Yes - Chili Red (followed in 2nd by Indy Blue) seems very British to me!
I was torn between the two, wanting the Union Jack such as I do!

Here's Graham's MINI! He posted the photo and I guess it was the lighting or something about it, but I took one look at it and it made up my mind for me!

just checked out the site - that's pretty cool. Where do you generate those MINIs? That's a neat idea.

BTW, where in Michigan are you located? Just curious cause my wife and I often vacation at our family's cabin in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area on the western coast...wondering if you're anywhere near there or have heard of it. I love Michigan (except in the winter) and had never been there until I got married. I'm really excited now that we'll be able to take the MINI next year - that trip will never be the same again!!

I'm in Metro-Detroit, but I love the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, they're awesome! Be sure to get ahold of me next time you come up to MI with the MINI, we'll have an honorary MINI-meet with the MMMC for ya! :smile:

In other news, I'm going to be out of town for the weekend, starting in about an hour. I'm going to Indianapolis for the CEDIA audio/video expo. Everyone have a great weekend, and behave until I get back!

I hope this is not a stupid question. Where does a person locate the production status codes? I have a listing of what the codes mean, but I do not know where to look to find the code that reflects the status of my vehicle at this time. Any help woul dbe appreciated. Thanks.

By the way, the Owners Lounge reflects Production date of 10/10/03.

 

Toonses - I agree with you! Today I got my production number and I looked it up on MINIUSA and found it says Est production date 10-3-03 ! I'm really excited but I didn't see anywhere that it said my status code is 111.

I'm going to do some searching around and find out where we see those status codes on the MINIUSA site, I'll post back here what I find out!!!

Here is what I found out !

CALL 1 866 275-6464 (ASK-MINI)

They will look up your production number and tell you your status code! I just called and the lady said the codes are not on the MINIUSA site but I am more than welcome to call anytime I want and check the status!!!

She was great!!! I'm at status code 111 ! Est Prod Date 10-3-03.

She said the status code of 112 is the point where no changes can be made to your order! She also said if my Est Prod Date is going to change it will before code 112. She said after 112 the Est Prod Date and the Order are set!

Woo Hoo !

I actually printed part of the thread where the guy says exactly how to do it. You have to burn it to a CD because of the format it is in. but after that, it's great! and if I can do it - anyone can! I just load it up each time I want to play with it!

Yep add me to the list....Just plunked down my deposit tonight....and was told that there was a status change...you guessed it...I am no longer looking at an October delivery....more likely a November delivery.... DAMN! If I had only placed the order on Tuesday rather than Friday.....My MINI: BRG/WHT/SPT STS/BLK/SILV/15"8Star/No other options.( I Might add sun roof and bonnit stripes to jazz it up a bit!) PS: I REALLY WANTED THE VELVET RED WITH WHITE ROOF.

Thanks Pebbles for your foot work. I also called MINIUSA and wanted them to check my production number because the car that was displayed was not the car we ordered (the dealer stated that changes were made to order and would show up in a few weeks). MINIUSA told me to contact dealer because what I ordered and what they had were two different vehicles. Yikes. I have contacted the dealer and low and behold I was given the wrong production number. I just checked with MINIUSA and the new production number reflects the correct car. All is right in the world now. I will call MINIUSA today with my new production number and get the current status. Thanks again for checking this out. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

because i'm such a copy cat.. i called too. i've moved up.. now i'm 112! well, the bad thing was i was thinking about changing the color but i guess i'm destined for EB/B.

 

Count me in. Another first poster although I have been lurking for several weeks now. I was surprised at the promised November delivery. I did the deal at Momentum Mini (Houston) yesterday and walked out with a production number. Momentum does not seem to be as back logged as others.

I stayed with the 16" silver v spokes. These will get a set of Kuhmo autox tires and I'll buy a set of 17" wheels for the street. I went to the dealer unsure whether I was going to buy JB/JB or DS/B. Then I saw an all silver S on their lot. The silver roof looked real good against the dark sunroof. Really balanced the whole silver and black theme. Anyway I was hooked.

This will replace an 02 Mazda Protege5. A fun car but underpowered.

Yes, somewhere in the universe, it is meant for you to have a Electric Blue / Black roof MINI!! and at 112, your production date is locked in too! It can't be slipped back or pushed out!

Thanks for the warm welcome. The dealer said he had two open slots for an MCS on week 42 (w/o 13 Oct) I got one of those. The next available build dates were in week 44. I assume these are preliminary forecasts. There was some talk about cars coming faster lately than promised, and that cars in their allocation that showed owners were pushed ahead of the "unsold" units. I was in a bit of a daze at this point and was not taking this all in. I have yet to log in and check the status. They said it would be several days before it would show up.

I spoke to a very nice woman!

and it is good to know that the orders that are for people take first place before the orders dealers put in to fill up their slots in their allocation!

 

Pebbles, I did check the MINIUSA website and all of the options are correct with our order. What a relief. Now we just sit tight and wait until November.

I tried logging in but it would not let me complete the registration because I did not input the delivery mileage. Kind of a Catch 22 there. It also showed that I ordered a BRG car instead of silver. The dealer said that it would be several days before the oder information for my car showed correctly. The printout they gave me shows status code 111 - ORDER ACCEPTED AT AG.

Yes, they'd ordered a car for the dealership to sell off the lot in BRG and they are letting you have it's spot and it's production number. You have until status 112 to make changes to the car. You will have to check the options listed for your car or you could end up with all 3 packages, upgraded wheels, etc... (all the goodies the dealer would have put on a car to sell it off the lot at a pretty price) ...

(edit) I forgot - you could call MINI at the 866 ASK-MINI and see if the person there can change the color, options, etc... for you. Well unless you want to wait the few days and see the changes that come through from the dealer.
