Waiting until November is long enough. I can't even imagine waiting until next year. Since I have heard both negative and positive information about the Getrag I will go with what I have ordered. Who knows, maybe in a few years I will get a sister/brother for my MC. Thanks for the info.

Hello MINI friends,

Add me to the CWFN club as well! I ordered my B/W S 08/23/03. The projected build date is 09/26/03 and my dealer estimated a beginning to mid November delivery so I believe that qualifies me to be part of the club.

I am very excited however, I have decided to be disciplined and not to let myself purchase anything for the car until late October. In the meantime I am trying not to think TOO much about the big day.

Good luck and I hope everyone's car comes in ahead of schedule!
Matt

My husband and I would like to be included in the group anticipation for MIMI arrival. We ordered ours in June, with production in October.

We're waiting for (yet unnamed) two MCS, his IB/W and hers BRG/W, sports and cold weather packages, alloy, performance tires, leather (his black, hers cordoba), cordoba steering wheel in hers, and various other misc goodies. Now, the question is whether I should change my BRG for a CR/W--gotta decide fast!

Welcome MNESIAC and ragdollcatz  Matt, I'd be really impressed if you actually didn't buy anything until late October!

Poll Time: What is your upcoming MINI replacing, or displacing?

Cheers,
Ryan

Well, add me to the list. On 8/28, I ordered my BRG/W S. Scheduled build date of 10/10.

Equipment? Lessee... All three packages, black leatherette, white S-lites with "performance" tires, white bonnet stripes, HK audio system, and anthracite trim.

Welcome KerMini, Mr MINI, Calvin, MNESIAC, Turkish and (2) members in ONE family, Danette Ragdollcatz and David Ragdollcatz !

WOW that's 7 new members!

Are we the first Can't Wait for Club to have a couple ordering His and Hers MINIS ???

and Danette - Don't ask about changing colors! You'll get 15 different answers, and that would be from just us club members!!

Welcome Turkish! A busy day for welcoming the newbies to The November Club

[edit, there she is!]
ragdollcatz - go for the BRG, it's an awesome color (that's a 1 and 1 for BRG vs. CR)

We're adding on. We have an Aurora and an Expedition, but we also have three teens. So, David and I get the play cars, and the kids get to drive around in the tanks. I think that's only fair, don't you? Try convincing them!

>>Thanks Guys!! My daily driver is an 03 Chevy Quad Cab long bed Dually Duramax diesel so driving my wifes MINI will be quite an adjustment. You would think I'd be claustraphobic(?) in a MINI but I had a BLAST on the test drive!!!

Bill,
You will have to post a photo of your truck and your wife's MINI sitting side by side! That will be a great photo!!

I currently have a 2001 Honda Accord 2-door coupe, V-6, with every option known to man. . . which is the reason I am the Waiting Queen! It was during my vacation last year in October that I realized that I hated the new style of Honda Accord and I would not get one. I had One Year to choose another car because my lease was going to end in Dec of this year. So I went to Edmunds and there on their front page was a MINI! I couldn't take my eyes off it. I then spent the Thanksgiving holiday reading up on it, reviews, history, etc... and I've had to wait until now to get to order so my MCS comes in when my lease ends.

It had been a very long wait.
I've learned allot about cars reading MCO!

hey! my mini is going to have a buddy on the ship... Matt's prod. build date is the same as mine. i got first dibs though!

So, Pebbles, i had my 1st driving lesson with a standard (total time of 20+ minutes) ... it was my most frustrating time i've ever had... only the thought of mini is keeping me sane... stay tuned for the upcoming episode. ppl keep your car away from fairlawn, ohio's parking lots.

You and David will have to hide your keys !

but very good idea to have the Expedition for family trips where having cargo space is important! and then having the 2 MINIs for your personal cars!!

Thanks for the warning lo_mini The Cooper S's clutch is about middle-of-the-road in my experience in terms of pedal effort and modulation resolution. My now-sold BMW 325i was the definition of perfect clutch. [sighs thinking of the fond memories] But there's no way I'd want the Bimmer back if I had to give up the MINI

Cheers,
Ryan

I called MINIUSA today (couldn't help myself), and talked to a real person...

Sona is officially scheduled for production- her DOB will be 9/26/03! I'm so excited. So I talked to this super friendly guy and he told me a VIN should be available by Tuesday. yippeee!!!

I can't WAIT to get rid of my POS '96 Toyota Paseo! Good riddance as she is passed on to my 16 year old brother!

HAHAHA! FINALLY! I BEGIN TO REAP THE BENEFITS OF BEING THE OLDEST CHILD! Revenge is oh-so sweet. The MCS is my first real-world post-graduation purchase, and he is SO JEALOUS! And instead of buying him a car when he turns 17 (like they did me), the parentals are gonna give me CASH for that junker and then handing it off to him!

ALL MY LIFE I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT. THE TABLES HAVE TURNED MY FRIEND, AFTER 23 YEARS OF GETTING THE SHAFT! MUWAHAHAHAHA!

excellent Smithers, it's all falling into plan...

I've had such fun reading through this section of the site. I feel like I've walked into a family reunion with people that are more fun than a real family reunion!

BTW, can any of you educate me on what a "hot pocket" is? And where does one find the t-shirts online? I have the 1:13 BRG Cooper close enough to pet, at least. I have a few Euros and pence stuck in it's little boot for luck.

I'm not convinced that there isn't some Internet virus that forces us to fall in love with these odd little cars. Our personal passion caught fire one morning when I had heard of a MINI, but had no clue what one was; had never seen one. I signed onto the Internet one Saturday morning in June, saw one, showed it to my husband, and the next Saturday we were at Rasmussen MINI in Portland buying two. We weren't even looking for a new car. For David, being of a terribly logical mindset, this was a huge leap. He's very conservative, and realizes that we have three children college bound, and a retirement not "too" far off in the future. (Okay, a decade or two). However, it was such a delight to be sitting in the back of the MINI on the test drive, and to see him whizzing around S-curves in Portland. He turned and gave me a look of pure delight, amazement, amusement, and sheer joy. I knew this car would be his "other woman." Now, we weren't only in Portland for MY car, but for his, too.

And that is the basic premise of this car--passion--methinks.

Dannette (and David, by proxy)

This is a hot pocket - it fits just behind the cup holders to create a storage unit!

I ordered mine at
TVA

Hey BJ where did you find that photo...

I've seen Jerseygirls Indi blue dash, but I've never seen painted downtubes before (and look! they're chili red, my favorite color!)

Very cool and unusual look methinks...

You've hit the nail on the head! You have just described MCO! It's a family! We have sisters, brothers, the smart mouth nephew, the neice in school, the fun chatty Aunt, the professional Mom, the Uncle who's a brain surgeon, the car mechanic Dad, the cousin you'd love to ****** bald! - you name it and we are all here! If you go to Off Topic , you will see our real lives, when we are not wrapped up in discussions about MINIs, discussing food, pets, husbands and wives, hometowns, movies, music, holidays, weather, etc...

We have several members of our Can't Wait 4 Nov Club who made their first posts to join us in our wait! You will just love this forum! The features on the left hand side of the page are great! Go to Member MINIs and just look at all the fantastic looking MINIs! The Forums are great too! Some are for Regions of the country or Mexico and Canada! Some are for Topics, like Interior and Exterior Modifications you want to know about! Just ask and someone will tell you an answer!

mbur-

congrats on making the transition to CR/W (good choice!)

i am also a convert, after seeing the light and switching from EB to CR. I have no doubts I will be MORE than happy with this color combo (whereas I had some significant misgivings about choosing the EB).

and it looks like our CR's will be production sibs! yay!

BJ-

cool!!! crispy crusty tender flaky crust hot pocket- I WANT ONE!

I'm also itching to get the GBO (another needless purchase to lavish on my baby that non-MINI owners will NEVER understand!)
