From Tom for one of my issues. Let me know if it works.
Not that I'm aware of, we're using a 3G iPhone with 2.1 at the present moment.
I love this forum!
ok, I've already e-mail Dension about my issue, but have a feeling it can be solved faster here...
I bought the ICELINK+ probably about 2 years ago. It's revision 2.10a. I had it connected to my 4th Gen iPod Classic, and was able to use my clickwheel with the iPod UI setting.
Well, I bought an iPod Touch. Now when it's connected, I get the "Accesory Connected" message, and can't get past it... I have to unplug it, to be able to scroll through artists... When I get to the artist I want, I push play, and then plug it back in. I'm also wanting it to allow my wife to watch videos while connected, but we get the same message. Please help.
Thanks!

Last US supported release was 2BB2.
Dension hasn't been in the US since 2005. Can you check your module to be sure?
Just to let you know. I downloaded the 2.07 update (I'll progress up to the 2.18 ASAP), and then connected my sisters iPod with clickwheel. As soon as I hit disk 6, it took me to the user screen where I could select "iPod UI." After I selected it, it told me to disconnect the iPod, then re-connect. Well, I disconnected it, then reconnected my iPod Touch. Now I have full control through my iPod! It's working how I want it too, now. Hopefully this'll help someone else. Thanks!
For those freaking annoyed by the "Accesory Attached" screen
, here's how I over came it with my 1st gen iPod Touch (latest software version of 2.1).
Firmware can be found at http://www.dension.com/dension_apple_matrix.html
1. Erase all songs on your iPod/iPhone (you're only going to want the firmware on your iPod/iPhone.
2. You're going to want to download the firmware in steps (2.07, then 2.15, then 2.18 if you choose to go that far) I currently have 2.07. Also, only download one version at a time.
3. After all songs are gone, upload version 2.07 to you iPod.
4. Go out to your car, flip over to your Dension mode (hit the mode button on your head unit till you see CD-1)
5. Open up your music and you'll see your "update" file.
6. Open that up and select the first track.
7. As soon as it starts playing connect your iPod/iPhone to the Dension cable.
8. It'll start scrolling through all the tracks (approx. 750)
9.It'll also start flashing between "Accessory Attached" and you being able to see the files play.
10. Walk away from the car
Give it about 10-15 minutes. It'll stop scrolling and if I remember correctly, still display "Accessory Attached"
11. Connect an older scroll wheel iPod to the Dension (I had to use my sister's as my 4th gen Classic just took a crap...
)
12. Hit disc 6 on the head unit
13. Now look at the iPod, you should see a list of options.
14. Use your steering wheel controls to (the ones on the left) select up or down. Hold the button (like you're fast forwarding) to select that option. Basically, you're looking for the "iPod UI" option. Again, scroll to it (it should be highlighted, then press and hold your "next track" button (head unit or steering wheel).
15. It'll tell you to disconnect the iPod, then reconnect it. Only disconnect it.
16.Connect your new iPod/iPhone
That should solve your issues.
This only take maybe 30 minutes total. Seems like a lot, but it's not. If you're having any more issues, let me know. I'll try and help you out the best that I can. Good Luck!

Am I reading the compatible list correctly and that the R56 model is not supported?
I have an '07 MCS with the Boost radio. I really want the iPod integration, but will never give in to $500 parts/install direct from Mini.
If it's correct and it will not work with my setup are there other options? For the most part I really only care for the charging and the change track function from my steering wheel.

Or just get a Belkin adapter that charges and plays your iPod over FM channels. You won't have control over your iPod with the steering wheel controls, but it's better than having to pull your iPod out at night to charge... just a suggestion.
Thanks for the input. I really like the AUX connection for it's clarity. I found the Kesington LiquidAUX should suffice. I already have a kuda mount though, so I might check to see how I can connect this mount properly onto it and make a custom setup using them both.

Ok, so here's my story. Up until yesterday I've been enjoying using my IceLink+ v2.01 (for those who are not sure if they have one, it's about the size of a finger and covered in black heatshrink... the Dice is a box). Suddenly, I get ALOT of problems from my MINI:
• no turn signal indicators
• tail lights wouldn't turn off
• no output from the radio
• no function from automatic system (i.e. i could turn up the fan on the A/C, but pushing auto would shut that off completely)
• Nav Display would not go past the initial MINI logo
I checked all the fuses (hoping to cut the power to something, cause it to reset and fix the entire situation), but replacing the blown fuse I found didn't fix anything. Then I remember the IceLink I had behind my parcel shelf, i had installed it using the HU wiring harness. Once I had removed that everything went back to normal. So it seems I'm in the market for a new iPod solution.
After reading this entire forum (yeah... wow...) I think I've narrowed down my options. I have a 2005 (04/05 build) MCS with the HK radio system (SN A0464450) and Navigation, so I'm looking at either the DICE RDS Universal Kit or the DICE Silverline and I have a few questions:
1. Does this seem like the wiring harness is ok?
2. I know the Silverline is officially not compatible with the OEM navigation system, but I've grown accustomed to using the iPod's interface (disabling the IceLink's override), so I would probably use the simple iPod interface (disabling the Silverline's Features... like it's ability to disable the Nav
). Is it compatible with the installed wiring harness or would I need to replace that?
3. Someone had reported a problem with Navigation Audio, but I've never had this problem. Do the DICE harnesses not pass all of the pins though to the MINI harness? What's the deal here?
4. I know the RDS isn't an FM transmitter, but does it still require tuning into a specific radio station?

Since you have the Plus, there's no reason to repurchase the wiring. Simply get the DICE module upgrade and plug it in - you're back in business:
DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Module Upgrade
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1638
In the position you're in - you'll end up spending more for the RDS kit and end up with less features.
So you're fairly certain that the ILP failure won't have damaged the harness? I also just wanted make sure that these two were compatible... you can look forward to my business as soon as I can scrape together the coin.
A continuity test will verify if the harness is damaged or not.
Silverline seems to be failing
I purchased and installed a Dice Silverline in dash model back around May for my '05 Cabrio S. I updated the radio to an '06 in order to get the Ipod text to display. Everything worked perfectly for about a month then the text stopped displaying. I read through this thread and decided I'd try undoing the battery for a night. This fixed the problem for a week until the issue came back. Tried some other reset suggestions in here but I could only get the display back for a week or so. I finally just resigned myself to not having the radio display as I am happy with the ability to use my Ipod intergrated into the controls. Now this week a new problem has started. My ipods are no longer being charged by the Silverline. One thought I had was the summer heat was causing the problem with the display but it's been cool lately so I can't think this has caused the charging failure. The unit is velcroed behind the A/C controls and toggles in the area under the head unit. I now have to charge them in the house in order to use them in the car. I have this same issue with my older Ipod and both my Ipod minis.
I am out of ideas. Anyone else have any or do I just have a bum unit?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Tom,
The only thing that's not factory is a Sirius receiver line out connected to the aux port on the Silverline. I'm able to select it and use it as the instructions indicate. This was added mid-summer after the display issues surfaced so I can't attribute it to the display failure.
Thanks for the reply!

Ok, so I've received my silverline and I have two problems:
1. A few times if I leave the iPod in the car long enough for it to turn off the display then start the car I get nothing but static. If I cycle through the modes back to CDC it works fine.
2. The dip switches are difficult to move from off to on... what am I supposed to use to manipulate these?
