Can't seen to find the "Phoenix Diamond" . I'd like to try to figure out when it will be coming through the Panama Canal. They have web-cams at both locks and I thought it would be cool to see it there.

LeeL - I was shown as booked on the Tosca for two days and then switched to the Tai Shan. Don't give up hope.

We are closing in on the first November Club deliveries. The excitement builds. Anyone having trouble getting to sleep at night?

I guess we're the only two here in the club sailing on the Phoenix. I've had no luck tracking the ship on any of the different websites. I think the ship probably has just not reported in... I'm hoping that's a good sign... no news is good news!, right?

Well, I've heard back from the Panama Canal Authority and they've said that the Phoenix MIGHT be sailing through on Sunday or Monday. I couldn't get a definitive answer from them because they don't really know until the ship shows up. There's an e-mail link on the web cam page that you can use to contact them.

How far does your MINI have to travel once it lands in Hueneme? I'm in LA, so it doesnt have to travel too far before it gets to the dealer. I can't wait!!

I need you to change the name of my MINI on the Can't Wait 4 Nov Web Site to "Mr. Bridger". I did some hard thinking about it and it will definately better suit my car and the way I drive. I've spent the last couple days watching the Italian Job movies. Each time I heard them say Mr. Bridger, I thought, I've got to use that as my MCS's name.

BTW - I bought the box set for $31.44 at Amazon.com. It was WAY cheeper than what I could find at Borders or Barnes and Noble bookstores. I even clicked the free shipping so I got it for the $31.44!

your salesman sounds really good! I've never heard from mine at all. He's never answered any e-mails or phone calls. I guess I can say he is not the "Hound you into buying" type of car salesman! I wonder if he'll bother to call me when he want's my Cashier's Check ? ? ?

I have a MINI grand scheme edit; Selling my white S-lites with Pirelli's, using my 10-spokes and getting Parada2's in stock 205/45-17 size, and getting secret 18's and putting on Sumitomo HTR+ in 215/35-18. I realized pure snows are too expensive and give up too much decent-road for the constantly plowed (and generously salted) roads here in wintertime. If anyone's interested in my future 20-mile-new S-lites and Pirelli set, please, please, please get ahold of me

The Tai Shan was supposed to have sailed today but when I try to check the status I get an error message. The WW site has been buggy all weekend. I am hoping that we are all on board enjoying the first night banquet and that the site is just slow to update.

It says I'm on the Tanabat too, but when I try to get a schedule for it, the site can't find it in its records.

You're right, Traveler, this site has been behaving strangely these past few days. I'm trying to take deep breaths and relax! Our Minis will get here eventually, whether we can track them or not, right?

What happens when you click on the "voyage" number link (fourth down on left, under vessel name)? Do you get an error message that says something like "pool connect failed"? Or does it show you the voyage schedule for the Tai Shan like it's supposed to?

I can't even get it to show the schedules for ships my Mini may or may not be on! I've tried a few ways to get there, including searching by ports and by vessels, for both Tai Shan and Tanabata, and it keep saying "pool connect failed!"

I lucked out also.

According to WW, I was loaded on the Tai Shan yesterday, and the vessel is underway.

Cool, the WW site seems to be back up.... and I was able to see that the Otello has already left Halifax and is once again at sea.

Sweet. 3 days to Georgia then on to Cali.

 

Yeah, it's working now.

I'm on the Tanabata, leaving Southampton on 10/23, getting to Charleston SC on 11/7, at least for now. I'm still waitlisted, so I guess it could change.

There are 3 different ships scheduled to make Charleston on 11/7: Hual Triton, Tokyo Highway, and Tanabata. The Tosca leaves on 10/25, but gets to SC on 11/4.

I find it hard to believe that they'll offload 3 ships on the same day, so maybe these dates will change.

Let me just say that I've become a compulsive Mini tracker. I need medication.

With you on that one. Try checking the booking number for your voyage. My MINI was waitlisted for the Otello, but then so was every other car on its manifest. We all got loaded. Previously my car was only one of a handful waitlisted on the Phoenix but that time the ship sailed without it.

 

Just checked the W&W site and it appears all of us going into SC from the JINGU MARU have been officially DISCHARGED to the VPC...

 

Well I called 866/askmini and they told me that my Mini cooper S was built and is waiting to be put on a train, then from there get on the ship. This is going alot faster then I though, its crazy.....I can't wait!!!!

So now we are waiting at the VPC - the prison - where there's no word in or out!

and Moby - I had the same feeling about the production process. One minute nothing and the next the car was built and ready to be booked and shipped! It seems to go really fast at times.

and don't worry Countrym - we are become totally obcessed with tracking the ships. I was checking it 2-3 times a day. Thank heaven my MINIs been Discharged from the ship so I can get some rest!
