SONRACER was on Tai Shan with EDD of 10/11. Turns out it got to his dealer in VA. on 10/7. He'll pick it up on 10/11. My mcs, also on Tai Shan, has EDD 10/8 but not at dealer yet. Had hopes of getting it Friday 10/10 but now that is up in the air.

I hope that saturday works as well Cosquilla, if it doesnt, I wont get to see my girlfriend that lives 3 hours away (yeah!!!!!!!! ).

Darn, still at the VPC says OL, but I wouldnt be suprised if I'm already at the dealer and the OL does change later.

I am from the Tai Shan...

I went to talk to my MA today just to see what was up. When I pulled into the lot, Ox was sitting there!!! It had just been talken off the truck today. It looked great!

I made an appointment for Monday cuz my girlfriend is in Utah and she would be none-too-happy if I picked it up without her. Plus I took a spin in the Pepper White MCS they had for their demo. What a great hump-day.

Only 4 more days!

The engine break-in is progressing nicely!!!! If you haven't had the chance to put it together yet....I do a lot of driving!!! I picked up my MINI Saturday and today hit 850 miles!!! This weekend I also have an 800 mile road trip so the MINI will be fully broken in.

But...I digress......today I started pulling the rpms up just a little higher and running it a little harder. As I was getting into town on the way home from work I realized there was a little Miata working to keep pace with me .....hmmmmmmm........how hard does he want to work????? I realized it was a neighbor who I really don't know yet and I can hear him working away on his Miata ALL the time. It is obviously modded heavily. So, I let it rip. The first corner I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he may not have been ready for me to take off, but the second corner left him staring at a a couple of quickly dimming tail-lights!!! I came out of the corner at about 5700 rpm and the MINI handled GREAT!!!! The MINI is definitely getting faster across the whole rpm range and it is as impressive as hell!!!

The car is getting even more impressive then I felt it was after my many test drives, which included a JCW test drive. The drive this coming weekend should be a fun one....along the twisty roads in southern Missouri...oh yea!!!!

"The Red One" is at the dealership! This morning, when I checked into the Owner's Lounge, my status had changed from "AT DISTRIBUTION CENTER" to "AT YOUR MINI DEALER." I was skeptical and didn't want to get too excited. I emailed my MA, and heard back in about twenty minutes. He replied, " I have the shop preparing your MINI at this very moment." I wasn't having a very good day, but that changed very fast!

I'm picking her up on Friday at 1:00PM. Will take pictures and will post them on Monday night. We're going to spend the weekend in Chicago, with lots of plans, but I'll get some motoring in!

Looks like most of the Tai Shan crowd is coming home! Best of luck to you all.

This may be redundant so forgive me.

How accurate is the 'Estimated Delivery Date' in the Owners Lounge? The dates previously given throughout the ordering, manufacture and shipping have all be on or before the dates listed.

I currently have a delivery date of 10/11/03 which is this saturday, this is sooner than I was expecting. I was/am expecting it on the 15th simply from the timeline the dealer had outlined for me when I ordered.

I'm not going to hold my breath for saturday. :smile:

My EDD was the 7th, it's now the 9th and it doesnt matter as long as it gets there by satruday! Seems like a week to a week + 1/2 after you get to the vpc unless there's a problem.

Big question! Is the leatherette in MCS has the lumbar support??? I thought i does, but i dont have it!

So is it in your driveway or is at at the dealership waiting for you to actually pick it up and take home? Happy for you my friend, glad it was all good and you were just overacting . This bodes well for me as well, if Andre didnt get to the dealer today (if he did why didnt my parents get a phone call?!:evil: ) then he'll be there tomorrow and ready for Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the inside though seeing all the pretty pics, I have 2 more days too long!

im another tai shan alumni. my EDD has been changed since yesterday from today (thursday the 9th) to sunday the 12th. its not a big deal though because i cant pick it up until the 18th anyway. my dad is outa town (in england accually) so we cant do all the paper work and drive down to chicago so i gotta wait for him to come back first. its soooo close now

For the past several days my EDD was 10/8. Just this morning checked and now says "At VDC". Looks like my plans to take delivery on 10/10 just went up in smoke. Will call my MA later this AM to see if he has more current info.

John: What am I missing. How do you know when my EDD is? Some inside connection?

Last I knew OL still said 10/4 but I go and look now and sure enough it says 10/10. Not that I believe that. The dealer (Peabody) doesn't even have it yet as far as I know. And once they do I still have to wait for the Certificate of Origin to get there. Of course maybe they do have it and I just don't know. OL still says at VPC and my MA doesn't seem to read his email.

EDD just changed this morning from 10/9 to 10/11. I still think that is optimistic but so be it. My dealer is Cincinnati MINI and I came thru New York. Glad to see others off the Tai Shan are getting their MINIs, mine can't be far behind (I hope).
