I used the search function but could not find an answer to my question. My VIN is TD 74999. Does that mean that my Mini will be the 74,999 Mini built? Does that mean that if someone has a 74950 with a build date 9/19 (like me), that their Mini will be built first? Thanks.

The automated "vehicle production status" tracking system at 866 ASK MINI has a bug in it. The estimated completion date it gives you was the day your production started. I have already told them that; apparently they are incapable of fixing it.

On another note, it looks like TOSCA is behind schedule. It was supposed to set sail on 9/6, but it appears that it has not arrived at Southampton yet. They have updated their schedule to a 9/7 departure, but still 9/16 arrival. My car still shows "received at terminal". rrypma, you mentioned that your car is already on TOSCA. Could you tell me if the wlna website actually tells you that your car is loaded onto TOSCA or not?

After I read your post about the owners lounge updating I immediately went to my desktop and got on (I have a shortcut on my desktop to the mini usa site, I'm that bad). My vin is TD75195! And I was gonna call 866 askmini on monday. Wooooooooooohoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally scheduled for production, from what you guys say it's probably already on the line. I'm gonna go check that boat site right now.

I checked for your VIN on JINGU MARU based on MINISPIDER's booking info (the booking number provided there covers 100+ cars) and unfortunately your car is not booked on the JINGU MARU.......

Could everyone else who has their car booked post the "booking number" so that we can try to find Cooper4us's car!?
Is anyone booked on AIDA? How about Hual Triton?

 

Just went to the boat site and I typed in just the td... part first and got nothing, then I did the whole thing and it didnt work either, so I guess that means that they have no info about my MINI yet which probably means that it hasnt been built yet, or I did something wrong. I'm still gonna call on monday I guess.

ok nevermind, whatever. Uh how long did it take you guys to memorize your WHOLE vin, I memorized it after 1 look, I have a good memory, but not usually this freakishly good, I guess I'm just sick and MINI Mad! Muhahahahahahahahadfhadfkasdfasldfjak!

 

Hi Bk_MCS,

I think it is still too early for you to see your info on the boat tracking site.
Mine didn't show up until the car was "ready to scan" at the terminal.

Since you have your VIN, you should be in status 150 - production started.
Sometime during the next week, you will go through body shop, paint shop, and eventually get to production completed. I think your best bet is to call 866-ASK-MINI everyday next week, maybe twice a day, and speak to a live person. (The automated system doesn't work) They can tell you which stage your car is at. Once your car is completed, then you can hopefully see it on the wlna shipping tracking site.

 

In trying to satisfy the MINI madness I went back to the owners lounge and read through "the list", the one on the left that talks about the steps your MINI goes through and noticed that in the part about "en route" (why do they use a french term, they should be using german, or more appropriately british terms), anyways it says how your MINI is having fun with all it's brothers... since when were all MINIs male, that's sexist! I would consider mine to be female, something to be taken car of and babied, ok, maybe that would be considered sexist in that not all women want to be babied and such, but mine do!

 

Hey, Cooper4us, maybe your new MCS has the stumble issue and MINI pulled it, because they knew what a disaster it would be if their loyal customer and staunch defender ended up with a crappy-running MCS.

Seriously, Cooper4us, good luck in getting your MCS soon, and I do hope it's perfect. It's lousy having this stumble issue. My MCS sailed on the TOSCA back in April, and I had lower VINs ahead of my car, but in the end, my ship sailed.

Ok, so it's 4:33 am over here on the east coast and I called the number, but it didnt say anything about do you wana know where your car is or anything like that. Maybe I should try again.

The car is going to Lauderdale MINI in Ft Lauderdale, FL so the final port of call will be Charleston, SC. I was hoping the car would either be booked in the Aida or Jingu Maru, but not such luck. Maybe I got pushed back to the Hual Triton???

Anyway, like my dear friend Jstines says, I hope my MCS is getting a double dose of Quality Control

 

For those of you with BOOKING NUMBERS already assigned and whose final port of call is Charleston, SC., please post them here. Also tell us which vessel will your car be travelling on (I am interested in the AIDA and HUAL TRITON mostly).

I just checked all 116 cars currently booked on the JINGU MARU but my car is not booked there, yet. I also see very few cars received during 9/5 and 9/6 (8 cars total) so I suspect this ship is not up to full capacity yet and probably still awaiting more '04 cars completed at the end of the past week. There is still hope that my car will make it in the Jingu Maru between tomorrow and Thursday 9/11, at the leatest, when the vessel is supposed to set sail towards the Atlantic.

According to the WW site, the Jingu Maru will make the Atlantic voyage towards Charleston in 12 days, arriving 9/22/03.

This is getting real good!

I luuuuvv knowing my vin How many of us 9/19 have vins by now? Ryan's going to have his work cut out for him when he gets back , just updating all our #'s. "hold da boat, hold da boat , i'm coming " .Can't ya hear our mini's now!

 

I was epd 9/19 and I checked the owners lounge per these posts and my vin was there, as I said above, but will post again for simplicity's sake, TD75195.

I'm thinking it'll go into "the line" within a week, and I hear it takes about a week to finish, so that puts me on the TANABATA, which oddly enough arrives 1 day before the HUAL TRITON which leaves 3 days before the TANABATA, I guess that's because it hits Charleston before Brunswick. The TANABATA is set to arrive in Charleston on the 2nd.

Does anyone have an estimate on how long it takes once your MINI to get to you once it hits the docks, if everything goes smoothly that is.

 

OMG, I have to post this here before I forget,

I'm watching this NOPI Tunervision on the new spike tv and they're showing a car show and peoples cars. This guy and his kid took a 79 Mini Cooper, put a B16 Vtec in the back with what looked like a supertrapp center exit exhaust, made it rear wheel drive, slapped the ugliest biggest rims on it, painted it a lime green base with purple and blue etc... graphics, body kit, oh, and it has a honda steering wheel. Not even a Mini anymore, it's RICE. Then the lady goes on to talk about this XBOX Hummer (not the new H2) and she calls it an H1. The original real hummer that actually had a purpose isnt called an H1 is it?
