Today I added a JCW Carbon Fiber Boot Latch and JCW Carbon Fiber Interior Door Grabs to my wife's 2011 MCS. Man that was easy...

George I gets upgraded

This weekend was busy...I motored up to Mach V early Fri and they did the install on my K&N CAI, nm air charge and discharge pipes, and a Borla catback.
The guys at Mach V did a super job!--shameless plug. Seriously, they know their stuff. Based on discussion w/Deren, I've gone an ordered Rota RBs, Mach V springs, and from Tire Rack, Yoko Avid Envigors. Yup, getting rid of the run-flats. Another trip up but worth it.
I installed beaded seat covers, and armrest, and Invisilens. The invisilens took a while, but the instructions were spot-on.
More to come, as George I grows--away from stock!

If you are thinking of going the Thule route the comparable basket is about $100 more. The Yakima will fit all crossbars so if you already Thule crossbars the Yakima will fit.

Put it on the auto transport that is taking it to Portland, OR so it will be there when we move back in a week. Kind of nervous, never shipped a car before. Hope it gets there okay!

I'll post pics tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to clean the car.
How are you liking the SSK? Can you still put a shifter boot cover on it?

Looks good to me. I've been thinking about getting a short shift kit. Do you notice you can row through the gears faster?

Here's the link to pics I posted on the day I installed them. BTW...how difficult was the install on the SSK?

Installed NM's RSB end links yesterday. Goodbye pre-load! Only had time for a short test drive, but felt the difference immediately. Suspension seems to be reacting much faster. Now to decide on doing the front as well.

MiniBOL that looks real nice. I love the color combo. The SSK was a bit of a PIA but then again the instructions were horrible! I could do a write up for it if you want. Well worth it though. Can't wait for the new shift **** should make it awesome!

On a lowered MINI the adjustable end links allow the sway bar end pieces to be set level with the road surface. If they're not level it puts a pre-load on the bar that must be overcome before the bar can work correctly. Did a canyon carving test this AM and I was right (for once). The suspension is reacting faster. Got home and promptly ordered NM's links for the front. Gotta keep it all in balance ya know. BTW, NAM has them on sale with free shipping right now!

Time for camber plates. The IE fixed ones work nicely and are reasonably priced. Fully adjustable ones are a *lot* more, but then you can set up your camber spot-on for daily driving or autocross or whatever....

I have the IE Fixed Camber plates on mine. You *will* feel the difference in the corners....

C ya,
Dutch

They turned out GREAT! They are the perfect addition with what I already had going on (Checkered stuff, bonnet stripes. etc).

Had small bubble issues, but was assured they would work their way out, and they are!! Only 2 days and they are almost completely smooth. They are angled, they start under the rear window and end right smack at the bottom edge of the door, and about 1/4 way down the stripes break and the word MINI is printed, then the stripes (double) continue down. See them at www.mightystripes.com. I have mine in gloss black and I think they look amazing!!

P.S. giggles loves them too, now that the zits are disappearing!

Side stripes...very cool! Thats on my Mini "to do" list! Yesterday Ms Maggie got a bath, so today we conditioned the top for the first time and applied Black Wow on the trim.

What did you use on the top? These angled side stripes look great on Horiizon Blue. They don't scream "look at me"! Nice and subtle, very classy!

Removed wheels in order to clean brake dust and apply wax to the inside of the wheels, easy afternoon job. Thought about painting the brake calipers red but decided against it. It is what it is,and painting won't change a thing, when i install an after market brake kit i will make sure they are red. It's easy to get carried away if your not careful......

My GP was about to hit 14,000 miles so i decided to do it big. Woke up early in the AM washed and waxed her. Asked my pops if he wanted to go for a nice sunday cruse through the canyons to pass the mark in style. He told me that his ferrari was about to hit his 1,000 mile mark and so both took the cars out together. Not a bad way to enjoy a nice sunny sunday!

No money for them ATM. Just going KYB for now. Just need to track down a compressor and impact.
