Ryephile, to add to the list. I am getting a DS/B MCS with silver wheels and Anthracite trim. No options, just Xenon lights. It will have been a year since I put my name on the waiting list st Long Beach Mini. The price you pay for MSRP here in LA I guess

I'm not sure if the a year-long wait is better than my 2nd time around 3-month wait. I've already had a serious taste of the MINI, and now I'm starving for more!

Ryan: Don't worry about spaming......I enjoy your posts, you seem to know what you're talking about. I'm especially insterested in that configurator if you get it working. I don't think I've seen a photo of the exact combo we're waiting for......though I'm sure it is common. DS with white roof and white v spokes. This will be an addition to the family, can't justify selling the reliable 97 Honda Civic.

Nice Job Ryan,

I have a change though. I'm actually getting the 8 spoke wheels instead of the holeys. Although both look pretty plain compared to some of the wheels folks are getting. Oh well, I can always upgrade later.

Also, it appears I'm the only one getting a CVT. Does that make me a "special" member of the CWFOC family? As in, "I get to ride the short bus to school!" special.

 

Here is my spec:

2004 MCS:

Base price: $19,999 (Including destination)

Total $21,389

My '04 MCS will only be $34 more expensive than a comparably equipped '03 MCS!! I am so glad I waited 10 long months for a 2004 instead! (I was expecting a hefty surcharge for the new model year).

I will be adding the dealer installed Rear Fog Lights ($75) and the now available MCS 3 slats front chrome grille (Also dealer installed) for $96.50.

All I need to find out for my dealer is the labor costs to install the rear fogs and the chrome grille and I 'll be set!!! Can't wait!!!

12 of us have ordered the Harman/Kardon stereo upgrade

2 have ordered the DVD based NAV system

4 have ordered regular Coopers

5 of us ordered our cars without the Panorama sunroof

Hey thanks for the page Ryan. Very Cool. Uh-oh, what happens if you like somebody elses color combo better than your own? I think we're sticking with Dark Silver but the Red has been tempting me over the past few days. Anybody know how late in the game you can change a spec?

 

The easy answer on your spec-change is: until your order is sent to the factory by your dealership. In other words, if you already have a production number, it's most likely too late. Contact your real MA for exact info (yes, the VMA does not know all!)

--->par_shooter (and everyone else freaking out); I know the feeling! There are SO many awesome MINI configurations, it's very tough to find one you like the most. I was a nervous WRECK for the last few weeks until delivery, wondering if the moment I saw it, I'd puke and wish I got a different color. Well, that didn't happen. The first time I actually saw Mr.Motor, I was bowled over how awesome it looked. Take it from me, every MINI so far has a great quality of its' own, and I'm sure you'll love it!

That is very sharp!!! It almost has me wishing I would have opted for the Pepper White instead of Dark Silver.

 

Well, I am back from my weekend visit to Kansas City and another visit to the MINI dealer. While there my first objective was to truely test the stereo and make the final choice. When I was in two months ago I thought the base stereo would be good enough. When I really sat there and worked the settings and played a few different types of music I decided "I NEED the upgrade!!" So, back inside to let my MA know. Turns out, that as of this coming Monday the car specs are locked in and Saturday was the last chance to change it. WHEW!!!!!

Next, ask my MA for the keys....again!!!! Last visit I was with my wife and it was blazing hot....so, two people in the car, AC running....and I still loved it. Saturday though......HOLY CRAP......it was only 9 AM so the windows were down and only me. It was fantastic!!! Starting at 55 MPH in 2nd and blasting up to 70 mph was truely impressive. The car enters a whole different realm at that point!!! Since it was early I also headed out to a large empty mall parking lot and ran my own tests with the DSC on and off. For all the threads I have read about the intrusiveness of the DSC I was worried.....but to my surprise it wasn't bad at all. Sure, if I was on the track I wouldn't want it on, but the idea that it's going to bog me down and get me in an accident or ruin the driving experience....I don't think so!!!! It worked nicely and I was happy with it.

So, I motored back into the dealer about 10 or 10:30 AM and luckily my MA didn't even mention I had been out for a while (a long while!). It was great and I am counting the days until my mid-Oct delivery!!!!

Aren't MINI dealerships awesome! It's great how the MA's invite you to push the car and take long test drives (as long as you bring it back in one piece ).
Your test-drive story was great Tim, and I'm glad that you picked the H/K, if you're a music-nut, you'll enjoy it definitely. It also fits your "factory warranty performance" theory with the JCW kit.

One other note to add about my trip to the dealer this past weekend. My MA confirmed that the price increase was $24. As for the options pricing, she didn't have exact numbers, she estimated that for the packages/options I have, the total price increase would be about an additional $75. So, $100 total, not too bad!!

 

My MCS is replacing a 1985 Bertone X1/9 which was wrecked when a driver pulled out in front of me two months after I ordered the Mini. I loved the go-kart feel of the Bertone and hope that the Mini is just as fun.

I originally ordered a ly/b MCS but switched to CR/B after seeing the one on the today show that Jay Leno drove. Thought it looked great and a little more offbeat.

Ryan - I ordered mine from MCM April 19th and I'm jealous of your short wait. (I do feel for you losing your mini though )

The price for Premium and Sport packages, and Leather has bumped to $1,300, up $50 from previously.
