OUCH!!!

Seeing all the enthusiam of fellow CWFOers seeing their Minis progress, I decided to go check to see if I'm so fortunate. No dice, and the Production date slipped to 9/19.

 

Luckily my production date has not slipped at all (still 9/12) but I thought all the options would have been listed by now. The color and interior options (anthracite and space) are listed, but nothing about HK, or Sport Pack, etc. So, does this not get listed until it goes to 111 status?? After all this waiting I would hate to find out the order was not correct.

I was also going to whine about having people post about getting to 111 status and I haven't made it yet, but then read the post about cooper-ferret having to cancel his order How sad!!!! Waiting a few more weeks is a MINI-hardship in comparison.

The reason my MA hasnt given me a production number is because my parents told him not to. They didnt want me to know when it was gonna be here. Of course I know better than them and I emailed the guy last night and asked for it. He got it and sent it this morning in the email and some lady called this morning aswell.

So I went online today and found that my ESTIMATED production date is 9/19. This seems to be the default date until it is confirmed for build.

I also noticed that I have none of my options listed as TiMINITim has said, just the exterior color and interior space gray/pnthr blk clt. I guess it comes later correct?

Oh well, just happy to have my number, one step closer to touching it.

I'm at 11 status and my options are not listed in the Owner's Lounge either. I'm not sure if that site ever really catches up to reality?

 

I guess they just dont put them in until the last minute since so many are experiencing this. I've heard that it is really slow in updating and that the ASK MINI phone number is better.

 

Finally Friday!!!!!! It looks like the CWFO thread is a little light.....but that may be because so many members are in the dark!!! (couldn't resist!!)

So, I have been trying to come up with a few good license plates and thought I would see if anyone has any opinions. I am assuming there is nobody else in AR so my selections would be safe to share without someone stealing it out from under me (if it's not already gone). So, these are the best three I have so far:

1) S WORKS (not very novel, but cool to have it)
2) MYGOCART (truely shows my and the cars spirit)
3) HOTCHILI (since I am getting the CR/W/W)

So, let me know what you think or if you have any other good ideas!

Production status freak out: Don't worry about your options being listed wrong on MINIUSA's website - they won't be right until you've hit 112-ish. I suppose I could list the Production status numbers:

How do you know which status code you are currently at?

 

ok, there are three ways I know of:
1) call your MA (motoring advisor) and ask; they get daily digests of all their ordered MINI's and their production status'
2) call 1-866-ASK-MINI with your production number in-hand. They can help give you your production status number
3) log onto miniusa.com and sign up in the owners lounge, it will give you very general information, with few updates.

Hi everyone!

Okay, I've read everyone's posts and I'm still a bit unclear about my MCS status. In the "owners lounge" my status simply shows "on order" with an estimated production date of 9/5/03. I have a print out from my dealer that says "status: on order" but it also says "status code: 112 - order scheduled for production". So, which is it and should I be worried that none of my options are listed in the owner's lounge? I think the wait may do me in. I just want my MINI!

So, I guess I'm legal to be in here as my dealer said we should have our MCS by Oct 15th at the latest, hopefully sooner!!

oOh, I finally got my production number a few days ago!
The problem is, miniusa.com won't let me register a 2nd MINI under my registered name how annoying.

 

Hey Ryan, great pictures!!!!!!! The IB is a really nice color and it was the only other color I was considering other then CR. But, I have a black car now and I am tired of working on a dark car fow a while!

Well, it was a sad weekend. I went by my neighbor's.................well, ok I went by my neighbor's driveway to see their car and thier MINI somehow got mashed up on the drivers side lower rocker panel right under the door. I haven't figures out what happened yet, but it is painful looking!!

Other then that.....no new updates on my MINI production and didn't get any more driving time (I got spoiled that last two weekends!) But, another week down and only about 8 to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I'm part of the "Can't wait for October" club, I ordered a Chili Red/white roof/Union Jack CVT MINI with HK system, cold weather pkg, fog lights, on Aug. 11 and was told by the dealer that it would be in by October. I haven't received a tracking number or anything yet, how long does that ordinarily take? And yes, my Motoring Advisor told me it would be a 2004 model.

I'm having second thoughts about the chrome mirrors but I still want to get the chrome grill inserts and the side skirts from the aero kit. Here in lies my problem. I like the side skirts and the back apron from the aero kit but not the front. I want the chrome grill not the black that comes with the aero kit. Any thoughts???

I was thinking of just painting the front air dam (the black plastic parts) to match the body color and then getting the aero rear apron but not sure if the lines of the car would then look wrong. I really need to go to a dealer and look at an aero and non aero side by side to compare.

I will most likely get the chrome mirror caps and the front chrome grille for my '04 Chili Red/White MCS. I am still over the fence about the dealer installed rear fog lights as the hourly labor rate in my dealership is $95 and installing the rear fogs appears to be a 2 to 3 hour job but they are not completely sure about that yet. I am trying to negotiate the labor costs as this is the second MINI we buy from them in less than 1 year.

By the way, if you want the rear fog lights to be factory installed, you have to wait for a December 2003 build. Before December, the rear fog kit is dealer installed only.

I'm glad to be a member of the "I Can't Wait for October Club," though I wish it were September! The build date for my BRG w/black roof MCS is 9/5. It's been a looong time since forking over my deposit in May!

Ryan, please add me to the registry. Options are:all three packages, 'ette interior w/alloy trim, 17" s-lites with performance tires and JCW. I'm ready to rock & roll, just need the car!

well, my production # (not that it really matters) is 3871748. In the miniusa.com OL, it shows my color and interior, but none of my options...yet. No need to freak out just yet as it's still early in the whole process. Remember that miniusa's OL is about as un-updated and ill-detailed as it gets! I'll just make a call to my friendly MA and double check that he ordered my MINI to spec.

..oh, and I updated the CWFOC webpage to include some of the new members

Thanks for adding me to "The Registry" Ryan! Now I have a picture of my car that I can stare at! I've moved to status 112. This last month is gonna be the hardest!

 

Today was a great day!!!!!!!!! :smile: :smile: First, I called ASK-MINI and confirmed that my order is status 111 and that all my options are properly ordered. The dealre confirmation is nice, but it is also good to confirm this further up the chain!!!!

The the really great news......the JCW demo car is oficially ready at the dealer and I am taking my third, 400 mile round trip up to KC!!! My MA assured me it would be ready to drive first thing Saturday morning I am REALLY excited now!!!! Another MINI fix and a chance to experience the JCW first hand!!!! I have no idea if they have broken in this demo car or not, hopefully so. I will be sure to let everyone know what it's like!
