Chrisfb1... My car arrived in port 10/2, EDD 0f 10/4, I contacted my MA and he told me the VPC was running behind by about 4-5 days due to some emissions stuff. In fact, he really didn't know where my car stood. It could show up on Mini of Towson's doorstep tomorrow. If I'm lucky, I may be able to pick my car up on friday of this week, but I'm guessing I won't see delivery until next week or later. I would have to say most of us are in the same boat as you....just be patient.

I just saw that vid of the convoy to get the Italian Job movie in Toronto.

My mom emailed me and told me she talked to Scott (my MA of questionable knowledge) about our car. He said if there are no problems that it could be at the dealer tomorrow. Of course I already knew this, he's probably just guessing as well, but whatever, it's more confirmation and it makes me feel good).

To the TAI SHAN crowd - let's compare notes.

My MC was a NYC offload to VPC on 10/02. What have I heard or read?

The MiniUSA site says "En Route" and gives a 10/04 EDD. ASKMINI says "En Route", and cautions that the NYC offload date means one to two extra weeks before I can drive it away. Some of you in here voice that same opinion.

Talked with my MA (Mini of Towson, Md) today and she says it will be at their dealership Friday 10/10 and they will try to hand me the keys same day.

Who or what do I believe? I think the advice from ASKMINI about one to two extra weeks from the landing date is a true assessment. The Friday driveaway is just a dream or a putoff, IMO.

Let's hear it from you Tai Shan alumni. What are your takes, and when do you expect a driveaway?

(On a down note for me, if I don't get my MC by Saturday, I will have to leave it at dealer for up to 10 days - out-of-town. Hope it is not one of their demos before I get back&gt

WOW. They even put the MINI logo on the front of the hull. Never noticed that before.

 

CASUALTY!! Not only was one of the first to take delivery, we are only into the first week of October, and sad to say, I am the first victim of another's driving STUPIDITY! OK, nothing major at all, but my stomach dropped a few feet this morning when I noticed the front licesnse plate crinkled up. It looks as if a pointy object struck it very hard. Upon further examination, I realized there is no other damage, and the plate took the entire blow along with the plate holder of course. This just ruined my day, but I feel much better about it now that I've come to my senses. I'll just have to get new plates, and the funny thing is, I don't even have my permanant registration mailed to me yet.

 

LOL, forgot to say great job with that webcam pic mil76, pretty interesting. Just leave it up on your computer until it goes through.

Once you're at the VPC cosquilla, you should only be about a week or week and a half after that, unless you get damaged. I was offloaded in Charleston on the 2nd as well. That gives them NINE days to look it over, get it down to the dealer, and the dealer to prep it. That sounds like plenty of time to me, and if I dont get Andre this saturday I will cry then I will be mad. As I said above my MA says it could be here as early as tomorrow, which is plenty early as we wont be going to get it til saturday, so just hold on all of those that havent gotten their MINIs yet, this last week is horrible!!!!!!!

 

Hey all, I'm back!!! Just moved in to a new house last week, and the house is still a total mess, but I have a ton of good news!!!

1) DSL installed, so now I can actually use my computer again!!!
2) Auto Loan approved!!! As some of you may remember, my last post a couple weeks ago saw me having difficulty getting a loan...well, I finally was able to get a loan, thank God!!!
3) My MINI is at the dealership as we speak!!! I'd love to go have a peek at her, but the dealership is a three-hour drive, so I'll have to wait until...
4) this Saturday (Oct. 11) to go pick her up!!! I've never seen one in person with the Union Jack installed, so that alone will make my MINI special to me!!! :smile:

*looking at the clock and calendar* C'mon Saturday!!!

Thrillhouse were you the one that couldnt get a loan and might have had to give up your MINI, I think that's what I remember. I'm picking mine up this saturday too, too bad we are not at the same dealership.

Your welcome cosquilla, I just want this to end, we're all almost there! It'll be like the shawshank redemption when saturday rolls around!

I'm a Tai Shan Alumni. My OL shows "At Distribution Center" with an EDD of 10/6. Since I can only take delivery on Saturday, I think I have a good chance at 10/18, but possibly 10/25, depending on how long it takes at the VDC.
When I ordered my MINI, I was told early November delivery.
I'll contact my MA later this week and see what he knows. I'm trying to stay calm!

hi all
It seems that i'm not the only one waiting for a after edd delivery.

I'm going to Hilton Head this weekend, first time this year(used to live there). I have a lot of friends gonna gether together.
I really wish that i could take delivery before Friday.
MA said it should be here tomorrow, so i should make it.

Any one has some good tips of driving long distance in the break-in period???

I dont wanna hurt my MINI, but i need to drive at least about 300miles.

Anyone has some good tips???

EDD is showed 10/5, it is BS. I called them yesterday the 6th, nothing showed up yet.

Should i trust the OL?

Well guys, i called mini and my dealer today, and was told by both that my car is still on the docks!! I guess we will know real soon since it is already 1:30 am. Me thinks that mini needs to IMPROVE the communications, if any exist after the production date that is. Hope everyone is enjoying their new mini"s in this warm spell we are having this week. drive safe , Tim

 

Tim - I have you listed on the Tosca, which was originally scheduled to arrive in NY on Thursday. I'd tend to trust the W&W site/people, especially versus MINIUSA or your dealership. Good luck

I was on the Tai Shan. Unloaded 10/1 and delivered to VPC 10/2. OL says at Distributiion Center and has an EDD of 10/4. Of course today is 10/8 so needless to say, that didn't happen. ASKMINI also says at Distrbution Center. My MA doesn't know any more than I know but indicated he expected it to arrive at the dealer this week. Then 2 days for the Certificate of Origin. Apparently can't register without it here in Mass. So unless it shows up today, it looks like I will be waiting 'till next week.

I guess the Don Quijote picture came up for some of you. I have no idea why they don't come up now. I just got an account with Roadfly yesterday and this is the first picture I've uploaded so I'm pretty clueless. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, as I'd like to figure this out so I can post the important pictures (my car) when it comes in.

As far as EDDs go, my EDD is still 10/15, but the boat doesn't get in until the 13th. I'm starting to wonder if my thoughts of getting the car by Halloween are a little too optimistic.

 

Well guys... the moment is about to come... I got a call from my dealer late yesterday, and she said I can pick it up tonight!!!!

I'm gonna bring my workplaces digital camera, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to upload the pics for ya guys... but I'll try to write something later.....

Mil76- where is your MINI going? Mine is coming up to WA state and my MA said to plan on 7-10 days.

I think we'll both be motoring WAY BEFORE HALLOWEEN!! (fingers and toes crossed!)

Last I heard from my MA (Monday), my MINI is still at the VPC. OL finally updated from En Route to At Distribution Center last night, but my EDD stayed unchanged, 10/9. That's tomorrow and REAL unlikely. Glad to hear that someone off of the Tai Shan is getting their MINI, mine cant be TOO far behind.

Great news! I received a call from my MA this morning and I'm picking my car up on Friday!!!! :smile: :smile:

Today is the second promised EDD date. My EDD has changed once, now we will see what's coming up!
