Arrrrrg!

I just checked the Owners Lounge site and discovered that my estimated production date had slipped from 9/19 to 9/26! I'm sure it happens all the time--and, in fact, that was my original date--but with all the talk of VINs and 9/5 production dates, it's a bit harder to take.

Should I start browsing through the "Can't wait for November" club's posts?

Cooper4us,

Does this mean there is only one car between us on the line or are the VINs not produced sequentially? I might have a line buddy!

Reid.

Yo Folks, Just talked to mini on the phone and he told me that it takes 3 to 5 days to produce a car. Our prod date is set for 9/19 and he said it'd prob be at status 150 next week. He said to call next week to check. Extremely nice fella. Am goin nuts waitin. If I didn't have the wife to pick on, would be in a very bad mood.

I guess I better join before the car shows up!

MCS
EB/W
Silver Wheels
Space Cloth/silver trim
Premium
Sport
Cold
H/K
Auto Dimming Mirros
Grey Rubber Floor Mats
JCW Kit
Self Install-Chrome Grills, clear tail lights
(I would love the driving lights, but maybe later).

Closest dealer is in Michigan (65 miles away), but I'm getting a car quicker going out of state (350 miles away).

Est. Build date is 9/26.

I'm guessing the waiting gets worse as I get closer to the delivery date...Argh!

Reid, I think we do have a car in between  Funny thing is that the same exact thing happened to me last year while waiting for the '02 Cooper CVT...someone else here in MCO was also one car behind mine but I never knew who was waiting for that car in between

I just called 866 ASK MINI and my MINI started production on August 19th and he estimated it would be done today!
British Racing Green with a white top Sun roof Chrome bumpers. His name is Evergreen. I am already in love and we have not even met yet.
I am leaving in a couple days to take a train from flagstaff to Chicago, going to a football game at Notredame. I will be gone for two weeks, by the time I get back my baby will probably be on his way! Yippi

Not only got my MINI mug, but last night received a customer satisfaction call from MINI USA. Needless to say, I gave a glowing report to Westchester.

Welcome Mokeefe, another Michigander! ...and our 4th JCW kit

I'm kind of surprised we have no Black or Solid Gold MINI's in our lineup.

-->nightowl, if you're out there still, are you able to still get your Velvet Red?

WoooooHOOOOO. I called ASKMINI today and I am at status 150 and I have a vin#! 74446

So it looks like I'm a bit behind Cooper4us, but I'm still slated to be built by 9/5. Maybe their doing non-nav CR/W first??? I can't remember if you have nav Cooper4Us.

Hey, on the topic of the rude person at ASKMINI. I've talked to all helpful and nice people, maybe just a bad seed??? Actually the guy I spoke with today asked if I was getting excited and told me how he thought it was so cool that we can call to check on status. hmmm...

Now, the wait REALLY begins!

Don't think I didn't see that thread ya put in here , fuzzy face! Just for that, I'm sendin back that terrific GB organizer that ya just got yesterday. Note to new owners: this is a really well made item. I luv the way he cut the mini logo into the side of it. Really cool. Now, if our danged car would just get here so we (oops) I mean "I" could use it.

I also took eight semesters of Wood Shop so I'm thinking of making a really nice Oak or Pine custom dash.

sbgobig: I really like the MINI rubber mats; they stay in place like duct tape, fit great, and look great. They are of much higher quality than the MINI carpet mats (which are suprisingly flimsy), although it's reflected in their price.

^A custom wood dash, woah! That would be cool. One thing I'd do as a precursor is to find the part number for the european OEM faux wood trim.

OK, this is getting bad. I've wanted a Mini ever since I saw one in England a few years ago. This was a test car that had all the spy garb on it so the car magazines couldn't get a scoop on what the car would look like. Regardless, I could tell this was the car for me. Then Mini made its way to the states, but I've been stuck in a lease on a Corolla, and the wife wasn't too keen on spending the $$$ to get out of the lease and into a Mini. So I basically got into the mindset that I just had to wait, and things were ok. I got on the wait list early this year, and my number came up sooner than expected. Due to the timing of the lease (last payment is December), I held off on going into the dealer to order, and just stayed at the top of the list. This is when the kinks in the armor started to surface. The wife saw the transformation where I was becoming obsessed, so she agreed to place the order in July, as there would only be 1 or 2 payment overlaps. She even gave in on the S, as she can't drive a manual tranny. But now that the car is on order I can't stand the wait anymore! And to top it off, there's a BRG Cooper sitting in the lot at work every day, and I have to walk past it every day to get to the Corolla! Well at least I've seen some progress now. I called the ASKMINI number and I'm scheduled for production rather than the endless ON ORDER that's been staring at me in the Owner's Lounge for what seems like months now, but the 9/19 date seems to be chiseled in granite after falling from 9/12. My common sense keeps telling me that the date is fine financially, but the urge to Motor easily overpowers the common sense!

Hi Ryan and all you waiters-in-the-wings. Ryan, you are doing a great job here. I am a newbie. Saw you mention lack of black mini orders, so here goes. Not sure of the sequence:

MC, jet blk/wht roof, blk leatherette sport seats, grey interior, antracite trim-dash, 15" 8-spoke wh, prem combo, chrome bumper inserts & license frame, front fogs.

Order went in through Mini of Timonium (Md) 7/19, have order #, projected make 9/12.

A few questions to you or co-waiters:

1. Want blk/wht checkerboard vinl cover for the sunroof. Tried all the advertiser links in here w/ no luck. Any suggestions?

2. Will get the bonnet stripes from dealer (since this is not an 'S'). Opinions on quality workmanship on this item from dealers or is this a do-it-YS item?

An excited hombre here! Hope no tickets hare in my future!!

Good luck and fun to all.

John

Senor Cosquilla:

Have you tried Cooperflags.com? They have the vinyl checkboard flag decals for MINIs equipped with sunroofs.

Give them a try.

By the way, Bienvenido a la fiesta!!

According to ASKMINI, I have been Scheduled For Production since 8/19. I have a week 37 build and they promised it'd be built by 9/12 (maybe a little sooner).

All I can say is "Go away Summer, I want the Fall!"

Thanks. Went there (been there before) but examined the site carefully this time. For $149 I can get a blk-wht filmed cover for the sunroof.

Gracias, and enjoy the holiday!
