The closest dealer is 70 miles away and about a 2.5 hour drive.

I try not to think about that too much cuz it should be a deal breaker. I just hope they can service my car without having to keep it overnight, is this most likely the case?

I wish I could take it to the local BMW dealer for service.

I am also buying my car out of state so I hope I can still develop a good relationship with the closest dealer.

I can't believe this. My dealer is about 10 mins from my house. Makes it easy to go get things done.

jmusicman-

checkout the CWFOC configurator too see my ride. It is identical to yours except for no DSC or Rain Sensing Wipers, I'm going DS/B with the Cordoba. I hope I like it when I get it and it dosen't look like a train wreck.

The closest dealer to me is about 3 miles. However, due to numerous bad experiences with them (took me a while to learn; they are just too convenient) there is no way I am going to buy my next car from them. The other dealer in town is about 30 miles away. They received favorable reviews on this board and elsewhere, so I decided to order my car there. They were fair and honest; it was a much better experience than dealing with the dealer closer to me.

Unfortunately, 217 stinking miles each way!!!! :???: It's a 7 hour round trip every time!!! I am REALLY hoping that my MINI doesn't require anything more then the routine service!!! Kansas City is a pretty nice place to spend the day, but I don't want to overdo it!

sbgobig,

I don't think it's possible to make a dark silver S a train wreck. I opted for the blue leather as a reminder of my other cars (all my previous cars have been blue).

Reid.

Thanks, your car will look awesome, ds/w was the first combo i fell in love with. My wife liked the ds/b because it was a little more sublte. So who am I to argue...sign me up, I'll take it.

I'm 42 miles from my dealer, but they're moving, so I think it'll be more.

I dont know the mileage yet, but it's about 45 minutes  , from my house at least, from college, about 3 hours :???: .

I'll probably find out exact mileage if I have the chance to go back home and pick it up.

Hi all. My dealer is about 2 1/2 hours away. There are dealers within 15 miles of me but with a much longer wait time.

Cooper4us- You're still at status 112? I thought you had your vin#?
I just got off the phone with ASKMINI. I'm still 112 but they said my build should be completed by 9/5/03! I would think we would be close on the line since we're both CR and we both have 9/5 dates.

Those of you that have vin #'s, what is your status #?

~~Still waiting to motor!

Allow me to now grace the CWFOC with my much-anticipated presence (not).

I am an original member of the November club, but I'm "scheduled for production" whatever that means. estimated build date 9/26 which means <gasp!> dare I suggest that Sona may arrive by late October? Anyway, it can't hurt to be a member of TWO clubs, can it? You will all just have to wait on the edge of your seats to see which club will actually be blessed with my full card-carrying membership!

My nearest dealer is about 120 miles one way, but the dealer I ordered from is about 180 miles one way (30 miles south of Green Bay WI to the dealer in Chicago suburb of Schaumburg).

Hi there, this is my first post. I ordered my MINI Cooper S at the end of June from Momentum MINI in Houston, TX. A few days ago, my status went to "Scheduled for Production," and est. production date is 9/5/03. Very exciting.

Anyway, I called 866-askmini tonight and the automatic voice system said I'm scheduled for production with an est completion date of 8/22/03...as in FOUR DAYS AGO???

Which is correct?

Jonathan

The anthracite closely matches the dark silver color I think... its gonna be a killer combo!!

(some big variances on dealership distances, but seems most are within 100 miles, except Tim, he gets the long distance award right now!)

Jonathan, welcome. I talked to a real live person at ASK MINI, they can tell you what's actually going on. Give them a call again tomorrow 9a-9p EST. In any case, sounds like you'll be getting your MINI quite soon! Tell us a bit more about your MCS, like this:

The standard format for newbies: Model (Cooper or S), Colors (main and top and wheels), Upholstery and Trim, Packages (like premium, sport, or cold), Options (like H/K, NAV), and Accessories (like aero kit, driving lights, roof flag)

Taa taa for now,
Ryan

If you guys haven't already read 'em, check out the One Week Later and One Month Later Assessments from The April Club Graduates page

Some very insightful stuff, good reading material, and great tips on what to expect in your upcoming MINI.

Goodnight,
