Very funny yet so sad

Good Grief.
I hate that feeling when you suddenly realize you are in Jamokeland. You know, where no one feels the need to own up to a mistake.

Thanks Ya they are Enkei Imola and the spokes to stick out a bit. But I also find the rim is a little too unprotected too. Oh well it's minor. At least I was the one that did the first scratch, not some moron with a shopping cart.

Going to install the shorty antennae. Probably won't have time for anything else.

Did you re-drill for 5x130mm? How are the 928 slotted wheels working?

Installed the Madness strut reinforcement plates and changed plug wires... of which #4 was broken. I think they were kingsborne?

I installed Scanguage II today. I turned on 4 gauges as follows: Coolant temp, Intake Air Temp, Voltage & Boost. I am happy with this cos' I can even change the gauges any time.

The reason I install it is I am going to install a cai. I need to monitor the intake air temperature

Took the long way home today. Over 100 miles on the clock now. Blow off valve is very noticeable now and the exhaust is just going nuts with pops and burbles.

Installed an OutMotoring stubby antennae and figured out the hill hold is disabled when sport button is engaged (I had to stop on a parking ramp for construction crew to clear... ramp must have been 35+ Degrees - Handbrake could barely hold the car ).

Quick I need excuses to go back outside and drive.

There is a odd sound coming from the exhaust that you umm...need to inspect more thoroughly that requires you to drive around more to hear it. This is a dire emergency!

Today I made an appointment for Nudnik's tired, original lower control arm bushings to be replaced with nice, red poly ones from MINI Madness next Friday (not Black Friday, but the week after).

C ya,
Dutch

I took my MINI on a road trip to KC for my Grandmother's funeral.....

She didn't even make it out of Colorado. Shipped back to Denver, to Ralph Schomp.
New Clutch and flywheel, and $2,400 later, she should be in great shape!

Sorry to hear that! I hope it's fixed and you get to take it on a more fun road trip in the future!

What year is it, how many miles and how rough on the clutch were you? I'm curious to know what I should generally expect out of mine. Thanks!

About 76,000 miles. I just got her in June, and I've driven her quite a bit, but I wasn't too rough on her. I think the guy that owned her before was rough on her. If I would've known how many problems I would have, I probably wouldn't have bought her. But, now that I have my MINI, I wouldn't trade her for the world! So far, it's worth every penny! (or in this case worth every thousand!)

Took mine to the shop today as well. Leaking lots of coolant. Seems to be a leaky thermostat housing from what I can see. Hopefully she'll be in good shape afterward. I was starting to consider trading her in for an s2000 or something else small and fun, but as soon as I hopped in to bring her to the shop I knew I could never do that. Way too much fun to be had.

No More TPMS error Light

I installed a set of old 8 spoke wheels I got used and Pirelli Winter 210s in 205/50/17. Needless to say the old wheels don't use the TPMS sensors my car came with so I've been staring at the yellow tire preasue light for over a week. I got a piece of 3 inch PVC and some fittings from the True Value Hardware store and mafde a preasure chamber so I can put the sensores in and pump it up to 35 psi. I went with the 50 series tires for 2 reasons, a little more sidewall and it has got my speedometer error down to almost nothing. Maybe 2 mph at 80.

Put my stock wheels back on, added some oil, and cleaned the windows. I need to add air to the tires in the morning they a little low.

I put my roof racks and ski racks back on... Opening day for Alyeska (my local ski resort) is tomorrow!!

Changed my oil a couple days ago and made a mess with the oil filter housing! Guess I did not wait long enough for the oil to drain out of it. Live and learn, right?
