Now THAT is really fun!

Maybe the scowling woman wasn't scowling at you, maybe she'd just bit into a lemon!

After me going on ad nauseum over my little beastie, my mom and dad finally gave in and bought a Countryman for mom to drive. They were tootling through a mid-sized city we've lived near for 20yrs when mom says, "Hey, is that a dark grey MINI?" Dad (passenger) replies, "YES! But it's ok, I'm already getting ready to wave at him." Heheheh. Guess I trained 'em right!!! YES!~!!! Conquering the world a few MINIs at a time.

I waved at an R53 Red with white roof on the PCH north of San Francisco last weekend. I didn't get a wave back, though it may have been the fact that I forgot I was in a Mustang convertable rental car! Doh!

I was amazed at the high proportion of 'justas' out in California. I think that Dallas has a higher percentage of 'S' models. Maybe it is an economy thing or a greater percentage of people who are more comfortable with lower powered engines. Who needs a topic for their doctoral thesis in psychology?

I am new, too, and I got waved at last week and waved back. Fun! There are only about 4 Minis in our town so it is still a small club.

I'm about 50/50 now. I can't tell if they don't wave b/c they don't want to if it's b/c they didn't see me. I did pass a gorgeous red MCS w/white roof and got a big wave. I love the waves.

I waved at a red mcs tonight and got a wave in return... Then I realized my loaner car was not Brisby. Wow, I can't wait to get my car back this week!

I live in Louisville, and we recently got our own dealer, so there are many more Minis on the roads here than there used to be. I wave to every Mini I can and get about 50% waves back.

I was on my way back from lunch yesterday and passed three MINIs. All three waved. First time I have had 100% response. It was great. This car makes a normal everyday drive a lot more fun. I love the waves.

Waving Passersby

I live in a western burb of Chicago and I would say more do wave than don't... just waved at one this morning and he waved back. Someone else mentioned the culture- I agree... no other car folk do this that I have ever seen.

Coming home tonight I saw a black r53 turn in front of me so I obviously had to catch up and say hi. At the next stoplight he saw me in the rearview and flashed his taillights. We then proceeded to have a quick quarter mile sprint before we flashed our lights and parted ways for the rest of the way home. There's definitely some MINI spirit out there!

I'm coming to Louisville next weekend and going to have some ick Corolla rental car. I wonder if I will find myself waving at MINIs there?

Leaving my work parking lot, saw another Horizon Blue mini coming toward me. Before I could wave, she honked AND waved as she went by....made my day

Gotten waves, but never a "beep"! Not many Minis in my area, so getting that from another HzB Mini was really uplifting!

Saturday I was leaving work, on my way to a mini coupe launch event no less. While at the stop sign waiting to turn left, and fumbling with my mp3 player, a pepper white mcs with red stripes passed in front of me.....HE LOOKED OVER AND WAVED!! OMG SOMEONE ACTUALLY WAVED!! AND WAVED FIRST!! I was so shocked that I didn't wave back. I just sat there in disbelief and a big smile on my face. I tried to catch up with them, but they turned off. I kept going but decided to turn around and tell them about the event and beg forgiveness for not waving. Unfortunately they were already walking in the building. I am on the lookout for them now! It made my day!

Just got my first MINI this month (barely) and I'm making every effort to wave! Makes the drive more entertaining than it already is with a MINI!

Headlights won't turn off.

Help! 2010 Mini Cooper Coupe on loan from body shop. Says lighting system failure and now headlights won't turn off, with motor off and sitting outside for over an hour. I don't want to wait for battery to die before lights turn off. What do I do? Has anyone ever had this problem? No one to call at this hour and no manual in glove compartment. Please help!!!
