The technical name for the "red brake light" you're referring to is the rear fog light. If thats not damaged, you could retrofit that into a new bumper cover and save a little bit of money.

Well, you're welcome, but actually, I saw someone else on here (or somewhere) who had done this, and since I liked the idea and had a rattle-can of red sitting around, I did it as well....

C ya,
Dutch

Bought a cross strut brace from the NAM marketplace. Bought snow tires and wheels. Priced a car cover and several carbon fiber goodies.

Called ASK MINI - for the fifth time to see if my Coupe has a production date yet. Still "scheduled for production..." Two of the longest weeks ever just waiting for a date. Ugh.

After a little over three weeks of being "schedule for production" my JCW Coupe went straight to "en route". If that helps any...

Scooter, that's the best news I've heard in a week. You should post that to the "Waiting for 2013 model Support Group" thread. LOL! I hope I get pleasantly surprised that it's coming sooner than I thought.

Had my yellow engine light go off in July, which turned out to be a thermostat issue, being that it was in July and hot, pretty much every time I turned off my car, the engine fan would run about 30sec after my car was off. You notice being on more than normal?

Seems fitting that the coolant sensor bulletin was flagged for my car already. That seems to have fixed the issue for now.

Coil, plug wires, slotted ATE rotors, some other maintenance stuff... the old coil/wires were allowing the car to "miss" every now and again, that cured it.

Joe and Dixon, is there a link for the red scoop mod? I definitely want to do that when my car arrives and it isn't clear to me what you painted (sounds like you used a spray can) or what kind of paint you used. I can't even tell what part it is that is painted so any info you have would be much appreciated.

I've done nothing to my MINI yet, but I got an accessory for it today. I've got a small collection of watches, and I have a tradition of buying of buying car-themed ones. I've got an old Porsche Design watch from the 70s/80s, and I've got a tonneau styled for the BMW Z4 that BMW sold when the model launched, etc. My black MCS has Black Jack mirror covers, so I followed the theme.

Getting my Omega car starter installed as we speak:-). Now I can start and unlock/lock my car from my iPhone! No more getting out of my house to start my car anymore when it snows.

Kurtster, on the R53 (2002-2006 "S" models) there's a plastic air diverter under the hood (just under the hood scoop). Remove, mask off the foam, prime with white plastic primer, paint with red (or color of choice). Easy.

I have no idea what the R56 hood looks like underneath.

I got rid of the openometer and used it as a mounting point for a temp gauge via the Ultra-Gauge, see my thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...penometer.html
