Finally got around to cutting some decals for the MC40.
We've had #911 for a little over four years, but haven't really had time to give her the love she deserves. We chose to go with the classic Monte Carlo plates over the 40th anniversary because we liked the look. Besides, vinyl is cheap and we can always cut new ones.
Well ****. I replaced my strut mounts with KYB mounts. And this is what happens after 500 miles.
Yeah! Stay away from the KYB pieces. Very bad. I think mine lasted about 1,100 miles. Junk.
Lemforder P/N => 31-30-6-778-833 or Mini branded (same but $$$). Im on 51k and still going strong. (probably just scr**ed myself with that comment) lol
Yeah find a piece of wood an knock hard. Long story short. A had a different brand comming. USPS lost my package. I was broke down in Louisiana. So Amazon had those an I could get the next day. Now my other showed up a week late in Louisiana . So my Mom is going to mail out today to Florida for me. What a pain in the rump.
Those struts breaking after 500 miles is ridiculously bad. There were times in my life when I drove that in a week. I like tools that don't ever really break, like a pair of forging tongs. Easy with almost no maintenance.

Yeah, thats a PITA for sure.
Back in 2005-2006, my mounts went so I took it into the stealership to get fixed under warranty. I was told that there is no way the mounts failed this early and therefore its my driving... Or the city streets. Really? And they want $986 to fix. Best repaired in pairs...
Nah, I will pass. Got that process down to around 45min per side to replace and $45-50/mount. Although, havent done it in a while so who knows now.
These can be such a pain. Hopefully, you are back up and running soon.
Swapped out my right front cv axle . Boot was torn in the mid shaft joint. Plus the bearing was making a little noise.
Will changing my left strut mount tomorrow. Was waiting on the lower rubber for the spring. It showed up today.
Man I tell you what this tool has saved me so much time. Not to mention it is so much safer to use than the traditional compression tools. Had it for 6 years.

That's the style of compressor we have at the BMW dealer. It does work very nicely.
Well I finished my front end work today. Rides so much better. No more moaning sound from the front end.
So I also needed to change the cam sensor seal. So I got to the part of removing the upper bracket. An wouldn't you know. The rubber mount came apart in two pieces. So I got one comming in Saturday. Man I spent a shitload of money the past month. But still love the old girl.
