R50/53 The "Can't wait for October" club
I suppose I didn't even mention the MINI Fini cup holder when I took that '04 MCS for a drive! Yes, it was in there, and totally in the way  Of course, you all know how thrilled I am about yet another cup holder in our sports car
Glad to year from Cooper4us that removing it didn't result in scratches [whew, breathes easier]
Fuzzyface ---> I do find time to sleep, it's just my work schedule that gets truncated!

I spoke with my MA today. He told me my car would be at the dealer Saturday morning and if I wanted to pick it up right away he would do whatever was neccessary. I decided to wait until next Friday, 10/17 to pick it up. I figured what's another 7 days? I didn't want to take the chance of them rushing around and not give "Betty" the 100% attention she deserves.

Good news to all of my car's fellow Tosca passengers: according to the W&W site, the ship arrived in NY on Wed, Oct 8 and left today, Oct. 9. My car was unloaded at 3:00pm today!
I spoke with my MA today and he said that he has no info, but given the fact that it hit the VPC today it should be at the dealership by next friday! It's beginning to get very exciting!

Time for my one week update!
In the past week, I put a bit more than 400 miles on my car. I refueled once; OBC indicated 27mpg for my first tank, but my hand calculation showed 25mpg.
There are two schools of thoughts for breaking-in; I drove mine like I stole it most of the time. I love the fact that the resistance on the E-gas throttle is so much lighter than my previous BMW's cable-operated throttle. It makes it much easier to floor it.
I have had a few people come up to me and ask me questions. Their first reaction has always been, wow, that's expensive. (I told them 17K and up) The average public seem to see MINI as something like a Geo Metro - cheap, light, small, spartan, slow. Today I took the car in for the inspection sticker; the inspection guy actually thought it was an electric car.... He asked me if this car burned gas.
Fortunately most of my friends are well aware of what MINIs are and what MINIs are capable of. I might have convinced a couple of friends to look at a MINI for their next car.
The car smelled very badly after I drove it during the first few days. However that smell has gone away. It is either cosmoline burning off, or I was buring clutch. Either way, it doesn't smell anymore.
Xenons are awesome, and DRLs are awesome. My MINI looks really pretty at night, with all the lights turned on.
Of the four cupholders, I used the MINI-FINI one the most (not to put drinks in, but for my cell phone, garage remote, etc). It looks out of place, but it is really convenient. It always gets in the way of everything though..... It gets in the passenger's leg when in use, jams into the chair when folding the chair forward, and the gearshift hits it when I shift into 5th gear.
My Nav already taught me a few short-cuts that I did not know about. I no longer carry any maps in my car.
That's about all I have to say for now. Going to Texas this weekend, so no motoring in my MINI for me. I'll check back in with you guys on Tuesday. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Katana, thanks for your OWLA is cool - a few points different than what I've experienced: Most everyone always thought Mr.Motor was very expensive. Repeatedly I had people ask "Wow, how much is that, like 50-60K?"
I still haven't seen any pics from you! Got any yet?

I knew it would, just getting antsy, didnt want to be going home for nothing.
It's 5am over here on the east coast and I just checked the owners lounge because I'm trying to find something to do and it says at the dealer, so if the OL, being slow as it is, says at the dealer then it's most definately at the dealer and has probably been so for a day or two, heck, they probably already got the clear bra on.
By the way, what's the deal with washing/waxing with the clear bra?

yesterday my boss and i were talking about a mini up for grabs in a raffle. 300 tix at $100 each. He was like how can they give that car away for only raising 30,000? I told him the S starts just below $20,000 and he was pleasently supprized. then i told him i didnt want to buy a ticket because i am getting one in a week!!!!
(not for $100 tho)

Well its been 1 week since I took delivery of my new MCS and have put a hair over 300 miles. Have refueled once and my MPG is hovering around 21 and 22 because I am doing city driving most of the time. The car drives and handles like a dream. My approach to the break in period has simply been to stick to the guidelines in the user manual. No full throttle starts, no tire squealing, no sudden hard breaking either. I shift between 2K and 3K RPM and haven't driven it faster than 70MPH. The car is really beggin for so much more, but I am taking it easy until I get to the magic 1,250 mile mark, so like they say, good things come to those who wait.

Just got an update on Sgt. Pepper. Owners Lounge
says it is En Route to the VDC with an EDD of 10-18.
That Saturday is already so busy for me. I hope it comes
in a few days early.
Decided to go with Yoko ES100s on my R90s instead of
paying the exhorbitant amount Mini dealer wanted to
mount my run flats on them. That'll be just a 3 mile
drive to the tire store after I pick up the car.
I wanted to go on a Mini rally on Sunday the 19th but
I don't know if I will have my car by then. Hope so.

I'm past 200 miles now... I've been pretty rough on Honey (my car's name is Honey Ryder) the past few days... I'm adhering to 4K rpm thing and less than 90 mph, but otherwise I'm pretty much driving it like I stole it. I peeled out once... (couple of idiots in a minivan were revving up their engine trying to get me to go... so I took for em' VERY FUN!...) And I've done the empty parking garage skidpad tests

Very nice coper4us
Well guys, I'm off to Jacksonville to get Andre, by the end of the weekend he should have about 400 miles on him, none of which will adhere to the factory break in procedure.

Baby blue is my favorite color (otherwise known as Electric Blue), OutKast is my favorite group, since Andre 3000s favorite color is baby blue as well I decided to pay homage to the group that inspires me. Hence the name. Im wearing a baby blue shirt (matches exterior) and balck shorts (matches interior, dont have anthracite clothes) when I go to pick it up. Woooooooooooo. Later guys!!!!!!!!!!
Definately, I have the digi with me and about 200megs of storage. Beware though I'm taking high quality shots and they might be big! I'm sitting here still waiting for my ride to call me. I dont want to stand out in the heat. Look forward to the pics on sunday night, one of the rarely seen all electric blue MINIs.
