303 Protectant is going on the interior bits
and clean the inside glass.

Otherwise listening to the top 2020 greatest
songs ever (number of songs - listener selected)
on WXPN. It’s been going on for 3 1/2 days
nonstop and there about halfway through the
countdown so far.

Not stock. And the ice box is for the water to air intercooler.

I've been enjoying the count down, too! XPN is always on in the garage.

Speaking of the countdown, it's been on while swapping on Grumpy's snow shoes. Also spent some time and cleaned the wheel mounting surfaces and hub bores. There calling for 1-3" tomorrow. Pulled the snow blower out and got it ready, as well.

This is the first time these wheels have been 100% plastidip free since we've owned him.

We’re supposed to get a half an inch of
rain tomorrow, then 5-8” of snow
Wednesday.

I will be replacing my upper rubber motor mount tomorrow. Mine has busted in half. After that I'm swapping my to spoke to a 3 spoke steering wheel. Now I will have my horn in the middle. Where it should be. I have never liked to two seperate horn buttons.

That's on our to-do list for Grumpy if we either find a good deal and/or have the $$ to burn. It's just natural to slam your hand into the center of the steering wheel, and much more satisfying than pressing a button.

is that a straight-over simple swap, or a complicated set of clockspring electrical chicken dance involving an explosive device?

I got the wheel for 50 dollars with multi function. The airbag i bought for 60 shipped. Just remember when purchasing an airbag. The interchange is incorrect. Only 06 an back will work. As far as the wheel make sure you get a wheel that is also from a 06 an back.
Before moving the airbag, make sure you unhook the positive lead from battery. Let it sit for about 20 minutes to make sure there is no residual power. Then you are good to go.
Here is a link to the procedures.

ah. Thank you for that. I have this type of wheel- very different. Not sure the swap would be as simple.

Yil. Thats what I'm swapping from. Not hard at all. Only thing you will lose with the multi function option is the mode button on the options. But you gain a horn in the middle an a better feeling steering wheel.

The pic of the back of the airbag is the one you need. There is an issue with the interchange. Says 08 will work. Will not, hookup is different.
To be safe just get one from a 06 an back.

Up to an ‘08 R52 won’t work? Looking for a replacement airbag that doesn’t have the scored seams showing through on the face around the MINI logo.

All done with my steering wheel conversion. It is super easy. Just make sure the ground is connected to the horn plate.

Thats ugly! It amazes me the parts spectrum for these Minis goes from absolute garbage to what you would/should expect. Strut mounts, motor mounts, lower control arm bushings...

Very cool. Good job! I'd be worried I would experience the virtual way of being in an accident! lol

What I will be doing today to my MINI

I woke up to this:

24” or more...

The bump in the front is our ‘04 Cooper. The bump in the center is my Wrangler. The bars show out from the snow are the Wrangler’s roof racks

That was 7 am and it is still coming down; hard...

I think I will be shoveling out the MINI and Jeep today...

That is enough to make me move south, as far as possible. I’m not a cold weather fan at all.

BSH lower mount came in yesterday so looks like a lunch time install. Then prep for weekend trip down to sevierville, looks like there might be a couple of days where I can squeeze in some dragon time, get my last few runs in before the snow really hits us and the mini gets parked.

Digging out here, too.
Almost a foot and a half including a
good bit of wet heavy stuff in the
middle of the storm.
