Well my story is a little better. Discharged at Charleston on the 6th and arrival at the dealership on the 12th (today), and i pickup Friday. So an 8 day turnaround from docking to delivery.

 

Calling all Otello gang! We have finally been discharged. Yahoo! I had to check by booking number: GBSOU140326, since my Vin Number does not come up anymore.

Not only that but the OL lists my MINI at the Distribution Center!

 

OL still lists us as En Route. Shucks. Maybe that means en route to dealership! Just wishful thinking on my behalf.

Dang! I wonder if there is more than one CA Dist Center. What dealership is Gary going to? Mine is going to East Bay Mini in Nor Cal

 

Gary is going to Niello BMW in Sacramento.

 

Well, the picture has improved somewhat. Since checking a few hours ago we've been upgraded from being adrift at sea to Discharged. However, our dealership claims they have no idea, and according to their records one car in on the boat, and one is off.

Yes, if you are talking about the Jingu Maru, I would have to agree with Thanksgiving weekend. I haven't officially checked with the dealer -leaving a small element of surprise for a few more days. With the holiday, I'm planning to pick up HOTWLZ the first week of December. Any sooner will be a pleasant surprise.

 

Yikes! We were down to page 2. I just checked the OL and it shows my EDD as 11/13!

 

Well I would have had mine on the 10th, but didn't take it home, because I wanted them to install my aero kit, and aux......... Its really hard to drive past every morning just to see my car sitting in the lot, cold, alone.....wanting me.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The Owners Lounge finally has me at the VPC . . . only six days after I got off the boat! It must be a really long way from the dock to the VPC!

I left a message. No word yet. I am dealing with the GM since my MA was "discharged". I guess he wants to keep the commission.

edit - I just learned from another Houstonite that his EDD changed to 11/13 this morning as well. I am hoping that this means a truck in on the road.

Well, my baby isn't listed as discharged, but according to the W&W site, the Jingu Maru has sailed from New York, so I can only assume that the MINIs are now "feet dry". Now for the tracking black hole while I wait for a call from my MA.

 

What a nerve racking day. No word from the dealer (of course) but over on the MINIUSA boards I counted four other Houston folks who had their EDD bumped up to 11/13 as of this morning. I just checked again and one has reported that their car was unloaded at 5:50 this evening. I just tried to call myself but I'm too late. The good news is that I'm off tomorrow. I've got to run the kid to the orthodontist on that side of town in the morning and then I am there. (Don't worry about school kid, we've got business to take care of.

 

Hey guys, I've re-surfaced! I've been away from this site for a while because I've cancelled my DSL service at my house when I moved out last weekend. Oh, and the other reason... I've been having the time of my life driving my new MINI!!! I picked it up on Monday and have been racking up the miles ever since. I've got nearly 300 miles on it and everything is working great! The only complaint is a slight buzz on the speakers (stock CD player installed).

To all of you who are waiting... be patient... it will be here before you know it. My MINI was hanging around the docks in CA for a full 8 days before I got the call! I was in the middle of moving from my house (just sold it!) to my new place near the beach when I got the call from my MA. I had to tell him that I wouldn't be able to pick it up for another 2 days due to my move.

Well, it may be a while before I check back in her... until I get DSL at the new place. So, I'm posting a few pics of my MINI. I hope it works. I'm planning on installing stripes and chrome grilles soon. I'll post more pics then.

Well my MINI is on the Otello as well. My EDD is listed as Novemeber 12th in the Owners Lounge. When I called ASK MINI their computer was down and they were unable to track. When I called after hours tonight, It is still listed as In Transit, same as it has been for over a week. My dealer is unable to track cause they have moved to a web based computer system and it has been down for a week. They had a call into the Port yesterday, but I have heard nothing back. The car is being delivered to MINI of Mountain View in Northern California....sigh.

Unless, of course, your car is heading for Charleston, where it will unload tomorrow.

Unfortunately they wont turn him over to me until the 18th (tuesday). So now I have to suffer through the weekend with no MINI.

MY BLUE BRUMMIE HAS ARRIVED !!!!!!!!

The tick... tick.... ticking in my head has come to a blissful end.

Mini of Peabody, and specifically Keith, did a great job in getting the vehicle to me as quickly as possible. They are an outstanding organization.

On to Blue Brummie. First of all, what a machine! I just love this car! Put 100 miles on it so far, and no complaints. I'm going to put many more miles on this weekend, so I'll write more about my first impressions on Monday. As soon as I get some pics, I'll post them (assuming I can figure out how

By the way, it's tough to work today. Keeping a business demeanor is difficult when I've got a grin from ear to ear !!

My MA called me at home last night. I assumed he was calling to answer some financing questions I had. Then he asks me when I can pick the car up. And I said, "I don't know, why?"

"BECAUSE IT JUST GOT HERE, AND YOU CAN PICK IT UP TOMORROW IF YOU WANT!"

So my brand new MCS is sitting at the dealer in Jacksonville, and I'm here at work in Tallahassee trying to figure out a way to get over there ASAP. I can't wait to pick it up!
