Well, My Mini is on a SHIP??? or still waiting for the SHIP! I have no idea, I call ASK/MINI, and they told me they no longer track that?????? So they told me to call the Dealer, which I did, and they said they don't track what boat it is on ether... Hmmmmmmm So I guess I will have to wait? So confused....brain hurts..

Hey Moby,

Do you know about the WW cargo tracking site?

Click the link, pick "auto" from the list of choices, and then enter your VIN # in the Cargo Id field. It should tell you what ship you're on, when it leaves, arrives, etc.

Here's another useful link about tracking your MINI across the water.

Hi All,

I thought I'd update everyone - I've received "the call" and will be picking up
my yet unnamed Black and White S tonight at about 6.30. I have to say my
wife and I are Hella excited to pick up our Hella MINI! I've got the batteries
charging on my Coolpix and hope to get some nice shots to share with the
good folks of the November club tomorrow!

Thanks to Aaron and Ferman MINI for the great service (highly recommended).
They're even going to try to do the showroom "reveal" for my wife even though
they're booked solid on deliveries tonight.

I'm toying with not sleeping but rather motoring all night and watching the sunrise
over the Gulf of Mexico from the MINI before heading to work. It's a once in a lifetime (maybe) event so I say we might as well take advantage.

Good luck and patience to all those still waiting - your day will come too though it doesn't often seem like it!

M

Hi all, it's been a LONG time since I posted,,,,,with a EDD of 11/8 I truly have a Nov club car unlike some of you yahoos that have already picked up theirs (read intense jealousy). As many of you are aware, we tend to get OBSESSED about this wait. My wife thinks I'm certifiable being able to track teh Tia Shan across the pond, let alone know what ship it's on and it's schedule. While I haven't purchased anything other than a mouse pad and hat, I anxiously await the car to evaluate what I will do. YEARS ago I used to mod VW's so the tool chest will come back in handy, but I'm thinking air intake, pulley, & short shift to start. and round it out with a upgraded stereo,,although the aux in with an MP3 player's looking quick down and dirty. But first I have to get set up with winter tires, there's no snow yet here in Minisota, but it's close.

Now here's the suck part (excuse my english) I go in for knee surgery on the 6th :???: ,,,EDD is the 8th,,that blows, I won't be able to drive a stick for at least a week. I love my wife, BUT THERE IS NO WAY SHE"S DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT !!!!

While I don't have a name for the car, it's a Dark Silver on Dark Silver with Premium, Sport, and Cold packages plus leather. (Although I may regret not going with Pleather (BMW does it well) but the $1300 isn't going to kill me.) What's going to kill me is if the new 545 6 speed sport is on the lot when I pick up the Mini, that will put me in a quandry for sure.

I guess I better go out and hit my sales number so I can get both!!

OK, Better than that!!! I took off this afternoon to drive down to take photos. I couldn't find the cars on the lot so I asked Alex. He said both Mr Bridger and Mistoffolees were taken to the Body Shop this morning to be fitted with their Aero Kits! WOO HOO.

So I did all their paperwork, signed on the dotted line and everything's ready for my pick up. They even said I could pick up the car one day and have my brother come by with his pick up on Saturday to pick up my parts! SWEET !!

funny thing .... he wanted to give me a Fed Ex over night envelope for me to take home with me so I could go by my Credit Union and mail him my check !

I was born at night - but not last night

So I said, Sorry but I'm not sending you a check to purchase my car without seeing it and having the keys in my hand. Oh , well ok, we understand!

Who the hell pays for a car without seeing it?

Well, got to go for a walk!

I think I still have lingering MII - it feels about 6.0 right now, strange eh? Perhaps it's all the gross dirt all over him from the horribly gross weather since delivery yesterday.

--->fourkeelers, SHARP, and moby, hang in there, it's all worth it!

I DID MISS THIS !

On this MINI Impatience Index - I am sitting happy at 8.0 -- I'm really happy it's at the dealer and not on some ship or sitting at the VPC. I'd love to have it tomorrow but I also want the mods I've chosen installed correctly! But I am very excited that I've signed the papers, I have the exact amount I need to pick him up.

And finally an apology to spoonleg for my gender error. I am guilty of assuming that a gender neutral screen name belongs to a male. In the future I vow to assume every other such name is female , and hope that I do not get punched at some club function. Love your car Spoonleg. I hope to meet you someday at a Houston Mini Motoring Society meet.

Well, Question Man, it depends where you are. I'm in FL, so I'm getting off in Charleston. People in the Northeast generally offload in NY, and people in the Southeast get off in Charleston. And our Texas peeps are getting off in Charleston, too. If that doesn't answer your question, you should probably ask your MA, aka dealer.

OK, now I'm gonna rant.

Traveler, you are so right! First we got waitlisted, then our ship has to stop in Baltimore to pick up some crabcakes or whatever, and then it gets to Charleston LATER than the ship that left three days later! That's utter crap!

I'm getting nervous about my MINI. I really hope it doesn't have any defects/rattles/buzzes/problems/issues. I live 2 1/2 hours away from the bloody dealer! It's not like I can drop by whenever! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I'm freaking out! Help!

Wow, Question Man, you're pretty quick on the trigger there! You should get a prize for that!

I'm hoping for Thanksgiving too. Turkey, stuffing, Cooper S. Now there's a meal!

Well, we successufully adopted our MINI last night and I can't say enough about the
service. We even showed up late and they were nice enough to stay after closing
for us to get everything squared away.

Unfotunately my wife thought better of motoring through the night as I had planned
but we got enough in to satisfy me for the evening and boy does that boot
get filthy in a hurry (and don't even get me started on the brake dust!).

There is nothing I can say here to add to what's already been said about what a pleasure
the car is as those who have your cars know. I'm thoroughly happy with it and cannot wait to continue driving. I haven't noticed any problems with any of the known trouble areas yet.
Time will tell on that.

Please enjoy my some photo-journalism from last evening and this morning.

Mnesiac, your MINI looks AWESOME!!! Congrats!! Your photos look great! Does the car cover come with car?

My Black/White MINI should be rolling off the Phoenix-Diamond TODAY!!! Our MINIs are identical except that I have white wheels. Sounds like I am going to have a tougher time with brake dust.

Hey, guys:I guess Ihave been posting in the wrong thread. I was told my car would get here in dec (so I am in the Cant't Wait 4 Dec thread), but I had an early production date, and he is currently crossing the pond on the Tosca and will get off the boat at Charleston, as well (on the 6th). Today my MA says i will likely take delivery at the end of Nov- which is a 2 week bump for me

So good luck to all 61 MINIs on the Tosca (call sign: S6AN), and I hope the navigator is in AA.

Hey Jet,

Thanks for the kind words and congrats are soon to be in order for you as well it sounds. The
brake dust is horrendous. I've had 4 BMWs and this is as bad or worse than I've ever seen! I don't mean to be a downer but I gotta keep it real, ya know. That so far is the only disappointment - I suppose it'll just keep me honest and on my washing schedule.

Sorry to hear about your lack of wash facilities. It's not the worst thing in the world - you'll get a lot of attention at the wash!!
