I'm 105 miles from Motor City Mini but was told that they will be in a new showroom a few miles closer in September.

wow, three people from Michigan (me, jkd, and markcmini), this is cool (I was the only in MI with The April Club)!

--->Welcome FuzzyFace, glad you joined us  I'm guessing you have silver wheels in your order, since you didn't mention white As for the Invisishield, it goes on over the stripes.

woah, Chris, lucky you starting production soon!

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey, I'm from MI too! Although I always make the distinction as being the West side. One nice thing about being on the E Coast is getting your Mini quicker.

>>Hi there, this is my first post. I ordered my MINI Cooper S at the end of June from Momentum MINI in Houston, TX. A few days ago, my status went to "Scheduled for Production," and est. production date is 9/5/03. Very exciting.
>>
>>Anyway, I called 866-askmini tonight and the automatic voice system said I'm scheduled for production with an est completion date of 8/22/03...as in FOUR DAYS AGO???
>>
>>Which is correct?
>>
>>Jonathan

That automated voice system is useless for me as well. I have an estimated production date of 9/5/03, and the voice system told me the exact same thing - scheduled for production with an estimated completion date of 8/22/03.

I then spoke to customer service. The first guy on the phone said, what's 150? what does that mean? (I knew my car went to status 150 on 8/22 because..... well, I check everyday :smile. He also gave me a lecture about using the automated system and not bothering customer service. I was quite offended.
I called back and the second person immediately told me my car turned status 150 on 8/22, and is still scheduled to be completed on 9/5. And she thanked me for bringing to their attention the problem with the automated voice system.

So don't worry, the automated voice system is not working correctly.

>>Those of you that have vin #'s, what is your status #?

My car is in Status 150. I think the VIN gets assigned right around the time when you go status 150. My estimated production date is 9/5.

My VIN ends in TD74337. Once everyone gets your VIN we can all compare how far apart our cars are. Anyone with a lower VIN than mine!?

Dose the dealer do anything during this period to keep us busy??
I have heard that some dealer has the so-call: "make waiting fun" program.
I have not gotten anything yet.
But it will be a good idea if the dealer has some type of activities for the waiting owners to make their life easier and also it is a good way to promote themselves.

Come on dealers, I'm 23, just got out of school. I can think of these, why not them??
MINI dealer can do much better than that, isn't it????

Things are now in the fast lane. Not only have my VIN, but also my all-important MINI mug! MINI says production started and 9/5 completion.

How do you access the automated phone system? I did not hear this option in the menu when calling 1-866-ask-mini after hours.....any clue?

Huh? I think the real question is how you DIDN'T get the automated system. All you have to say is "get production status" and then say your production number. This dude seems pretty upbeat everytime I ask him.

I'm confused about this automatic message system.

:???:

I only want my car and the days seem to be getting longer as the date grows closer.

I've called and did not get an automated system. The real live person told me my status and mentioned an automated system should be up and running for the next MINI we buy. He must be a salesperson at heart because I didn't mention anything about buying another one.

call 1-866-ask-mini

you will be greeted by an automated answering system the is able to take voice commands. listen to the menu and simply say what you want or where you want to go. Say "speak to an advisor" or "check production status" etc... It is pretty cool or cheesey depending on you attitude.

I am SFP according to 866-ask-mini but still on-order in owner's lounge.

I found something to do to keep busy waiting. I ordered the Zaino Bros' Total Protection Show Car Kit from http://www.zainobros.com. I am going to wash and wax the ***** out of my wife's car to practice my technique for the real thing and my mom's too cuz I got her to pay for it by promising to do her car too. Sweet!

sbgobig - the conincidence is uncanny! I recently ordered the Zaino kit, and am practicing on my brothers Neon (it's black, the ultimate acid-test). So far I LOVE THIS STUFF. No Neon has a right to look that good!
secret production status info annoy the crap out of your MA, here's why: Everyday they get a big stack of papers from MINIUSA and MINIUK showing all their orders' production status'. As of yesterday, I was Status 111, which means I have a long ways to go

Time it takes to build a MINI: a few days from 150 to 155. The paint booth alone takes 8 hours per MINI!
Cheers,
Ryan

Welcome to The October Club Janie! I see that you must be at Status 150 since you have a VIN #, so congrats on that. Tell us a bit more about your Cooper. (colors and options and stuff) If you want I can add you to the webpage, and you can see your MINI live in color

Cheers,
Ryan
