Tooling across the Alabama Causway yesterday and saw no Mini's except 3 pickup truck drivers waved. Maybe they flipped me off and I didn't see it correctly. No, I think they actually waved.

 

I ALWAYS wave when I see MINIs... even in my Frontier (that gets some weird looks...)

 

I recently got my mini and I wave. I am getting about 50% returning my waves and that's okay I'm just happy to be out motoring!

 

I FINALLY got a wave back! I was stopped at a light downtown in my city and another MINI stopped right next to me. Since I was discouraged with no one waving, I figured, what the heck I'll try. So I throw up a wave and he waved back!! I tried to hide how excited I was and when he drove off I kind of did a little dance lol.

 

After a few weeks of seeing very few MINI's around I spotted a white clubman 4 cars ahead of me on a single lane road on my way home. I thought I wouldn't be able to catch up and wave but all of a sudden they pulled into a gas station. I conveniently took the other entrance so I could drive past them and they initiated the wave (and got a very enthusiastic wave back as well)!

Considering I just put my awesome silver stripes (on my BRG) and was the very first drive with them on, I'm attributing the other drivers initiating the wave due to the new added bling factor!

 

There are a few NEW MINI owners in my area. I wave and they just keep driving. HOW RUDE!!!! However, most of all MINI owners do "the wave".

 

The first day I drove my Mini to work, I passed a little Blue Mini with a white top. The driver flashed his lights and waved. I was distracted by the instrument panel and my hubby pointed the other driver out so I got a half wave back at him or her. Ive been watching for that car ever since so I can make up for my almost missing them but, have yet to see them. Other than that most of the Minis I pass seem to have drivers that are not aware of anyone outside their Mini and I don't get any acknowledgement. Oh well....I'll just keep trying to share the joy by waving like a nut....

 

I'm a little blue MINI with a white top! I was 0 for 3 today on getting waves back. We'll try again tomorrow.

 

I'm in WA state so I guess it wasn't you but...yep...we'll keep on trying. :0)

I will always wave to my fellow aMINIgos. If I don't, it's just because I'm still trying to figure out all the stuff on our new spice orange convertible (just got it last week).


So if you see a spice orange with sport stripes in western suburbs of Boston, zipping by, wave back!

got a wave on the way to work this morning from a little librarian type lady in a velvet silver Justacooper hardtop.

 

There are very few in my area, so when I see them I smile then WAVE to the other MINI. Very few if any wave at me:( Yesterday I was 0-2. I thought that waving was part of the BI-LAWS of owning such a fun car.

 

Honestly i give them the thumbs up even though i dont own one, but that may change..lol!

 

I got a wave today! I had to wave first of course but I got it. Maybe there is still hope.

 

I usually wave but was surprised when a MINI driver going in the opposite direction waved at me before I got my hand up.

 

It doesn't figure...I'm about 50%.
When I ride my Harley, 98% of other Harley riders wave back if not first.
Maybe one day Mini drivers will be like that.
I'm gonna keep on waving anyway.

 

I have been getting better returns on my wave as of late. Waved at 3 the past two weeks and got waves back.

 

Past month or so I've gotten 4/6 wave return rate. I'm relatively happy with that! Funny story on one of the two who did not wave back, I was stopped at a light and was attempting to get the other MINI to wave / their attention and a girl in the back seat of the car directly to my right thought I was a nice guy waving to her...yea...something like that! My girlfriend was laughing hysterically at the situation as I motored out of there!

Not sure if its the cold weather scaring those who don't wave (its Western New York, lots of MINI's I'm sure are stored away during the winter) or my stripes are the magical solution to waves. Guess we'll see once it gets warmer.

 

When I was riding (before I traded in two wheels for our MCSC) I waved all the time. Got very low wave-backs from cruisers but near 100% from sport/sport tourers.

I always wave too but haven't gotten a single wave-back yet. I wonder if it also has something to do with being seen (it's easier on a motorcycle).

 

Maybe it's a southern thing. People are abit more friendly down here in lower Alabama. There's not a lot of Minis in this particular area, kinda spotty.

 

Still don't see many Minis on my back road commute, but getting fewer and fewer wave backs...makes me sad....maybe they are just distracted, or something..sigh

 

I have not gotten a single wave back in Orlando yet...... I waved about 10 times. Actually i might have gotten one from one guy but his windows were on like 0% tint so i couldn't see.

 

I flash the v for victory, always have, always will. Those of us with blue mini's smile back, too!
