Yep, had to replace the stat housing, thermostat and pipe on my just purchased 2011 Clubman S with 69K on her clock. The dealer paid for it and allowed me to take it where I wanted. Not too shabby a deal. So far.
Was quoted $2,600. Found Avery wrap for under $500. Been studying you tube videos and thinking about doing it myself. Going from white silver to black metallic. If I do it-will post photos.

Sitting at the MINI Dealer finally getting the Airbag Seat Sensor Recall work done on my 2007 R52...
...enjoyed the drive over, but I forgot my iPod/Phone cable so I had to listen to the radio... <sad face> commercials <yuck> oh, well ... I really like the dealership, the computer lab, the lounge in the showroom and the coffee/tea maker ... I just need to stay out of the Boutique <$$$>
Replaced a less than 2-year old TYC Cooling fan (installed 11/2015 to replace fan w/failed low-speed resistor). Resistor on 2015 fan has already failed. Luckily Amazon sent a free replacement. I'll pick-up a new replacement resistor and solder it into the 2-year old fan I just pulled in order to have a backup.
Has anyone else had a TYC fan last just 2-years before the resistor failed?

Interesting... I am glad you posted... As I was wondering how good the TYC unit IS or is not.
I installed my TYC unit on 10/06/13 and it has 31,973 miles on it currently. I was really disappointed with the factory Mini fan when the bearing started to go (ticking sound when car is shut off) after 89k miles.

I haven't heard an abundance of negative chatter about the TYC unit in these forums, so all I can refer to is my own experience. It should also be noted that three of the five rubber "flaps" that reside on the passenger side are MIA and have apparently broken or blown off...
We'll see how the replacement unit fares. At $67 & change (Amazon.com) it might be one of those "You get what you pay for" deals...
The failed resistor of the fan installed less than 2-years ago:
Decoked the intake ports and valves, or should I say 'de-sludged'? It was thick and sticky like tar. First time this car has ever been walnut blasted with 76k km on the clock. I deleted the passenger side pcv at the same time and have ordered an occ, should be here any day now.
As I was driving to work suddenly realized today I cannot see anything from my back window my temperature raised to 236 degrees likely i was by the exits off the highway so pulled up to see what's going on with the car as I approached the rear of the car I realized it is soaked with anti-freeze getting to the front of the car I saw antifreeze all over the place check the front under the hood and saw my radiator hose had disconnected and it dumped all the cooling , it was a good year repair facility within about three hundred feet. they connected the hose added antifreeze in and I got on my way to work but now my temperature fluctuates from 177 to 198 back and forth. since my tune it never been over 180, I think the cooling system need to be bled.
Ben
Finished a Dragon weekend with one more run up and back before heading back home.
Told my friend that when I hit the big lottery, going to buy a mountain and build a closed course track. Mountain Goat Motor Park. Will have an uphill/downhill run like 151 off the Parkway and a flat track around the base of mountain like 128 (the tail of the Dragon)

I am glad you guys and girls had fun. I am jealous of being on the wrong side of the continent, but 25 MPH speed limit the dragon tail is overrated.
