated, everyone check that your MINI is correct!)
Cheers,
Ryan
