Do Mini people still wave at each other??
I usually evaluate the oncoming MINI and choose whether to wave or not.
Brightly colored MINI with checkered mirror caps, checkered roof and checkered rearview-wave, they're enthusiastic.
Sparkling Silver or Pepper White with nothing on it-don't wave unless waved to, they're strictly a commuter who's looking for good gas mileage.
Black with darkly tinted windows-are they waving? I can't tell. Should I wave? I don't know-I don't wanna invade their privacy. It seems like it's important to them.
JK, I'll probably be tinting my windows on my Chili Red. I love that look.

I actually just got like 4 waves a few days ago. I was leaving the DMV after registering my MCS, and some MC was honking at me. I'm like wth is going on?! I look over and the guy has a huge smile and is waving haha. Then literally within the next 20-30 minutes, I had 3 other MC(S)'s wave at me. It's like were all friends. I love it
I always wave. I liked the thumbs up when we got our 2004 but no one would do that so I switched to a little wave instead. I would hate to see that part of the culture die..so I'll keep at it even if no one else waves back.
It was really nice to be at the MOTD this year and have everyone waving. I especially liked the MINI that had the Micky Mouse gloves! Anything that makes you smile can't be all wrong.

Must be the return of the sun. I accosted the "yellow mini guy" in the parking lot at work the other day and he was totally obsessed about his 2005 Mini. He shared the story of ordering and waiting for months for the arrival. Not a wave but, it was nice to have a witness that saw i'm not just crazy....owning a MINI makes us obsessed about them. Then a wave a couple days later from a girl in a dark blue at the mall and another dark blue with white on the freeway just south of Centralia last weekend. I feel better now. The fun Miniacs are out. Yay.
I always wave at Minis and I usually get return waves from the justas; however, I seldom get a return from the MCS's. Maybe my lowly justa doesn't deserve a return wave from the MCS crowd.
As this is my 1st Mini, I was not informed of the "wave thingy" from the previous owner. It took a couple of times before I realized I had joined "A Club" with a "wave". I beep and wave at everyone I seen now. So far everyone that has seen me has waved 1st or waved back! :-)
Side note: Before I got "Angie" I saw Mini's everywhere, now I only see one every other day or so! :-( Wonder why?

The only times I have waved at another MINI motorer was when hubby got his in Feb. The first time I drove it, we waved at a girl who drove by in our neighborhood. She waved back
later that week, I let my dad drive it, and he waved at another girl, who waved back. But ever since I got mine in march, nobody has really seemed to notice :( maybe I should start waving! Hubby yas gotten lota of attention in his, like ppp asking about when they pull up beside him. Maybe cuz it's lowered! I gotta lower mine... lol!

Since I've lowered mine I get even more attention than before.
However, I am very happy to say that two days ago, I recognized a Clubman (who was at the Dragon conveniently) and he was waving very excitedly from across traffic
I actually really miss being at the Dragon where everyone was busy waving excitedly, flashing lights, and horns.

... There appear to be few of us who are overly excited lately.

... you should have bought it before last week though you could have hung out at MINIs on the Dragon lolYeah I'm right there with you. Although I went on a pretty neat 11+ mile bike ride around Washington DC today with some of my friends from DC Metro MINIs!
Safer to give a quick flash and keep hands on the wheel...they flash back and wave...
I don't bother with dirty Minis that look they're being used as appliances driven by clueless people ...

I've been in the area 3 years and still wave. Some folks seem to stare right at me and wonder what happened. It's almost like the dealer didn't give them "the talk" before driving off with their MINI or the previous owner didn't prep the new one. In any case, I still do. I used to do the full hand wave. Now, I raise two fingers and hold it till our MINI's cross paths. I use to use the MINI App on my iPhone more often. Now I have to remember to turn it on. I could never pick up those "energy pucks" but I sure left many behind.
IN any case, If you see a red mini with mirror caps and flag badges on the back, that's me!

I always wave if I see the other MINI in time.
Many don't wave back anymore, but I keep waving anyway.
I figure there are lots of MINIs that were bought used and the new owners weren't told about the wave tradition.
I don't really care if others think I look silly because it is great when someone returns the wave.
It was so much fun at the Dragon where everyone waved, flashed lights, honked, flashed a peace sign, etc.

Right there with you! ...and yes, much fun at the Dragon.

Yesterday, I was driving my F350 pick up truck. I saw about five MINIs on one trip to town, I'd have waved, but I've done that before, and, at best, got weird looks.
Today, I made two trips into town and saw no MINIs!
Crap.

I got two waves on a day trip yesterday to the white mountains in New Hampshire. I was convincing my friend, who was with me at the time, to get a MINI, and I think that the waves sealed the deal. When she first heard about waving she thought it was silly, but after actually getting a wave, she loved it!
