My MCS arrived last week to Tom Bush Mini in Jacksonville. Since I live out of state, my brother who lives locally, picked it up for me today and is now residing in comfort in his garage. I will fly out this Friday and start my journey home on Sunday morning. I am very pleased with the color combo since it was not available on the S untill I placed my deposit. I will post photos and a brief review on my road trip back along with my seat of the pants impressions after I return home. Until then, hang in there folks, I understand it's worth the wait !!

Hope Tom Bush was good for you like it was for me, have fun driving it home, and it does sound like a very interesting combo for the S, would like to see it. You've got a lucky brother.

My MA Amy was wonderful. Car arrived exactly as ordered, when she said it would, and sold as promised at MSRP with no surprises. And they beat my 3.99% 60 month loan to boot! Brother said car was spotless on delivery and was in the showroom all weekend. Amy said she could have sold the car 10 times since it arrived! It was the First Pepper White MCS to arrive at the dealership. I will post photos and such after I return home in a couple of weeks.

Now that pisses me off! Your car got to sit in the showroom whilst mine sat outside in the rain the whole time it was at the dealer. I've seen them with customer cars in the showroom waiting for pickup before, and where they usually sit there was no car, so why couldnt they have put mine inside for a few days. At least they coulda done a better job washing and waxing it! Grrrrrrrrrrrr, now I'm mad. Discriminated against because mine wasnt the first PW/B MCS at the dealer, well they never have any all EBs, that's how we picked the color, they had one in the showroom back in march.al;dfjasd;fhaos;dhfa;sodhfoafg!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan,

You seem pretty down on MotorCity Mini Service Dept. However, I need a few things taken care of so I am wondering if I should still take it there or maybe bite the bullet and go back to Cleveland where I purchased it.

-My passenger side H/K speaker is vibrating and muffled. I think it is broken and needs to be replaced.

-My car tracks to the right and needs to be adjusted.

-I want the hand brake/door unlock feature installled.

-And eventually the software upgrade. I think I felt the bog once already.

Otherwise, the car is great. I will write up an 1 week review when the time comes. Still waiting for good weather to add on my accessories.

Also, I wish I had test driven it when I picked it up so I could have maybe found my problems. I was just too excited light a little boy and puppy.

Mike

I think one of the downsides for Mini's on order is that when the car arrives at dealerships, the customer is called and wants to pick up car the same day! Fully understand. This leads to a "quicky" prep job at the dealership. My MCS sat at dealership 7 days before delivery. Could not pick-up until then. I avoided the Roadblock clear bra (Got them down to $395, way too much for a piece of urethane) after seeing your peeling Roadblock photo. Did you insist on them repairing it?

Yeah, my dad got them to fix it. It's good stuff, they just didnt do a good job applying it in some places which has been fixed. My MINI arrived on a thursday and didnt get picked up till saturday morning, they should have had plenty of time to do their stuff good. It's still a damn good car though, regardless of their efforts to screw it up, lol.

Just curious if your roadblock kit included areas of the doors as well? The product my dealer is quoting me is $895 installed for what sounds like more coverage than I need. Bonnet, bumpers, doors are all part of this package. Supposedly the door strip runs along the edge and protects if you open into something.

One week and 325 miles and all is well.

MINI Report:

I just went over 1250 miles this afternoon! Hey, I can go over 95 miles an hour now!

I picked The RED One up on October 10, so I've only had it 18 days. I have been extremely happy with every aspect of the car.

At one time this summer, when I kept reading on MCO of all the problems people were having with their MINIs, I actually considered canceling my order. That would have been a big mistake!

I have had no troubles at all. No stumble, yo-yo, bog, yips or anything like that. The windshield seems to be holding up very well. No rattles. Right now I can't remember all the things I was worried about!

We have been motoring in the country on the weekends and enjoying every minute of it.

I can't get over the number of waves, thumbs up and conversations that my MINI causes.

Never been happier!

Had a chance to change out my wheels/tires, install my Ferodo 2500 pads, and clear CHMSL. Weather was crappy, so it was tough getting a rain-free pic. I'm pleased to announce, zero stumble , and the car feels more powerful than I recall MM1 when the engine was stock. I tried to hold within the break-in guidelines, but oopied past 4500RPM a few times, and accidentally floored it once

Motor-on!
Ryan

ok... nice to see everyone's new baby!!
I have been gone for a while now, and the Mad Chris is back!!!

My MINI 3 weeks report.
I think i might got the good luck and the bad luck.

Good luck is that my car has been great and came ontime for me to picke up and went to my trip to SC and a lot of great pics.

Bad Luck, it was raining pretty hard 2 days ago. I shut all my windows!! i mean it! I got into the car early in the morning and there are water came from the rain sensor area and fall on top of the dash board.
It sucks!! My first F to the MINI quality.

Second, I have never notice the lights condition. Today i was follow one of the "just Waxed" SUV and got a clear look at myself from his big shining big *** back hatch. i found out that one of my signal light on the bumper is not working!!
My second F to the MINI quality.

Second gear all the way to 3200 or more the car starts go yo-yo! I'm not sure it is a real yo-yo, but i feel the car has fuel injection problem or some sort of thing and it make it not accelerating smooth. it only happen in second gear.

H/K still has not speed function, dont know anyone reply my last post or not, but it just freaks me out.

Am i getting a Bad MINI in a Bad way??? or it just all the worst thing happened all at once???

Help!!!!
I haven't got time to go to the dealer, called and left message and no answer!!
We will see.

In regards to the roadblock question, it only covers the front bumper, part of the hood, and the side view mirrors. That was $450 installed. You can get them to do extra parts (like the guy who did at Tom Bush, he wanted it put on the roof too, or my neighbors Lexus SC430 who has it all over) but it'll cost more.

Yeah for Ryan, looks nice.

Chris, sounds like all of that can be fixed in a snap, but not sure about your "yo-yo" if that's what it is.

I hate being away from my MINI.

Welp, add me to the "Taken Delivery" group (as of yesterday, 10/28 @ 4 PM EST).

This car is...

- Good Lord, I don't know how to put it into words but I want to leave work and cancel my weekend trip out of town (flying, *ICK*... now driving, YEE-HAW!) just so I can spend more time in it.

- Though I currently have a 1 mile / 5 minute commute to work, I feel myself longing the horrendous commute I used to have (1 hour & 15 minutes / 35+ miles one way in heavy traffic) just so I could spend more time in my MINI.

- Considering my 2 mile round-trip commute, it will take me 625 days of work to get through the break-in period. Good gravy that is a horrible thought! Time to plan some weekend road-trips.

... apparently "this car is" an obsession that you all must experience, and SOON.

Speedy delivery wishes to all of those still waiting. And, as said before, it is sooo wonderfully worth the wait.

BullyBob

PS- Pictures will follow soon.

After an Alta intake was put on my car, I could actually hear the intake noise pulsing as the car is yo-yoing. Therefore I am almost certain the throttle plate is moving. If it is fuel injection related, I probably shouldn't hear the intake noise change......... There is nothing we could do about it though; it is all up to MINI to fix this.

Your H/K has the speed compensation function; it is just not adjustable. Do a search on MCO or mini2 if you don't believe me. Now calm down, smile, and go enjoy your car!

Ugh!!!

I guess it's time for Mini to start screwing with me again. I had an EDD in the OL of 11/1, so I resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be getting the car this week. Yesterday we call the dealer and they are clueless as to when the car will be here. Then this morning I check the OL and the EDD is now 10/31! Why do they do this to me?! Now sbgobig's DS/B Mini pictures are just salt in the wound. What a beautiful car!
