Explain to me how it works, i have a production date (est.) of 9/26... someone tell me what that means for my baby? Does she get started on the 26th, or is she finished then? and what happens to her then?

Just ordered my MINI Saturday. :smile: Dealer claims delivery will be early November. Is that the usual? My wife will be driving me nuts until it comes in.

Status update for me. I am at 150, production started. Woo Hoo!

 

'04 MC Indi Blue, White top,wheels & bonnet stripes. HK stereo,cd changer,black panther leatherette w/ anthracite. sport seats, cool bag, MINI luggage,auto ac. This will be my wifes car. My vehicle is a 2003 chevy 3500 Quad Cab long bed Dually Duramax diesel. Quite a contrast huh? I can always put hers in the back of mine

 

sounds great. im jealous of the stripes, i want to get them on mine!

i think i just might after i get it...

I talked to a human on the MINI hotline, and they confirmed that I am status 152 - In the Paint Shop.

I'm getting a Cooper, Chili Red with Black Roof. The last 7 digits are TC48810. The guy on the phone said he saw no reason that the 9/5 date would not be met.

So now I'm just hoping that my machine will make it onto the Sept 6 boat from Southampton to NYC. I ordered from Sterling MINI in Virginia, so I'm not sure if that is even the right destination.

Getting very excited now!

Called MINIUSA for a status update. My Cooper S is at '152 - Paint Shop' and should be completed by the end of the week (9/5 production date).
I'm crossing my fingers that it will make the September 8th ship bound for California.

sdanaher: I think some folks a few pages ago explained it better but your production date should be the date it finished. I have a production date of 9/12 and they started building it yesterday, 9/1 (per my phone call to MINIUSA today).

Ryan: I guess I can be added to the "in progress" list. I'm at status 150 with the production date still set for 9/12. For some reason they didn't have a VIN# for me yet.

 

Hey Par_Shooter, I'm in the 9/12 group too. I spoke with MINIUSA on Friday and they didn't give me a VIN either. He assured me my MINI'd be built by 9/12. I guess they're ahead of schedule. It's gonna feel weird after all this obsessive waiting to actually have a new coolass car to drive.

I hope it lives up to the hype.

My MO just called me 45 min. ago,he received my JCW kit today,so we are just waiting for the car,he'll call me when it arrives to make sure everything is in order,and to do all the paperwork,but won't be able to pick the car up until next day or so,'cause the mechanics will be installing the kit,plus the aux gages. .....ALMOST THERE....May be by the first week of OCT.

I'd say the most probable ship is the Jingu Maru for all those who have a prod. date of 9/5. It sets sail for New York on the 11th and arrives on the 20th. I just drove to Newark Int'l Airport today and saw one of their ships just off the expressway. I can't figure out which one it was. I'm thinking of driving down Jersey City that day to see it come in. Anyone wanna join?
